ATF raises new concerns about AR-15 ammo
TrickyNicky replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Who puts a guy with a letter for a first name in charge of anything anyway? I think it's about time for B. Todd to B. going, the guys obviously a special kind of stupid. -
Hey John, you might want to consider getting a gun belt. :D I got a 511 belt that I really like, it's not super think or wide, about what a normal belt would be, but it has plastic of some kind (kydex?) running down the length sewn inside. It was I think $45 and the best clothing item I've ever owned. Made a world of difference for a IWB holster and looks good with jeans but could be worn with fancier clothes too. You think your belt is up to the job, I thought my old one was too, had sagging issues and thought it was my body shape, the holster, too heavy of a gun, wrong positioning of the rig you name it I tried to fix it without buying a new belt. Succumb to the inevitable and go try one out.

Thats a bigger deal breaker IMO. That was one thin I always really respected about keltec, even though their products aren't the best, they stood by them. Oh well.

Very nice! Any thoughts on putting an optic on at some point? It's just begging for one. :D

My first Lee Enfield British .303 No 4 Mark 1
TrickyNicky replied to Richard995's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Thats about what I paid for my last 100 rounds or so. Not a cheap gun to shoot, but a fun one nonetheless. I love my Enfield, they're a fine example of what craftsmanship used to look like in a different time. -
Got mine today too! You're right Hipower, seeing the numbers and holding it are two very different things lol. These are some really handsome knives. I got some really nice scales on both of mine but my tanto has scales to die for :D Upgrading the button on these was a damn good call Willis, I was a bit skeptical at paying more for a purely cosmetic feature, but damn. This is one well specced out knife, as usual. After getting them in hand I'm going to have to go back on a previous statement, these are NOT replacing the Rockeye as everyday work knives, they'll fall into carry rotation for times when I want a knife but don't expect to use one for more than opening a box or two or the like, they are just so pretty i 'd hate to see anything happen to them. Thanks again Willis, very happy camper over here.

It took a lot not to whip someone's ass today

The guys either a monkey dick or senile, maybe both. Good on you for handling it the way you did G. Personally I doubt I would have been able to resist telling him I got 'crippled' during a particularly rowdy bout of loving with his momma. You handled it the right way man, and good on Oma Kraut too for the sage advise. I'm honesty a bit surprised the post didn't end with you having to bail her out of the big house for giving him a bit of a smack :D German women are scary, don't mess with them! -
^ This, and not just cause I shoot at Charlies too ;) . I think we've all had more than a few run ins with "that guy". Whether it's on the range or in the gun shop, "that guy" is the cats pajamas and just give him 90 seconds and he'll be sure to tell you all about it. As an added bonus "that guy" is usually more than willing to critique you, your gear, and your technique at no charge and offer vague recommendations such as "a lot of guys used to do _____, but I've always thought that was stupid." Or, "I've helped my brothers friends SWAT team train before. They were acquiring targets in all wrong. I went and told their 'trainer' what he was doing wrong and he was just speechless." As much as I loathe "that guy", it sounds like in this case he may have been in the right, or at least not wrong. If you were handling your rifle while the range was cold then, well yeah someone is or at least should correct that immediately. His experience as a RSO has nothing to do with that though, it's just basic safety and curtesy for other shooters. To say that he was in the wrong because he works at a different range makes no sense at all IMO.

Pretty big leap from $300 (presumably) new to $750 used in the same year. I tried a cursory search online, but couldn't find anything like an old buyers guide posted online.

Jealous? No no I'm not jealous, who would want an old communist rifle like that anyway? And shooting out to 300 yards on ones own property? Overrated, I bet. Sooooo, wanna hang out? Field trip to Ramjos! :D

American Eagle 5.56 Green Tip Ammo Panic
TrickyNicky replied to Will's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
We are our own worst enemies in so many ways. -
Guns and Leather is always worth a stop, a bit outside of Nashville, but worth the trip. Nashville Armory has some cool stuff including machine gun rentals on their range ($$$). A bit farther away but worth the trip if you have time is Outpost Armory. franklin gun shop has an extensive inventory, or did for years anyway. I haven't been in in a year or more since I find the service lacking and the pricing bordering on stupid, but it for a place to kill some time and check out some guns you could do worse.

Welcome aboard and thank you for your service. :usa: As a fellow refuge from the state of Ca I can assure you the .10 tax is a pittance to pay for the freedom you are about to enjoy. My advice, roll with it. -
Man I'm getting hyped waiting for these to come in. I have a sneaking suspicion that my LG Rockeye is about to be semi retired by these two beauties.

:ugh: Where'd you get a pic of me and the boys training?! We got a mole! :panic: On topic, I'm not sure I can be much more discusted. As mentioned above we have veterans who have been waiting MONTHS to get what we promised them from the VA and this is the current scandal? I'm sure I'm the minority and the words are easier for me to say having never served, but who gives a shit? Either the guy can fix problems or he can't. If he can improve the situation for the vets then whatever, news flash; some people are loose moraled liars. If he can't, toss him on his butt and don't look back. I think we all here know or have met that kid, 23-25, just got back, all he wants from the VA is a an appointment to talk with a Dr. The fact that we can't give him one in a timely fashion is sick. Easiest solution I can think of, change whatever needs to be changed and do whatever needs doing to ensure our elected officials have to use the same health services as our returning Heros with absolutely ZERO preferential treatment. I can't help but think that things would be cleared up in months and it surely wouldn't bother me as a tax payer.

Thats just the money in your pocket trying to confuse you so it can delay it's inevitable spending.

Is TiN coating worth it?
TrickyNicky replied to whitewolf001's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I'm with Dave on this, I can't see the benefit over cerakote for the outside of a barrel and considering you can get a nitrided BCG from AIM for I think about $80, it kind of looses most of it's appeal IMO. I wonder what it would cost to get a barrel and BCG nitrided? Seems like a better process in that the inside of the barrel gets treated as well. I'd look into the cost of doing that, and then see what it would cost to have 2A micro slick the BCG and do up the barrel in whatever color strikes your fancy. -
Merica! :usa: :usa: I'd be interested in your thoughts on the stock setup wen you've had some time to shoot it some, they look awesome.

Any idea what the problem is? I've gotten enough relief to sleep with a temporary filling kit and some benzocaine on several occasions. Not perfect, but could be a better option than the pliers.

I always thought of it as more of a non judgmental support group :D
