DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
TrickyNicky replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Exactly. Well said. -
If you want pm me and I'll take you over to CHMR as my guest for the day. It's outdoors but a nice place run by a great guy. Dues are cheap as well. Local to you if your in Franklin as well. I'm not sure if the Armory place is open yet or not, one peace of advice though stay away from Gun City USA. Unless some dramatic changes have taken place in the last few years.

Those 78s are sweet! Like a cross between the m69 and the 48. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for one of those too. I guess derailments aren't all that bad after all.

A little known fact about blackberries
TrickyNicky replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Snipes are in fact real, just not native to the continent. Small birds from Asia, "back in the day" someone who could take one on the wing would be known as a "sniper" Ain't learning fun? Also blacker the berry, sweeter the juice. Giggity! -
DEA: Alcohol Prohibition Worked Back In The 1920's
TrickyNicky replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
It did work great, providing of course you fell into one of two groups, criminal bootlegger or LEO charged with (and given extra funds for) stopping said bootleggers. No offense to any DEA agents, but I'd rather see that particular waste of tax dollars shut down than maybe even BATFE. If you needed any more proof the gov was in bed with criminals, there's your sign. -
I lived many years in Los Angeles county where you have to be finger printed for AMMO transactions. Rolled my thumb everytime I could get away with it. Every once in awhile a clerk would have me redo it but not often. My plans for said ammo was never more nefarious than going out to the desert and shooting a few bottles and what not, I just liked the idea of throwing a monkey wrench in the anti's plan. Not that it mattered considering they take your info off your drivers license anyway.

Greg, I never meant to derail the thread. Honest I didn't. Can you forgive me? Bajabuc, thanks for the link but it looks like pcrc11 has me me covered. Pcrc11, thanks so much! Pm inbound. Now with that out of the way, let's talk more about how great these Polish trainers look. Don't all youse guys go buying all these up now. C&R license is inbound and I think one of these will be amongst the first orders.

How many different brands of handgun have you owned?
TrickyNicky replied to Volzfan's topic in Handguns
This has been going on a while now and I have to say I am surprised how often Ruger appears near the top of peoples lists. Not because I think they are in anyway inferior, quite the opposite actually but I was always under the impression they were somewhat looked down by others. Neither my Blackhawk, GP100, sr22, or mkiii have let me down, when my brother wanted to get a few guns of his own I steered him toward a 10/22 and a p95. Anyway kind of rambling here but oh well. -
Yup. I met a few hippies once, they were nice folks who just wanted to live the way they wanted to live. They even liked guns, though didn't approve of using them violently. I say to each their own. So long as they don't come into my house and tell me what to do. Of course onthe flip side to that I've met some reall goodballs as well.

Not really anything new. Thieves steal, that's what makes them thieves. What they steal is mostly immaterial to that fact.

Check out the (media spin) on this CC video!
TrickyNicky replied to JohnC's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Just another crap load of crap straight from crap town. Wouldn't it be neat if the media would report on both sides of an issue instead of just telling us how they feel about it? I think that would be great. -
Ditto. Is it strange that I'm comfortable spending twice as much as on the trainer than on the real thing?
-
Not even for triple it's value, whatever that may be. If I did it'd have to go to mom anyway. She loves that gun as much a I do.

Bloomberg Board Looking For Other Food Products To Ban
TrickyNicky replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
Typicall Gov. attitude, ban the domestically made version in favor of importing it from some foreign country shaped like a boot. After all, things are tough for the Europians right now, they need our ice cream money to stay afloat. Outsourcing at it's finest. -
New Pledge of Allegiance in New Jersey School
TrickyNicky replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
This +1000. Unquestioned devotion(fanaticism) to ANYTHING is a dangerous thing IMO. -
That's just too funny! I will have to remember that. I know a couple of guys that grew up with the Baldwins, apparently not alot has changed with the brothers over the years. Kind of funny because according to my buddy's their dad was a good guy. Coaching little league and the like. Maybe ge worked for his money and didn't take "the little guy" for granted, I don't know but it sounds like the apples fell far from the tree.
-
Single shot I think. Nothing wrong with that IMO kinda makes you appreciate each shot a bit more having to hand load it.

My camouflaged car rant, Why in the he** would you...?
TrickyNicky replied to NRA's topic in General Chat
And what to wear and how to wear it. Who to talk too, what to say... The only thing better IMO would be if they where able to ensure at all times where everyone was supposed to be and make sure they were there. It'd be easy too. -
I went with 38 super. IIRC factory ammo would be cheaper, better parts selection, and as mentioned if you roll your own you should be able to get pretty darn close to 357 sig. I had done a little research awhile ago and believe the 38 super lends itself well to 9mm conversions with just a new barrel and a few other parts swapped so that's cool too.

Not mine. Missing the magazine since I got it back from loaning it to a buddy of mine. Anyway back to the topic at hand, I've been looking into these a bit today and now have to have one. TGO helps spend my money like no ones business.
-
Unfortunately not but if it shoots as well as my Romanian M69 you'd be pretty happy with it. Looks great though.

Good to hear a good review. I was kinda upset when I saw the previews as I happen to like 80's rock/hair metal. The idea of a musical using RATT and poison just, well upset me a bit I guess.
-
Very cool! Was that over at CHMR? I had seen a guy over there with one, but talking to him he said Charlie wouldn't allow them. Maybe he has to know/trust you a bit better than the casual shooter?
-
I will definatly agree it's time we got Obama out of office. If that means voting for someone other than my pick so be it at this point. Say La V right?

I think some people are tired of thinking about RP on account of they've already made up their minds he can't win. I've said it before and most likely will again but it's a damn shame the vote for POTUS has turned more into a popularity contest than a voice for preference. Some times I wonder what would happen if everyone who was voting for Romney just to see a win actually did vote Ron Paul. (assuming he was their honest choice) Between his ardent supporters and the others I can't help but wonder...
