1. Yeah it's all too easy to spend that money. Wish I could earn it as fast as I spend it. Congrats on the new Glock.
2.
My wife's grandpa sent me in the house to get a key to something out of his man drawer in his dresser. Beside the keys was a beautiful ivory gripped Colt with gold inlays that was a gift to his father in a presentation case and a couple rubber band bundled stacks of what looked like about $1000 in $2 bills!
Now that is a BA man drawer right there. Add a bottle of 40year old scotch and it couldn't get any cooler.
3. Woah woah woah, what's wrong with KFC? Did they post or something?
4.
Voted. 98.32% NO Edit:dang it, Tricky! Always stealing mah thunder! :)
Thas jest how I roll!
5. 98.32 No. Voted.
6. I just started bowling again this year. I used to be on junior leagues as a kid but hasn't been in probably 10-15 years. I'm enjoying it, it's not as much fun as shooting but at least it's much cheaper.
7. Snowing in brentwood as well. I'm loving it, wish it would stick though.
8. Got a chance to check it out this morning, great video as usual. He's not kidding about the 20lb trigger pull, these things are hard to pull in double action. Single action is still pretty stiff but doable. After watching I also saw a vid of a guy who threaded his and ran it through a suppressor, way too cool!
9.
anyone watch his video on the nagant revolver?
Not yet, I'll have to look that one up. The Nagant revolver I one of the most interesting handguns out there IMO. Mine has never been shot (by me at least) and looks brand new. I can't really imagine wanting to shoot it but for the money I'm glad I own it. Mine is a CCCP marked one which is kind of cool, CCCP is commie for SSSR.
10. Well in that case... I am soooo glad that Robtattoo likes his mini cannon. Rob, you are a hard guy to shop for but seeing that you were into black powder it seemed somehow fitting. Figured the mora was a safe second present as I'd be hard pressed to find a TGOer who couldn't put one of those to good use. Glad you enjoy them, tell your wife I'm sorry, don't want to be on anyone's hit list...
11. Not custom, I flipped through the dealer catalog at the alley and just knew I had to have it once I saw it. It's a great ball looks aside. Goes where I want it and throws the pins.
12. Some nice additions anyone would be proud of. I'm starting to think a guy can't have too many M&Ps and those Shields seem to be quite the popular pistol.
13. ^^^So are we revealing who are giftees are now or was that just clarification on the snare question?
14. To be frank, I'm more embarrassed to do any buying than I would be about selling. I'd really like 3 more pmags and some GI mags but I won't be blowing half a weeks pay to get em. I'd also like to grab some ammo but can't even find any to price out.
15. Anyone else enjoy a good game of bowling? I'm on a Sunday night league for fun and really enjoy it. Grabs pitcher of brew and I'm good to go. Anyway, got myself a new ball yesterday that I really like, now I know some of you will appreciate it and some of you may not think that these images don't belong on something like a bowling ball. Know in advance that I am a proud American and choose to show that wherever I can. Well here she is, one side And the other Lets see yours.
16. Oh man a gun site in 300blk would be sweet! Count me in.
17. That's been one of my concerns for some time now. I find another ban unlikely but taxes are a whole other ball game. It is probably the most likely thing to happen IMO and could be almost as effective as a ban. Looking through the Internet last night I found a 500rd of what I assume to match grade 22. for sale. Never heard of the brand but I do know that a$90 a box they'd better be the best damn ammo money can buy. Luckily I've been stocking up a bit on a few calibers but until this all gets sorted out I don't even want to shoot what I have.
18. Total BS. Hopefully the truth comes out at some point otherwise we may be looking at an all out panic induced shortage on 22. Er wait....
19. I for one have no idea where you went. I have a few ideas but could be off base. If rather of the two places I'm thinking is it, maybe instead of making a forum rant here you would be better served finding a place that's more inline with your budget. I make very little money around 20k a year and hate having to spend so much to shoot but its what I choose to do, it's hard to get all worked up over the fact that I've got champagne tastes and and a Budweiser budget. If the place Im thinking of is where you went, even though its a bit spendy the cost is IMO worth it. Anyone remember what uslesstons was charging for a year for their double secret super diamond memberships? I want to say in the ballpark of $1000? Now there's over priced!
20. I got some great stuff but aside from two nice range bags and 200 9mm nothing gun related from the family. Got myself an M&P VTAC as an early gift to myself so nobody feel bad for me. I think best thing going is paid vacation up until the 2nd to spend with family and relax. If I can find some darn ammo I might even try out the new pistol.
21. First and so far only rifle? While I love my Mosins I can't imagine not owning a 22. A nice remington 597 can be had for $200 or less new before tax/background. If your like me you'll find yourself shooting that little 22 more than any other five calibers combined.
22.
boes nashvi;;e armory let you keep your brass
Last time I was there I swept it up dumped the 22s and kept all my 223. I asked the RSO and he said it was no problem whatsoever.
23. Lester is right on to a point. A good setup can make a world of difference in any guitar regardless if cost. As mentioned, I'm big into DIY when it comes to guitars. Electrics in particular are easy to adjust and if your already set on paying a tech I can see no reason not to try your hand first. I would avoid the truss rod until your familiar with how they function but the action at the bridge, intonation, pickup height can all be tinkered with to one degree or another. One of the best investments I ever made was a set of books by renowned luthier and repairman Dan Erlewine. As a collector/player with about a dozen guits in the current stable, it has saved me a bundle considering I'm a firm believer in a good bi-annual setup. At $45-$60 a pop that would cost a small fortune every year.
24.
Private sales aren't legal in Cali I don't believe.   You try & do this, and you'd be going to prison unfortunately :(    All guns (at least in my understanding) purchased have to go through the "Cool Off" period of 3/5/10 days (something to that extent) and then the gun is actually REGISTERED in your name.   Atleast, that is how I last remember it when I lived there :)
10 days, ALL transfers required to go through an FFL. Technically even loaning a gun to someone is supposed to be done through an FFL. One funny thing, a guy I used to work with almost a decade ago was convicted of felony charges about three years ago. Last year he was cleaning out his house and found a GP100 he had bought and forgot tucked away in his closet. Not wanting to violate his probation (or another federal law) he offered to sell it to me on the cheap. I insisted we go through an FFL and if there was any legal issue at least it would be found out and we were attempting to do everything right. I fully expected the gun to get flagged or something but the transaction went through just fine. We advised the dealer of the issue and his advise was simply to treat it like any other transfer and for the seller to retain his copy of the paperwork indefinitely to show that he was no longer in possession of any firearms. Why he needs the paper work when they can simply run the serial number and find that it is now registered to me is unclear but whatever. I do find it funny that a convicted felon was able to remain in possession of a firearm for over two years, shows just about how well the whole registration thing really works doesn't it?
