  1. Now granted I'm only a JC drop out, but I've employed or otherwise supervised enough college grads to confidently say that anyone trying for a handout grade probably won't be one of the ones running anything.
  2. Not MUCH hassle, had to so that about a month or two ago when I got the wrong barrel by mistake. Besides, it's not like PSA has actually started pulling any orders from the last 2 weeks yet anyway so likely no additional delay
  3. Look at the bright side guys, the timing paid off for at least one of us... :taser: :hiding:
  4. Merry Xmas guys. http://youtu.be/6jJIVK-daGk
  5. Try amazon. Seriously, if 2 day shipping is an option (obviously with a holiday delay) you may well get them at your door Friday.
  6.     I laughed when I saw the video...
  7. Well dang, it has been a bad year. Hopefully this is it for 2014. :(
  8. Just call DustBuster , he can explain to his metro buddies what's what. By the time they leave I'll be sure to instill some of my newfound wisdom on Nashville's finest. They should feel fortunate, it'll also give me a chance to put some of my custom 1911/Glock shoulder rigs into the hands of some serious operators. It's a dangerous job they have, hopefully a few minutes with me will teach them how grossly under equipped they really are. All in all it should be a very worthwhile experience for them. You just can't buy the kind of tools and training I'm now prepared to provide.
  9. I don't know what you guys are on about, but this guy has some solid advice going. I feel the video was well worth a second and even third watch. You guys can laugh all you want, but I know that if I were to ever get caught up in one of those weird front/side cross fires, I have the tools now to dependably keep targets on rounds. My neighbors are standing around still from watching me practice this and a few other drills in the driveway. I think they're all finally coming to see that when the S hits F, I'm the guy on the block to call. I think I scared a few doing live fire drills like that, but I see at least three of them on the phone right now, probably calling their friends to let them know what a bad ass they live next to. Thanks for sharing Clod, this video truly was a game changa.
  10. It sounds pretty nifty, but I'm getting the distinct taste of snake oil in my mouth reading about the benefits of the gas system. I could be way off, but is like to lay hands on one and see if its hype or if someone finally reinvented the wheel with auto loading pistols.
  11. Lol, fair enough. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/curios-relics.html
  12. AR lowers? No. "Something else off gunbroker"? Only if it's C&R eligible and the seller is willing to work with that. Some people aren't.
  13. I wouldn't worry about an act if terrorism, but I see your point and how you got there anyway. As to the movie shooter, he's a nut bag. Nuttier than squirrel shit and battier than a guano reef. People can be crazy as all hell and still cognitively plan out a cowardly event like that. I don't think he has a relevant handicap that should have kept him from being womped on the head with a sack of bricks three or four times and rolled into a ditch already, but he's loony nonetheless. As to the movie itself, I might go see it in theaters, but I doubt it. I usually only go if I'm being dragged along or I know there is something a friend or family member will really want to see, then sometimes I'll offer to go. The only one I can think if who would want to go see this would be my dad and the seats at theaters bother him after a while.
  14. Man we've been 6 months to a year away from break down since at least 2001. I can remember watching shows about it on the history channel in the before times... Before the aliens.

    Anti seize

I just used some choke grease on a few and a just cleaned the threads of a few more. I've heard various things from various people regarding using loctite or grease on the barrel nut and it seems that the experts are in conflict. I'd actually like to pose the question, has anyone ever used something they WOULDN'T recommend?
  16. Actually made by "US Contractor" according to the website. Either way they seem like great options for us mere mortals. Doing more digging it looks like their AR stuff (Classic) had its fair share of issues at one point. The general consensus seems to be that the current offerings are G2G though, and again I've been very pleased with mine. Now I need another AR like another hole in my head, but when the bug bites next I'll most likely grab another Classic Arms barrel for that build too.
  17. The way things are these days, don't settle. Get the specs you want because odds are the option exists if you are patient enough. https://www.classicfirearms.com/arbarrel18stainlessspiralfluted1in9heavybarrel Here's an 18" heavy barrel with 1/9" twist, spiral fluting, mid length gas and I'd bet 233 Wylde chambering as my other barrels from them also listed 223/5.56 but are marked Wylde in the barrels themselves. Not bad for the $110.00 they're going for. If shiny stainless is a no go they probably have it parkerized too for a few bucks less. I realize that for some there may be a "world of difference" in their high end name barrel and these, but so far I've got no complaints on them.
  18. I thought there was some creepy cracker taking my pic at the shop the other day. You're just jealous of my custom bad ass rig. Some people have to choose between the awesome stopping capability of the .45 and the inherent capacity advantage of the Glock. I call those people sheep. It was hard training my one hand to angle the Glock right while dual wielding, but I think anyone with some sense can agree the results are worth the effort.
  19. Call the police. There's not much they can do but it may be helpful for them to note in case it's an ongoing issue in your neighborhood. Any bad kids on your block?
  20. Look real close in the background @ 1:05-1:09 and check again...I think 1:06-1:07 actually, but my phones not cooperating well enough to nail it exactly.
  21. Now raise your hand if you actually spotted the little girl...
  22. Cry baby :p I seem to recall it was the lifestyle being mocked , NOT the music. There's a difference. If you haven't lately you should spend a day getting caught up on some if the rockabilly of the world sometime HP. Germany, Japan, England, of course the good old USA. There are some neat things happening. Also a thing now called phycobilly that's like a combination of rockabilly and harder rock styles. Reverend Horton Heat is probably one of the better known these days and a hell of a player in his own right, kind of Setzeresque without being a trubute player if you will. The Unknown Hinson is probably one of the funniest people I can think of in any music genre and again a hell of a player, but more of a western(like country AND western) slash goth kind of thing going. He looks like grandpa Munster too which is cool. Most of his stuff is NSFW in one way or another and not fit for polite company. He is funny though.
  23. It is, but IMO its not too far off from being potentially sound. Sort of. I recall reading in Police magazine maybe in the early to mid 90's about a female officer who was confronted suddenly in a relatively crowded park by a man with a butcher knife. As I recall he turned out of the crowd and pulled the knife while advancing from 10-15 feet away or so. The officer was credited for thinking quickly with a shot to the hip/pelvic area which as the article pointed out did two things; 1. Lessen the chance of a passing through bullet from coming out straight on into the crowd by instead sending it in at a downward angle. 2. Dropped the guy right there. Again per the article that while it was unlikely the attacker would have been able or motivated to continue the attack after being shot COM, he was pretty much physically unable to remain on his feet with a shattered pelvis, nonetheless progress any further forward. I don't know. It's not where I would have anyone learn to shoot if they were getting started or getting a basic crash corse or what have you, but for people who work on the basics with enough regularity that they like to also train in some unlikely scenarios, it may not be a bad option to work on it a bit.
