1. Couldn't find a price, bit that I looked very hard. For $250ish I think it'd be interesting but pretty far down the list as far as actually buying. Any more $$$ and I'd most likely be out.
2. Argh, can't view video over iPhone. This sounds like quite the vid in too of it.
3. P.S.... Good job scoring some great stuff, it had crossed my mind several times just how wrong it was you being a Marine without a good rifle. How can a rifleman be a rifleman without a rifle? Glad you got that sorted out.
4. I know exactly how you feel. This mess started off as a modest 4 gun collection a year ago. Like rabbits I tells ya.
5. "Whatever happened to Axle Rose?" Obviously one two many chili dogs...
6. I may be an optimist but I'm holding out hope that this will end as well as possible. I'm thinking that the longer this goes the more the guy will get to thinking about his situation and hopefully let the kid go. I think if the crazy old bastard was planning on escalating the situation he likely would have by now. I'd really like to see him let the kid go then off himself saving the taxpayer the expense of a trial.
7. Like I said, not singling anyone out. A few people have held onto it for awhile, your not alone. At least it sounds like you've got a reason. Being on call with the FD is IMO certainly a good cause. My intent is not and has not been to make anyone feel bad, or to make anyone look bad, I simply want this pass around to be a success so I can demo more stuff from the Flatwoods Forge. Hope everything works out for you regarding the weather, Mother Nature can sure be a pisser sometimes.
8. Romantic ideas of the past generations withstanding, I wouldn't change a thing. There's plenty to dislike about where we are today but there's also a lot of things I think we take for granted. Plus, I like who and what I am. given that we are all in someways products of our environment I wouldn't change. No, if anything I'm more curios as to the future, I sure would like to be alive in 2076 for instance.
9. Come on guys, not to single anyone out or call anyone out but lets get with the program. When we signed up for this Spots had a few easy to follow rules; have fun, take pictures, keep it only for a week. I fully understand that life can easily get in the way of little stuff like this but that's, well, life. Keep it a week and send it on. I'd love to see more pass arounds coming out from Spots but if we screw the pooch on this one, that's just not very likely. Lets do this right.
10. Does that mean you jumped on it? At this point it is most likely gone if not.
11. No video here either? I think I get the gist if it though, you all are talking about the saw that Seneca the difference between skin and wood and stops and retracts correct? If so I had heard that this was not really new when it came out a few years ago, the problem was with cost to implement as well as essentially admitting that older products were dangerous. Am I right?
12. Jeff over at guns and leather is an all around smith. Also the guy at lock stock and barrel is an old school smith as well, could probably get one of them to take care of it for you.
13. Plus if you hate it, I'll give you $400 for it. ;)
14. Go buy it now! If you want it and the cost won't affect your lifestyle this is likely the best price you'll find on one in awhile. As to the conversion, by the time you find the parts, mags, and ammo you'll likely have all the info you need.
15. Not ammo related but the Cool Springs Walmart now has a sign limiting the sale of AR style rifles to one per household per 30 days. Looks they are taking some big steps to keep up with demand.
16. I'm actually glad that my interests have progressed more twords guns. I am also a guitar junkie and those start getting real spendy real quick when your interests are American made. On average most of my guns cost $800.00 or less, with $300.-$500. Being the average. When I look at guitars or amps $500 is about the low and escalate to about $2500. The real killer for me is ammo costs. I can keep all my guits in fresh string for a year on about the cost of one or two days at the range.
17. I don't like the idea of them personally. Can't help but wonder how well they work under extenuating circumstances. Lets say for instance I have something ie; blood, mud, chocolate, paint, shampoo, etc all over my hands. I don't know, just rather have one of the ones with the finger pads.
18.
That's why I'm drinking Yeungling.
A big plus 1 right here. Yeungling has quickly become my favorite inexpensive domestic brew. Couldn't find the stuff out west.
19. Damn hipsters ruin everything. First vinyls, then aviator sunglasses, then beards, then Pabst. Is nothing safe from these A-holes?
20. That video wins on so many levels. Full of LOLs.
21. You know, looking back on it my experience wasn't all bad. I wanted to rent a .40 sig something or another but was short on cash, the counter guy gave me a deal on the ammo and gave me the gun rental for free. I just think that being as I'm about at the halfway point between there and CHMR it kind of a no brainer to me where I'd rather be. Kind of bummed I missed out on the smoking and swearing though...
22. Nagants. Lots of Nagants.
23. Good deal, now comes the wait.
24. Went there once it twice about 5-6 years ago. Can't see a good reason to go back.
25. Found a few at the Academy Sports in Cool Springs as well.
