How many is substantial? I would be willing but my meager collection hasn't got much interesting stuff. Or maybe I'm just apathetic due to over exposer. I'm saving up to make some neat C&R purchases once my license gets in, then I'll have something to photograph.
-
As stated in another thread the guys a sleazy, skeazy SOB. I'd rather hang around my dentist office than go shop there.
-
Must resist... Saving for C&R shopping spree... So hard... Must not buy...

Looks great as usual. How many 10/22s are you up to? Seems every week or two we get a new unveiling.

I also remember one a "pistol packin priest". What a joke, the guy was an ordained minister with one of those Internet based churches that would even make me a minister. So anyway he pays (surprise surprise) $10,000 for a single action revolver for cowboy shooting. Sh&$! Bob Mungden will customize you up a Ruger specifacly for cowboy trick shooting for two grand or less and we all know how proud Bob Mungden is of Bob Mungden. From the looks of things Bobs would mop the floor with one of Rich's. Sometime I think the reason I watch the show is because it's good to get the blood boiling every once in a while.

My "favorite" has to be the alligator gun episode. So wrong in so many ways I won't even get into it.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. A crap load of crap from crap town. Scripts, actors, and bad production, these guys give reality tv a bad name and that's pretty hard to do. If any real money actually changes hands it's happening twice. Once from the producers to the actors, and again from the actors back to the producers. Remember if $1000 is sexy $10,000 is sexier. I go back and forth on what's more upsetting, the writers low opinion of the intelligence of those watching or the fact that some people actually believe that crap. While I'm ranting, another thing that chaps my a$$ is the people watching sons of guns and going online spouting crap about Vince leaving everyone in a lurch. Come on people he was under contract. He wouldn't/couldnt have up and left the way they portray it happening, the Hollywood lawyers would own his house, all his possessions, and his new business. His leaving wasn't a surprise to any one except the viewers. OK, rant officially over, god I hate tv sometimes.

Gun Buyback Funds Youth Marksmanship Camp
TrickyNicky replied to Volphin's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Mwahahahahaha!! That's great. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought about showing up to one of these things with a sign offering $10 more for the guns than the program, cash in hand of course. I wonder how that would go over with local LE? -
I used to get $60-$100 an hour from a real consumer survey group, cash in hand even if they didn't need me as long as I showed up on time. If anyone called me looking to do a survey I'd just let them know I don't mind doing it but I won't do their jobs for them for free on my time. My father has a private security consulting business and just tells em his going rate and to call back when they can write the check. Hasn't got a lot of calls back.

That suckers almost into G.I. Joe territory... Almost.

Good for him. Could've been a bit nicer about it but good for him none the less.

This. Many, many times. I have noticed certain improvments from time to time. In my early twenties a few buddy's and I would go out to the desert about every to every other weekend. I feel that's where I really cut my teeth so to speak. I believe it had alot more to do with feeling comfortable shooting the way I shoot good or bad than having any kind of "scientific breakthrough". I ended up taking a few year break where I rarely if ever went shooting, for me at least it wasn't like riding a bike when you hop back on and a few minutes later your racing away. The big bit again last January when I was here for a holiday visit, my brother decided he wanted a handgun so off we went to the gun show and later the range. Being out shooting again reenforced everything I love about it, the people, the sights and smells, the atta'boy feeling you get when make a good shot/group. I ended up moving back to Tn a few months after that and have been shooting probably a dozen or so times in the past few months and just recently started feeling like I am back up to my old standards. It still comes and goes, a month ago I put 7-8 rounds of 22 into a group the size of a quarter using open sights with my favorite rifle, last week the group opened up to one the size of my fist. I just take the good with the bad. Also for what it's worth, I have never thought I was anything other than a hack when it comes to shooting anything. I do get a fair amount of "lucky days" in though. ; )

DAAANG! That looks bad. Glad they got you all put back together though. You know, ya gotta seriously commend the dedication Dolomite shows to TGO what with filleting his thumb, posting about it THEN making his way down the ER.... Seriously though take it easy for a week or two and you'll be back at that stock in no time.

Hazmatt, I'm in Nashville with a GP100 if you ever want to meet up and try one out. Not for sale or anything but just so you can try before you buy.

Woops, double post.

Actually one of the best stocked gun shops I've ever been in was in Ca. Martin B Reddings in Culver City. While it's true there certain restrictions on what one can buy out there anything that could be bought and sold they had a half dozen of. And as far as gun shows go, nothing can touch the shows they used to have at the Pamona fair grounds "back in the day". I'm talking four thirty thousand square foot building FULL of guns and ammo. As for mid-Tn, I gotta say Franklin gun shop is a cool place to look around, just not super great on pricing. I've seen stuff marked over MSRP. I'd honestly rather shop at an Academy Sports.

I gotta go with Hawken vs. Einstein or Dr. Suess vs. Shakespeare.

When I was in my late teens I got into the stash in my parents garage. This stuff had been sitting there since the bar in their living room got destroyed in the 94 earthquake(LA). Some of the bottles ranged back to the late 80's and were just fine. The scotch and bourbon was some of the best I've drank to date. The idea that aging stops once in the bottle seems odd to me, maybe it's not absorbing the flavor of an oak cask, but it's most assuredly aging. Not even Johnny Walker can stop father time. Drink it in good health.

If I'm not mistaken you need to get the receiving FFL to send their information to the sending FFL, then bring in the gun and they can ship it off. Costs will vary based on where your shipping, and how much they charge for the service. Your best bet would be to figure out where your sending it to, shop around for who you want to send it, get them in touch with one another and go from there. I believe that's about it but someone more knowledgable should be along to either confirm or deny this.

Touché Timestepper. Definitely important to remember the reason for the season.

Pulled pork slathered in BBQ sauce, brats, a plethora of sides... Washing it all down with miller64, a pitcher of mojitos and some smoky mountain moonshine for the fireworks tonight. MmmmMmmm.

Happy 4th of July everybody! Hope everybody has a good one and is safe with whatever plans you may have. I'll be spending time with my family eating, having a few beers and just generally enjoying being an American. Might go down to Crocket park and see who's playing tonight, might just hang around. What about you guys and gals? Anything fun on the agenda for today?

Yeah and last I checked mind reading was not part of police academy training. I think it's a pretty rotten idea for LEO to be able to demand documentation. "vhere are your papers?!" It would be nice to get the illegals out, but not at a cost to our libertys.

So my "ball and chain" has the condition Crocodile feet
TrickyNicky replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
Haven't had a pair in a few years but really did like them for moments when slippers wouldn't suffice and real shoes weren't neccasery. Cheap comfortable and dang stylish. R_Bert, my buddy who turned me on to them once told me they shine up nice with a bit of shoe polish... -
Well I hate to do it, never thought I would but I disagree with Dolomite. I do believe the potential is good but I've been less than impressed with the image of gun owners presented on any of the shows. The theory is good though, I'm sure they could make a show following many of the members of this forum around that would be great. Anyway, I'll have to check this one out and see how they do with it. Just for the record, what you and I may think of as desensitizing some may consider confirming. As in confirming that the only people interested in firearms are either backwood rednecks or guys with big attitudes seeking to make maximum profits off the unknowing. No offence intended to any country boys out here.
