1.
I disagree, if she can’t handle a quality firearm she needs to sit this out. I don’t see this happening, but I would support it if the teachers were required to pass the same qualifications the cops in their area are required to pass. I think that is fair, and I don’t think it will be accepted by the parents any other way.   There are HCP holders that couldn’t hit the side of a barn if they were standing inside it. These are not the people we want in high stress, adrenalin charged situation firing a gun. They may be “better than nothing” but fortunately that is not what we are faced with. I think there will be teachers that would step up and participate in the required training/qualifications
So by your logic you'd rather she not be able to protect herself or the children in her class because she can't handle a "manly" caliber? Makes no sense to me but fwiw I'm sure there is a center fire out there she would be comfortable with. She's still good with a revolver...
2. I for one approve of the fact that we're not being bombarded with pictures and stories of the fu&$ stick. That's exactly what these lunatics want, recognition. I'm sure the right people are well informed and still gathering information, information that won't be kept private per say but also thankfully isn't being blasted all over by the mainstream media, feeding the twisted egos of other degenerate losers. I'm all for freedom of information, but in this case I say let people work for it. Don't turn these psycho's into celebrities.
3. Mom and sister both teachers. Mom does K-1st and would do anything possible to put herself between "her" kids and danger. As a former LAPD reserve officer and current recreational shooter I can not fathom a single reason she should not be allowed to go armed to work. Arthritis limits her shooting to .22s but I would still much rather her have her sr22 than nothing.
4.
You still have to pay a $200 tax stamp and submit paper work to the ATF for this oil can suppressor correct?
Yup. The adapter is the suppressor. Still the cheapest option by far at $275 inclusive. Especially considering you can use it for several calibers.
5. Not really a car guy, what's the smallest diameter oil filter that you all think would fit on there? I'm not all studdley like Hickok so I kind of need my sights. Really like the concept on these, I want to surpress a few different calibers so its certainly the most economical, plus its really just for fun so I don't really want/need anything too nice.
6. "Well I used to have a gun. It was one of those Smithin Weston's in 9mm Ruger. It was fun, but then I traded it for a new outboard. How bout you?"
7. He's one of my favorites. His videos are short, to the point and from what I've seen spot on.
8. I'll have to check out some of the ones mentioned, but my favorite fiction so far would be Farmhands Freehold by Heinland. It's a little campy and none to realistic but still a very good read.
9. Whatever I wanted, when I wanted it.
10. No ID required for mag purchases in Ca either. ;) at least last time I bought one. Welcome to Tn from another refugee, if your a firearm enthusiast you'll love it here. My firearms collection grew exponentially in the year I've been here. Then I lost them all in that uninsured boating accident. Shame.
11.
The fact that he was re-elected proves that a great man are f&@$ing stupid.
FTFY.
12. How much are they goug, er charging now? Really wish I had stocked up with AIM when it was $80 for 440.
13. One sure way to know is just to watch the ammo case. Not for ammo but just to check and see that the case is still there. Walmart is not the kind of business to let any realestate go to waste. If we start seeing glass cases full of scopes, binoculars, knives, what have you, then it might be legitimate. I'm still not holding my breath.
14. I don't know, my B.S sensors are ringing on this one. I guess we'll have to wait and see but I'm not buying it.
15.
Whoa.......dude..........lol   Dave S
Oh schnap! I totally missed the first one. Vujade, you do realize that there are good odds BATF reads these forums along with multiple members in LE don't you?
16. Some of you guys can sure talk a lot without saying anything.
17. Rises generally don't like high levels of nitrogen in their bloom cycle, I'd chuck it on the lawn. If your roses are looking shabby look into a good fertilizer and get a bottle of superthrive, that stuff is magic in a bottle for plants.
18.
I won't buy there but i would think the people who work there is not the ones who raised the prices.. That would be the owner i would think. It just really pisses me off the more i think about this. I would not mind buying there in the passed cause i was thinking of it as i'm helping the mom and pop stores.. BUT this is too for i think. Even reloading, the primers or up 50% or more!! I just don't no where to go for my gun needs now.. I HATE WALMART and not a fan of any of the box chains
You need to find a quality shop to patronize. Price gouging in one of these panics would turn me away from an LGS fast. Also noticed your not a Walmart fan. Seems funny you'd shop with people who would resort to business practices I would consider shady at best, yet Walmart has not raised any prices at all from what I've seen. While I can certainly understand shopping with a specialty retailer who's invested in their patrons and the 2ndA in general, I can't fathom supporting those who have proven with their own actions that they are interested in nothing more than separating their customers from as much of their money as possible. I'd rather do business with a handful of QUALITY retailers than anything, barring that I'd give my last dollar to Walmart before supporting a store that would take advantage of a political situation in the same fashion the libs take advantage of a tragedy.
19. Very powerful stuff there. I was just a whippersnapper when this was taken, who is she?
20. I'm not overly concerned as I don't think much will ultimately happen. The only thing I've changed is I'm now on a "catch and release" plan as far as ammo goes, which is to say I'm only shooting half of what I buy and no dipping into the stash. Much in the same way I'm not feeding the market by panic selling I doubt I will go looking for any fire sales later. If someone has something I want at a price I'm comfortable with I'll buy it but I'm not holding out to find $800 rifles for $400-$500 though. It would be nice to have a pistol caliber carbine, but I can wait.
21. Likewise I agree that there were no bad submissions, I just really want to see Spots make a BA Kuhkri. If I had put in a essay it would have been for the same thing.
22. +1,000
23. Any updates? I've been looking at one of these kits myself and so far am only put off my the machining and welding as I'm not setup or even capable of either. I'd really like to build one though.
24. Walther P1and P38 can be obtained with a C&R and are good shooters to boot. AIM has two cool hangins that are nifty but not IMO shooters, the Nagant revolver and the Star 9mm 1911ish Model B. The reason I say they're not shooter is because of the outrageous trigger pull of the Nagant and the star can and most likely will have feeding issues. The Nagant is a cool piece of history, and the Model B is a sweet shooter when its functioning correctly.
