A few more I forgot about, Lonsome Dove, Comanche Moon, Dead Mans Walk, Streets Of Laredo. All better books than movies but hey, still not bad. For that matter get the books, Larry McMurty is the author.

Go onto YouTube and check out Have gun will travel. Not a movie but a good series. Second episode has a cameo from Charles Bronson. Between that and Bonanza I get my western fix next to free. <EDIT> Just noticed HGWT has already been recommended. Good call, great show!

Help Me Find The Perfect Multitool
TrickyNicky replied to analog_kidd's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Claws work as a bottle opener in a pinch. Not great but works. Could be much better if you were to shave about 1/16-1/8 off the little nibs. Great knife, I've got two of them myself. -
The one at the dentists office? I had just been referred there about a week ago. Never made the appointment, so never met the victim. Apparently was in an abusive relationship. Very very sad. Really makes you think about the world "these days", what if there had been a patient there trying to make an appointment, what then? Double murder? Just knowing someone who reasonably could have been there, really makes me think. I'm sighning up for permit class next week. With any luck I'll be taking some family members with me.

So much hate for my girl Flo. What up with that? She's smoking hot, I'd much rather watch her than some stupid lizard, or that D-bag from nation wide. I think you guys are just drinking heavily from the hateorade.

That really sucks. CHMR where I shoot doesn't seem to have a whole lot of yayhoos rolling through. The few I've seen are usually quickly and quietly corrected by either Charlie or other members. In fact I'd have to say it's kind of the opposite, I think you need to find a new place to shoot.

need help with a Mossberg 185 D Bolt action 20 ga.
TrickyNicky replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
$5.?! That's less than I spend on any given meal! Good score. I've never seen one but will go way out on a limb. Is there a spring loaded lug on the underside of the bolt? If so you may have to reset said lug into place. That's how I "fixed" my m69 bolt action, maybe a similar design? I'm sure someone will be along with more experience to help you out soon. Any chance of some pics? -
Congadulations TN! It came with some leather too right? Spend some time with it and let is know how it shoots. With a little practice you shout be able to make 100 yard pie plate shots all day.

I could live with that. Actually not bad at all for rapid fire IMO. I had this mental image of someone sitting at the bench with a spotting scope and all. Glad this worked out for you.

Yes I believe I do. Sorry, don't know what came over me.

Another vote for the ruger, love mine. I thing the browning would be a safe bet as well, one thing I like about it over the mkiii is the slide actually being a slide as opposed to the plunger style design. That's about my only gripe on the mk series aside from the breakdown process which taught me a few colorful uses for expletives I had not previously considered. The berretta neos is also intriguing as there is a carbine kit available if that's your kind of thing. Almost forgot, the ruger sr22 pistol is pretty great as well. Not as accurate in my hands as the mkiii, but my mom(my best range buddy) loves it and can get some pretty decent hits with it. Changable grips, easy take down, eats any of the bulk ammo I've put down it. All in all a great gun as well.

Don't know what the fuss is here guys. After all once you've ellinated a city's crime, pollution, traffic, immigration issues and vanquished the CHUDs, it only makes sence right? Right? Guys?

My local wallwart also sells the s&w. Come to think of it they have a pretty good selection all things considered. Definatly rather do business with them than my closest local shop. Sounds terrible I know, but hey I get good service at Cool Springs walmart, more than I can say about my local place. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I need to get down to D&T.

TLR, a few questions. Was that one big group or several smaller ones? Bench or free hand? Before or after repairs? If the answers are big, bench, and after I would be furious right about now in your shoes.

I'd agree with half that. Bluing wear is nasty but when their clean their clean. All my guns are blued come to think of it. I should change that.

I like it. Almost looks like a Tokarev or something. Nice score.

Enjoyed a good chat tonight. Learned some stuff and shot the bull with some great folks. Try it, you may like it.

Get the membership. Well worth it even if you use it just this once. Put it up here the right way, at a fair price and it will move. Especially with accessories.

Kind of my reasoning. Living in an apartment with a maximum distance of about 10-15 yards at the most and more likely 5-10, I figured if I did my part they'd do the trick without me having to worry to much about overpenetration.

That's funny, I seem to recall using wadcutters and feeling silly about it when I lived in the sfv. I'd have to kick my own a$$ if I ever bought something like that. On the other hand, it would be funny as hell to through a few in a buddy's shell pouch while out trap shooting.

I grudgingly (I love Ruger) would have to say AR. keeping in mind I own neither, it just seems that there is more you can do to the AR platform. As stated there is no contest in the price on magazines or even availabilty of mags. To bad there not as many options for the mini as there are for the 10/22. That would be a game changer IMO. Anyone ever see/use one of those "barrel harmonic equalizers" for the mini? Apparently supposed to help a bit with accuracy. Not sure if it would get you to where a good AR is but can't help wondering.

I really like the Nova series. From my very limited experience with shotguns it hard to imagine getting more gun for the money. The Winchester sxp series also looks intriguing. Something about a rotary bolt to help cycle follow up shots quicker. If I was in the market for a not too expensive pump, those are the ones I'd be looking at first and probably last with the edge to the Nova as that's the only one of the two I have first hand experience with. Is it just me or is it getting hard to find bad new guns these days?

+1 same with me and mine. My favorite parts though are when Homers waiting outside with Tom Petty playing watching all his potential targets pass back and forth in front of him, and when Moe shows his NRA group how to turn six guns into one gun. Classic Simpons. BTW, built a "loudener" once out of an old funnel... Didn't do much for me, but then again I wasn't standing downwind of the mussel and was testing it with CBs in my old apartment which echoed alot so YMMV.

Hopefully my post didn't seem as bashing. As has been stated when someone makes a statement I respond. Not trying to change any minds, just expressing my point of view. OP, while I may nit agree with everything in your post, I agree with some of it and most importantly your right to say it which you did IMO very well. I personally fail to see the religious point as I have known way to many good people doing good things with no god in their life.
