His wife is nice though (and smoking hot). I went to see a friend open for Yngwie at the Ventura theater on my 21st birthday and while he lived up to his rep back stage in spades, she was very cool and came out and sat with us regular schmucks for a while and wished me a happy birthday. :) His singer at the time (some Bruce Dickens looking dude) was also pretty cool and hung out with "Ronnies friends" for a few minutes and had a joke with us about the expected span of his career singing with Yngwie. Sorry for the trip down memory lane, but that was an awesome night for sure.

I've heard denatured alcohol through a loaf of bread will keep you warm on a cold night, no experience personally but apparently its a thing.

I got a dremel and a bench vice, you got a steady hand right? :D

Probabl the time I forgot to put pineapple juice in some pina coladas. Rum and coconut milk is probably the foulest thing I've drank.

LOL! I asked my buddy Javier once what the deal was with menudo the soup and menudo the band and how to tell the two apart. He looked at me like I was retarded so I waived it off as a cultural difference and moved on with life. My other buddy Modesto can list every Mexican inventor and what they invented and how it changed the world. He always seems to leave boy bands off the list for some reason.....

Looks great! The only thing I miss about LA are the tacorias and getting myself a big container of menudo on Sunday morning to combat Saturday nights festivities. Basically I think it's the same soup with tripe instead of or in addition to the beef. You might ask if they have it next time you go back.

Keep in mind your old capacitor will carry plenty of charge to do you harm well after being disconnected from a power source. I had to replace a fan and capacitor on a 2.5ton unit awhile back and none of it was hard if your fairly handy. I was lucky enough that one of my buddies was willing to help me out since two heads are better than one, but doing the cap swap is definitely doable on your own. Also if you are looking for a Lee type company that won't bend you both ways over the barrel for every little thing try calling Roscoe Brown. They do good work at a much better price than Lee or Hiller. Both of the big two wanted about $200 just to take a look at my roof top unit, Roscoe brown just wanted to know what size ladder to bring. Lee and Hiller wanted to charge me an additional $1xx.xx to hoist a water heater into a an attic, Roscoe Brown called in a helping hand for the hoisting and did the whole thing for about 2/3 the cost IIRC. I'm in no way affiliated with them, but I had to do quote shopping for every little thing at my last job and they where usually just a tad more expensive than a craigslist handy man and they are a pro outfit.

 B. Seeing ya B. Todd! Now we can only hope we're not out of the pan and into the fire... :ugh:

I like m dads Shield about as much as any polymer pistol when it comes to the trigger  I do want a smaller semi auto and the Glock is coming out at a perfect time for me, but I don't see the benefit over the 26 personally from the pics so far. Maybe having one in hand will change my tune, but I doubt it.

My first Mosin-Nagant Model 1944
TrickyNicky replied to Richard995's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I've never weighed them or looked up the weights, but always wondered why it seemed that while the M44 is definitely handier it really isn't very light at all. The stock feels a bit bulkier, maybe thats where it hides the extra weight? -
We used to have bb gun wars all the time growing up, but there are pellet guns cheaply available today that have a similar performance of a rimfire rifle. They were available then too and a few of us had one, but they weren't allowed in the fights. I do recall a few years after high school hearing that one of my former classmates had shot another in the top of his foot with a heavy duty air rifle and that the other kid was walking with a cane for some years after. It's a shame that it only takes a few instances like this and before you know it air guns will have the same stigma as real guns in the anti crowd.

I've heard good things about Toms work at Lock Stock and Barrel, but haven't had any work done there personally. Stopped by to check them out and it seems like a good operation.

Move into your smaller home, sell the bigger one and use the funds to winter in Boca for a few years.

I love it! I never realized my knifes where all missing bottle openers before though. Where'd I put that dremel? :ugh:

I wouldn't worry about the non chrome lined if its good steel, which being a Ruger I'm willing to bet it is at the minimum "adequate" :) . In fact I prefer a non chromed barrel since I don't shoot corrosive .223 (does anyone still make any?) and the interwebz insist that a SS barrel will be more accurate. I find that cleaning each is about the same if your whistling a happy tune while you work, I like Walk by Pantera or Walking on Sunshine for a few ideas. I also like the 1/8 twist just fine and have one on my 'DMR' AR. If you can honestly tell the difference between 1/7 1/8 and 1/9 twist beyond each having a different POA/POI than you are definitely a much better than average shooter, and/or shooting bullet weights at extreme ends of the weight spectrum and probably at long distances. Or you are looking for something that an entry level M4gery wasn't designed for. I wouldn't say they skimped at all, but as our esteemed Bersaguy would say, thats JMHO....

If you want hot, head down to east nashville and grab some Boltons Hot Chicken. Most of the 'hipper' hot chicken joints make it either to bland or they just jump up the heat to stupid proportions for the novelty. Boltons is a family business making it the way they eat it. Another member here turned me onto back to cuba cafe which is friggin amazing for a low key eatery.as well. Call and make sure they have cuban sandwiches before you head down.

They misspelled gouge in their name...

You might want to let him know that it's not only not a big PITA to register the guns, he can (or could when I lived there, don't think its changed) bring and register handguns that where NOT on the CA DOJ Nancy list. Some of them are could bring him 100s more than selling here and the selling is 100% above board when done through an FFL. I'm not advocating or suggesting anything that might be construed as engaging in business, but if he's even a little unsure as to keep what he has or not, I would suggest figuring it out over there. Unless you just really want your pistols back :D

On topic, my biggest weakness is Little Debbie zebra cakes or oatmeal pies, followed by Bugles chips. I'm not sure how much crack exactly gets mixed into bugles, but it's enough to keep me coming back until the bag is empty.

My sister makes a mean bulgogi! I didn't know how to spell it, only say it and eat it. As her dedicated recipe taster for many years I can safely say the most important thing to do to get it just right is to lightly freeze the beef before slicing. with it frozen just enough to be firm you can get super thin slices that really make it a great dish IMO. She'll cook it with larger pieces if she makes it by request and most of my family seem to like that fine, but I think sliced thin is the way to go.

^ All this exactly except I have asked for help there. You'd think with prices like that you could expect some decent CS. Nope.

The house is probably one of the coolest places I've ever toured and houses an impressive collection of stuff including a large museum dedicated to Winchester branded good like razors and wagons, irons etc. Also a nice if not huge collection of rifles as well on site. It's sad that she got swindled into blowing a large chunk of change on the house, but it really is a neat place to see at the same time. Not the kind of thing you could replicate as a tourist trap anywhere either like all the various 'mystery spots' and 'crooked cabins' that someone must have gone cross country building at some point. Probably my favorite road trip attraction all in all aside from old sequoia from my youth.
