I'd most likely buy one for my p32...
-
I seem to remember this being an issue but thought S&W had cleared it up? Maybe yours is new old stock? Either way I'd definitely contact S&W as I've heard they will remedy the situation quickly.

Hi again everybody! Got an S&W M&P .40 for my birthday. Yay!
TrickyNicky replied to musicman's topic in Handguns
I'm to new to remember you but still glad all the same that things are looking up for you and yours. How do you like Gibson all in all? I've heard mixed things about working there but I've always wanted too. Lord knows I've bought enough of their stuff, the least they should do would be give me money that I can turn around and give back to them lol. Congrats on the birthday and gift. -
I've got a few heirlooms that won't be leaving me in this world. Here's a link to photobucket for now, I'll mess around with posting the actual pics tomorrow. Big thanks to Lumber Jack for helping me get this far... http://s1074.photobucket.com/albums/w408/TrickyNickyII/?action=view¤t=535E5954-B599-49FC-BBF7-DAA02D4DA7F2-9572-000009D51FB6D554.jpg First is my Colt Official Police left by my paternal grandfather. A buddy of his was a cop many many years ago and sold it to my grandpa when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Family lore says the poor old guy didn't want it around in case the disease got the best of him and he decided to eat a bullet. Apparently his kid was a bad egg so grandpa got it. Still have the almost thirty year old bill of sale with it. Next are my fathers duty weapons, a S&W 66 and 36. My dad got these at different times in his thirty some odd LE career and they have seen a lot. His 36 in particular resonates with me because as far back as I can remember he has had it. That one was worn all day every day for at least twenty years. He wore out the original blueing and the park job it wears now is starting to go as well, ankle guns sure get subjected to some rough treatment! Both of those are still technically his but he has made it very clear that they are not to be part of the trust when he goes, they are mine. He doesn't even keep them any more, they stay with me, maybe Ill have him write up a bill of sale just to make everything done and over with. The 66 was my first HD gun when I moved away from home. I lived with a bunch of hippies and didn't feel safe so he let me borrow it for the duration. My maternal grandfather also left a slew of hunting rifles and shotguns to whoever was interested, aparently I will be getting those one of these days but my uncle is hanging onto them for now. I'm glad he has the connection with his father as they were hunting buddy's and I know they are in a safe home until I take over. I feel almost bad for my future kids, they are going to have a room full of guns passed down through the generations when I go. Between the current heirlooms and all my stuff they will need a lot of space to store it all!

I think it came out great, I'd be proud of that. If you told me you bought it at the show I'd of believed it.

Chicago considering "Gun Tax"....
TrickyNicky replied to williamsburg's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If you mean the cost that goes with the 4473, Tn is not alone. Ca also charges $10 PLUS the FFL can collect $15 for themselves on state mandated private transfers, that's on top of the $10 for background check. You HAVE to go through a dealer to privately transfer a firearm there. So maybe I'm a bit jaded on the topic but all I see is better deal here. When you consider the average sales tax for most gun purchases is between $40-$100 the ten bucks doesn't bother me too much. The ammo tax is so small it doesn't make any financial difference one way or the next for the buyer, plus it's the same ten cents if you buy a 50 round box of .22 or a 500 round can of 7.62 knowing the money is going to a good cause also helps a lot. -
More wackiness!!! So I cheated a bit and called my old LGS and spoke to one of the guys there. We are both right, as of "a few months ago" there are indeed CA legal Colt Ars. Some are still a no go but others are allowed. So yes a civilian can own a Colt AR in Ca.... However the odds of OP owning one of those particular models is probably not high sooo, we're both right.
-
You could very well be right on the money. I have to admit I never paid all that much attention to the Ca legal ARs while I was there but I could have sworn Turners outdoorsman was carrying Colts... Maybe for LE only? I thought one of my range buddy's had one but could be mistaken in that as well. I've spent enough of my time at this point scouring over the DOJ site so I'm not really feeling to inclined to do it again. What part of Ca did you live? I see your USMC so I'm guessing San Diego?

New fighting bowie from the Flatwoods Forge
TrickyNicky replied to Spots's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I'm really liking your stuff Spots. They have a very cool raw civil war era look to them. Nice job. -
Come on people, lets get this show on the road! How often is the chance to demo a handmade Bowie going to just fall in your lap? I'm surprised there aren't more people ready and willing to help a brotha out.

New camp knife. My first "custom"!
TrickyNicky replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Now that's sharp looking, pun gleefully intended. I really like the point on that, looks durable. How thick is the blade? -
Nice! I like the looks of that real well, it just looks like it means business. I've got to get down there and try one out.

Best part was about .55 into it were one of the sheep gets separated from the terrified masses then proceeds to haul tail to catch back up to the group instead of enjoying the freedom from wabbity persecution.

Great news dude! The power of a positive mind is truly an amazing thing, a bit of modern medicine usually helps too. Glad things are looking up and I'll still be rooting for you guys.

TrickyNicky replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
I'd just move right on in and start walking around nekkid. My pale fat a$$ would be eating Mac and cheese right out of the pot with chopsticks while sitting on her bed. BTW, I can get by easily on four hours of sleep every night, hope she likes the musical stylings of the Canadian Black Watch bagpipe team. -
I don't think there are any issues with Ca complient Colts being brought into the state. IIRC my LGS had several Colt Ars for sale when I left. There's also a big difference in what an FFL can stock for sale and what a citizen can own. For instance lets say I have a handgun not on the Ca approved roster, not a problem to bring in also not a problem to transfer through an FFL but they themselves cannot stock that handgun. Confused? Wait it gets worse! Los Angeles county has its own separate special list of handguns prohibited for sale, common sense would tell you that possession of said handgun would also be verboten, right? Wrong! One can easily (and legally) go into the next shop out side the county limits and pick up that baby scaring, evil undersized pistol no problem. In fact one of the shops I used to frequent was in Culver City, tucked into LA county but not part of it, like an urban island of freedom. My last bit of advise on the topic is simple. When in doubt, bypass the gun forum roll up your sleeves and get onto the CaDOJ site. Good luck in Ca.

I'm with Dolomite, sounds like bad batch of ammo. My buddy, his dad, and my brother all have p95s and that's the one gun I can't seem to get to jam up. I've tried limp writing almost to the point of having the gun leap out of my hand and it just won't fail to feed. Get some more ammo, as many different brands as you can and run it through its paces again. I've never seen the Ruger that didn't need a good clean and lube right out of the box. So that may help though to be honest I'm still leaning on the ammo. Good news is if (and I highly doubt it) your gun is at fault Ruger will make it right.

Gun sales hinge on Obama re-election…?
TrickyNicky replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Meh, just don't see it going down like that to be honest. It doesn't seem to be "their" way. Anyway doesn't really matter to me, I only buy the occasional gun to keep it out of criminal hands. They get trades for gas cards with the local pd about twice a year. -
A bit unusual but hey, I'd shoot it.

Derka-Derka-Dooo!!!! -
Have to make a correction, my father was one of the inside weak side carriers. Been almost half a decade since he carried in that fashion but still surprised I forgot. Either way one thing I said stands true, you gotta try a few things before you figure out what works for you.
