Finished two up today, opinons wanted
TrickyNicky replied to Spots's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I'm a fan of the bottom one. It seems a smaller knife is just handier to me, especially when it's beefy like that. -
86-year-old Woman w/ BB Gun Charged
TrickyNicky replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Wow I thought I was burning the midnight oil, you guys are an hour ahead if me and still on the boards. I fear the madness has just begun, we will most likely more and more stories like this in the next few months. (EDIT) Sounds like grandma is bat $hi@ crazy. What did she expect to happen? Sometimes you get living proof that age does not equal wisdom. -
+1 on the Rugers. The Mkiii and SR22 have both been very good to me. Both very accurate and have fed everything I've run through them. The MK comes drilled and tapped and come with a section of rail to mount your optic if choice. A sound investment.

That is seriously BA! Also noticed your hat isn't purple anymore, I liked it better that way, was unique.

M&P with an IPhone. Guess that's closer to a Glock than anything so it seems I fit the stereotype.
I use a large eraser to clean stubborn burnt powder off of the frame and cylinder. Comes right off without a lot of elbow grease.
That's a great tip. I'll have to give that a go. Also, love the smell of Hoppes. I've been using balistol and the smell is growing on me, but sometimes I open the Hoppes while I clean just to make the room smell "right" for gun cleaning.

Raoul mentioned impeachment, I'm 100% behind that. Both these a$$holes need to GTFO!
The cylinder is the dirtiest part. I use KleenBore Lead Away for the cylinder face. Other than that the bore snake is the easiest for the barrel.
+1 the cylinder face and forcing cone are two areas to give some special attention. If your truly as mechanically disinclined as you say my tip is to NEVER take the side plate off. It's very rare to have any reason to do so but if you feel that situation has arrived, take it to a competent gunsmith. BTW, when people say "a light coat of oil" they really do mean a LIGHT coat of oil. Apply a little to a clean rag and wipe off with another. Or use a silicone impregnated cloth found at any gun store. If your revolver is stainless, go nuts. If its blued, don't over do it, a few quick wipes with not a lot of pressure should keep it rust free. Also if its blued, make sure to wipe it down after handling the metal else the acids in your skin can reap havoc with the finish. Sorry if any of that was stuff you already knew, just wanted to be thorough.

1k per sounds good to me. Sadly Im far from there but hopefully will get caught up one of these days.

This is a joke right? I mean he IS just having some fun right? That's enough stuff to outfit 3 ARs at least. Needs more mags though.

TNW Aero Survival Rifle - I got it, I like it
TrickyNicky replied to BerettaBri's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I like it. Seems like a handy little carbine that would be fun for the range and good for a get home bag. Now to just find one in 9mm... They picked an excellent time to release these on the market, bet the demand far exceeds their build capacity once people become aware of them. -
You make some good points, but I gotta say, you completely lost me here.
No one on this board needs a mag over 5rds
Also kinda resent the implication that I'm some kind of idiot for not stocking up, especially considering I've only lived in a state that allows full capacity mags for less than a year. Only just got into ARs about 6months ago also, maybe further proof I'm an idiot?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing. Not so much on "when can I relaxe" but more in line with "when can I go back to buying ammo and finding AR uppers at prices that won't put me on a ramen noodle diet." At this point I'm not even going shooting much as I don't want to tap into my "stash". Guess ill be spending more time and money on bowling and maybe buy a guitar or two if this mania doesn't die down soon. I mean lets say the Fiendstein bill gets brought up, and gets put down. How long after that do you all think it will take to see some shelves fill up again?

It was hard to pick but I ended up yielding to the desire to see a Flatwoods Forge kukri. I have a feeling Spots would be able to hammer out a great one.

Just bringing this back to say I bowled a 168 tonight which is incredible for me. My previous high was in the low 140's so quite the improvement. I owe it all to the ball.

$840 seems very fair to me. Good people there too.

They're called Samsquanch up in Canada I believe. My lil brother might just qualify to be part Samsquanch but that's the closest I know of. Come on down to Nashville and I'll let you have a peek, only two bits a gander.

Gun show gun selling question

If I had to guess, the guy with the camera was more likely there to get pictures for a news article/blog than then the gubment. -
A. Coulter: Post a map of women who have had abortions

Terrible idea. Last time I checked two wrongs did not make a right. Can't get behind this at all. -
Koran scriptures being read on opening day of 113th Congress
TrickyNicky replied to jcoosi's topic in General Chat
Personally if given my choice I'd rather see people sworn in with their hand over the constitution, but hey that's just me. Aside from that I'd also rather an individual be sworn in over the book of worship from the religion of their choice. I think a vow that ends in (so help you god) carries more weight to an individual when its said with their idea of god in mind. As far as tradition goes, it outdated IMO. No I'm not saying god is outdated, simply that the idea of one bible to rule them all is. -
I have two similar stories to share about the fine folks here on TGO. A few months ago I got the chance to shoot an M&P VTAC and fell head over heals for them. I made a post asking for opinions and expressed my inability to find any in stock. A few weeks later a member got ahold of me through PM to let me know he had one he was considering selling as he was scheduled for deployment and would not be able to use it. He gave me a HECK of a deal considering his was complete with several desirable upgrades. Most recently I mentioned in a post my displeasure at not having procured enough AR magazines before the pricing madness began. Within 48 hours I had not one, but two offers from different members to sell me enough to be comfortable at and below retail pricing from before the madness. I jumped on the first offer and when talking over the phone to arrange a meeting (and just shooting the breeze in general) this GENTLEMAN asked how I was set for ammo. Well having none on hand I just kind of chuckles and said not good. Long story short he agrees to sell me some out of his stash, once again for much less than retail pricing from before the madness. After talking a bit more he also offers up a 22 conversion so now I can actually shoot my AR without burning through precious center fire, once again at a great price. I'm not going to name names to protect the users privacy, but you guys know who you are and all I can say is that the kindness displayed to myself, a complete stranger, truly does touch my often times too jaded heart. Thank you all so, so much! TGO is by far, and I mean far the best forum out there to my knowledge and that all comes down to a to the notch staff, AND the incredible members here.

The remington 597 comes in 22wmr. I think there was one in the classifieds awhile back. I have one in 22lr and love it, if its big brother performs as well you should enjoy it. Very accurate and have had no issues. In fact, thought I feel slightly blasphemous even saying it, I think I actually prefer it over the 10/22.
I'm also looking for my first SKS. I have my eye on the Centrury Arms Norinco type 56 for $379. CA also lists a Chinese SKS with cracked stock for $239. I want to find something that represents a good value and that I will enjoy owning for years to come. What is your opinion on these two guns? Also, is it worth the extra $ to get a hand picked SKS Yugo M59 - $450.00. This is from another dealer, FFF out of Ohio. Thoughts? I'll appreciate the advise as again, it is my first SKS purchase.
I would probably not spend money on a hand select personally. If condition for collectibility was all that important I most likely would buy in person. If your just looking for a shooter, I would look into the model with the cracked stock. If you can get more info on the kind of cracks and if you feel comfortable fixing them. Heck at the price you could replace the stock and still be ahead of the game.

Haven't been in since the madness started but I have a hard time imagining G&L or D&T participating in any gouging. Nashville Armory has also aparently said no to higher prices. First things first I would contact all the TGO vendors and see if they can do anything for you.

I had the same experience as Oh Shoot so it wasn't on his end. I was going through TGO withdrawals last night, how's a guy supposed to sleep without checking out with his buddies?
