My Walmart is completely out of .22 LR and Mag
TrickyNicky replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
I've been buying 2-3 federal bulk packs and 1-2 100 count 12gauge. I'm also about half way to my goal but then again my goal is not a tangible number so much as a certain volume if space. -
Graycrait, let me know what tubes you need. I've got a small box of about 2dozen Misc tubes so I just may have what you need. If I've got them they're yours, if I don't I may be able to point you in the right direction.

OMG, instant classic! I really like the whole "Blair witch project" type vibe he had going on with the shacks camera and filming in the dark. I know that anyone planning on committing a home invasion on this guy will give serious second thoughts after learning that he is awake instantly when they kick his door in at three in the morning. I hope all you parents made particular note of the fact that your 6year old daughters MUST be prepared to make a head shot into a 1"x2" section of a moving target while under the pressure of a hostage situation. Start training them now. Seriously though isn't this the same guy who made a video stating that whenever someone breaks into his house he just shoots em, turns off the lights and deals with it the next night by dumping the body off the side if the highway? Anyway, thanks for posting, I loled all the through and needed the laugh.

Are you looking to just replace the old caps tubes and resistors or swap out the guts for modern PCB boards? I'd highly advise against going too modern, those olde time radios are getting harder and harder to find and at least IMO are quiet special. I would buy a Bose system before permanently altering anything on it that did not need to be replaced. Having said that, it's yours and of course you can do with it as you see fit. I would look for a tube amp repairman. They may not be able to help you but may know someone who can.
StG 44! One of my favorite weapons from WWII and father to the AK-47. They'll let her sell it and probably some gun shop will buy it and put it in their rental case. That'd be a crying shame!
Doubt that pretty highly. If she's able to sell it the FFL will most likely turn around and resale it rather get it all goobered up by the unclean public. That one will most likely end up in a collection somewhere if she's actually able to sell it.

Well while not on your list any of the Ruger MK or 22/45 models will feed anything, last a lifetime(or two) and be very accurate. If you haven't got one of those that's where I'd start, they may not look as cool but are one hell of a firearm. For your budget you could have two. Also the sr22 seems to be another well made piece. I've only had one for a little under a year but so far it has fed all kinds of ammo from high powered to bulk and CB rounds though you do have to manually cycle the slide for CBs. It has also proved itself to be accurate beyond my limited abilities. It is a simple and somewhat robust design, I have no doubts I will get many years of enjoyment out of it. The MKIII and the sr are the two pistols everyone seems to want to shoot when we have family range day.

Looking good! My next gun is an M&P VTAC so I'll have the VTAC sights going for me but on the next one after that I may give those a try.
Excellent show, my wife and I watch it together! My wife wants me to grow my hair out, and never shave again! I bought her the DVD's for Christmas!
Way, way, way ahead of you bro.
"Pranklin Gun Shop - Over 6000 Firearms and 1 Azzhat" : /
There's at least three there. Other than that sounds pretty much spot on.

Love that show. Best episode bar none was when Si went to career day and taught the 1st graders that freedom int free. "Any of you kids ever heard the term Nam?" It's obviously scripted but I think a bit less than other reality shows. A night watching Duck Dynasty? Happy happy happy.

Burglary suspect, held at gunpoint, calls 911
TrickyNicky replied to QuietDan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Should you call 911 after you kill an intruder?i mean its no longer an emergency. They have a number for non emergency calls.
Personally I won't be the one to declare someone dead even if half his brains are two feet outside his head. Not my job and I'm not qualified. Someone gets shot on my property I'm dialing 911, with all the talk about some of the outrageous things folks are worried about getting brought up in a civil suit or by an over zealous DA it seems not dialing for medical attention would be at the top of the list of things to consider. How would it look to a jury if a slick attorney started turning it against you? "So Mr. Nicky, after shooting my client you chose NOT to call emergency services, why is that?" "He was dead." "So your a doctor Mr. Nicky?" "No" "Yet you felt compelled to make a judgment call reserved for trained medical professionals?" "It was pretty obvious he was dead." "Are you aware that many people have suffered similar serious traumatic wounds only to make a full recovery?" "Well he looked pretty damn dead to me." "Is it not possible that given proper medical attention my client might still be alive today?" "Hell if I know." "Hell if you know indeed. No further questions." ---------------------------------- Yeah, not me. I'll just go ahead and make the call. -
Glad CZ took care of you, it would be nice if these kind of stories were the norm but unfortunately service after the sale has become something of a pleasant surprise if/when you find it and not something I expect.
-
I wouldn't give it a second thought. Get a bill of sale and hang on to it. I keep all of mine in a large cigar box. It's at the point where it's starting to over flow so I'll start another box soon and throw the full one in the closet and move on.

Trying to find a crate of Mosins
TrickyNicky replied to AlvinCYork's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
What is wrong with me. I only have I 91/30 and 3 440 rnd cans and 1 300 rnd can. I need an M44 really bad.
You sir are ahead of the curve. Nothing wrong with that. -
Just a little bit outside of your range but I'd give Jeff over at G&L a call first things first. Class act all the way.

TrickyNicky replied to AlvinCYork's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I buy the 300rd cans that are already on stripper clips.
Those work. Of course you'll need three of those to every two of the 440s in the algorithm above. -

TrickyNicky replied to AlvinCYork's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
You do realize your bound by honor to keep at least 1 440rnd case of ammo on hand for every two rifles right? This could get expensive quick. -
Lol, for just a second there I thought it was real and got excited. A combat ready spatula would be a must have IMO.
-
Looks very good! I've got a refinish project coming up that I've been putting off for a while, may go with a similar finish.
-
Wow, just wow. Me? Na, I'm not jealous. Good for him. Good for him. Ok, maybe just a bit jealous. I can't help it.

Anyone ever send a gun to Ruger to get it reconditioned?
TrickyNicky replied to jwinter's topic in Handguns
If everything's working fine I'd forgoe sending it in to Ruger. If all your looking for is new springs you can most likely replace them yourself or just have a local gunsmith take care of it. I'd have no qualms sending anything in that needed it, Steelharps story is a sad one but not at all the norm. Although I doubt I will have them refinish anything for me which is in part due to Steelharps saga and also just because I'm sure I could find an independent gunsmith who could do it better for less. -
C&R Transfer Question for the Pros
TrickyNicky replied to 3rd24thindian's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Do you have a C&R? If not, get one and make life easier on both of you.
This. -

Ah Mila, blessed with a double dose of good looks but when God was handing out brains she thought he said trains and said "no thanks, I've already got a set". It's unfortunate, there are more than a few pro2A celebs out there but they tend to stay quiet on the matter. Sure wish their anti counter parts would take a page out of their book.

I've never been in a combat zone so I really have no room to second guess his actions in the incident, tell the truth I don't even know what expected protocol would be in a situation like his. What chaps me is the attitude, this guy has ironically enough a huge case of little man syndrome. Can't stand someone with a superiority complex as bad as his. We are in a "golden age" of weapons and hand to hand training with so many experienced individuals willing and able to teach that for my money I'd choose to go with someone with a little more humility. I'm sure he's a good trainer but personaly not for me.
