  1.     Just regurgitation from Gene Odoms book. Being one of his childhood friends all the way through working with the band management, and even being in the plane crash I guess he was close enough to have as good an idea as anybody alive being Ronnie wrote the lyrics. But yeah, I'd have to agree on the whole generalization thing, and Neil is sure one hateful hippy from what I've read ;) .
  2. I really like the Ruger rimfire a lot.  I want a threaded .22 bolt gun as a host for my Guardian .22 and they look like the most viable option going right now. The predator ones are particularly cool, they look pretty serious for a .22
  3.   To be fair that was a bit of a tongue in cheek response to the idea of the song Southern Man. RVZ was a Young fan and even buried in his favorite Niel Young tshirt.
  4. If your thinking occasional carry and primary range gun I'd say get the 4" with the adjustable sights personally. You shouldn't have too hard a time hiding it with the right clothes and the adjustable sights are not too big of a snag concern on a gun like that IMO.   Either one will be a sweet shooter for sure, good choice  .
  5.     I got one after seeing pics of BigKs and agree on all points, especially the "I'm definitely buying another" bit. One thing I'd recommend though, for whatever reason these are cheaper on their website than amazon, also make sure and buy one of their timing rings to go with it. It's pricey for what it is but IMO well worth the cost over a crush washer. Really can't go wrong with one of these, might look a little funny on the end of a bolt gun, but then again it may not and who cares anyway?
  6.   You missed something there...   I've always thought he was incredibly over rated as a singer and guitar player. He's a good song writer, I'll give him that but he's still a jerk.
  7.     Sounds fair to me and probably the only way the dipstick will se the light.
  8. I really wish they'd bring it to market already. :waiting: Just put a 16" barrel on some, a short one on others, and just call a spade a spade and sell their intended barrel setup as an NFA item. ATF would be happy, people who have at this point almost lost interest altogether (like me) might start shelling out cash, and the ones still rabidly foaming at the bit would be throwing it at Sig hand over fist which would probably go a long way toward aleviating their concerns over missing revenue and lost jobs. As far as the general confusion in the firearms world over the legalities of muzzle breaks, thats just stupid on Sigs part. :stick: Seems like a pretty clear reach to me and personally with Todd "Chuckles" Jones in the midst of his power trip, right now I wouldn't be pushing any issues with the ATF.
  9. Jeez thats scary stuff G. Hoping we will get an update from Bersaguy soon. He's a tough old bird so I'm keeping my thoughts optimistic.
  10.     I should have at least one extra lying around here somewhere... Yup, found it. Shoot me your shipping info and it's on the way, or pick it up in Nashville if you're close by.
  11. I briefly considered carrying 3. Your far from alone.
  12.     It was the first Heinlien I ever read and it really resonated with me. From there I grabbed Starship Trooper, I had actually like the movie as a kid  simple action flick with 3.2 seconds of that exposed redhead soldier in Johnnys tent made a fan out of me at the time, so it was an eye opener to see what a REAL story it all was.   From there I picked up every one of his books I could get my hands on. My favorites so far (he wrote ALOT) are probably Time Enough For Love and Job: A comedy of justice.       Highjack over, pack to preppin :)
  13. Looks good! I've had pretty good luck with some "bargain brand barrels". I've got a PTAC barrel in one of my builds and so far I'm more than happy with it, I'm downright pleased. Like you I was all geared up for it to be second rate in some visible aspect, but I was almost disappointed to see nice crisp rifling, a good even finish, and over all boringly clean machining. Get it out on paper and let us know what you think.
  14. Uh, one or two words to go with this seems necessary IMO. How does one avoid doing this?
  15.     Same here, it was a stretch to get both the Runts, but I'm glad I made it happen. Having said that I'm done for a while I hope. I was actually glad to hear Willis announce a reprieve this year after the godson. Well, not me but my wallet sure was.
  16. I cut cable a long time ago in favor of netflix. Now I also have Amazon prime and a chrome cast. I miss cable sometimes, but then again I can always head over to one of the family who still pays for it if there's a show I want to watch without waiting for it to come out. Even then Amazon is picking up new seasons of more and more shows, they're pricey, but considering how few seasons I end up buying I'm still coming out ahead in the long run.
  17. Who said anything about trolling? It's good question that goes through everyone's mind, or should from time to time. It's also one of those questions that brings up a lot of different opinions, and with that lots of debate. I'm eagerly awaiting the resulting thread. :hat:
  18. Best of my knowledge there's no rule against buying a gun to sell it down the road. Isn't a qualifier in and of itself for being "engaged in business". Making a habit of it might be a gray area, but pretty sure Bersa is safe on this one.
  19. I'm not familiar with your rifle off the top of my head, but I'd wager you did very well. That 22/45 will spit lead all day without complaint, and $375 might even fetch ya a few bricks of .22 to go with it :D
  20.     I was thinking the same thing. And yes, thats about as BA as anything.
  21. And in exactly that order, with the slight revision of course. ;)
