  1. The packet will have a list from I think 2007 unless they've updated it in the last 6-7 months. One word of advice, if your looking for a revolver don't let the Nagant away your opinion. Horrible triggers and a quirky design. If you want a good revolver for little cash look for and old Colt Official Police. Those are some sweet guns right there, beautiful trigger pull and accurate. You'll be happy.
  2. I've been using them since maybe July or so. Can't complain, good coverage at a good rate, lockout and roadside assistance. I'm happy with them.
  3. There are a few choices out there. Remember it a C&R license, not a surplus license. Get creative and you will see there are lots of things that fall under the approved list. The hard part is convincing people who don't know what is all about to ship to you. For instance, there are certain hipowers that are eligible (and some that are not) good luck finding any hipowers at most of the surplus dealers though. If your looking for a good shooter, get a Walter P1 or P 38. Unique enough to be cool, accurate and reliable to boot.
  4. I thought you could transfer your homemade guns so long as that was not the intent when you constructed it?
  5. I think it's not even that, the goal as I understand is to help make LEO aware that threats can come from anyone, even a pregnant woman or a child. LE is not trained to open fire on a threat upon sight. In other words, these are probably used more as a tool to identify threats than anything else. My dads old department has a hogans alley type setup on their range. When officers walk through they do not go blasting away at every target that represents an armed individual. They train as they would ideally behave on the street, talking or issuing commands and the range master pipes in over the PA to play the part if the individual. Upon contact the armed paper target can talk back, flip around to designate a suspect surrendering or attack. The attack can be anything from the target charging along the rail or a verbal command by the range master. Considering who made what posts in the thread about turbaned skeletons this thread is hilariously sad.
  6. Franklin/brentwood has been dry lately. Maybe I just need a new hobby for awhile.
  7. Thanks for the link, too bad we can't/ won't court them ourselves. I still think Nashville would make a great home for magpul.
  8. No, you'd only be a racist homophobe if it was a black dude wearing a teddy, not holding one.    Very well said, couldn't agree more. You'd think with all the reall issues going on these days we could just focus on the stuff actually happening, guess that's just not dramatic enough for some people.
  9. Wow so sad to throw away a career and personal honor for what would have amounted to what, $3-5,000 a pop. Although I guess the honor was already lacking. Still, seems really stupid to me.
  10. I see what you did there. Lol
  11. Seems like the general concences is that there is no issue leaving magazines loaded. Seems most wear and tear comes from the loading and unloading when the spring gets worked back and forth.
  12. I leave two 30 rounders and one 20 loaded up and ready to go. I'm not worried about an all out catastrophe happening that would dictate otherwise. As for storage, I've got a whole other system worked out for that that works well, at least for now.
  13. 2 out if the last three times I've gone shooting I've been flagged. I usually just leave as I don't want to start anything with any of the "pros" who bring their family's out with them with no training on basic safety. Fu$& that! I pay my dues like anybody else there and I'm going to start speaking up. I shoot overat CHMR and honestly if they don't like it, let em go tell Charlie on me. "Hey Charlie my wife just swept the whole firing line while swinging my BA revolver over her shoulder and spinning around to yell at the kids. With her finger on the trigger. Any way this asshole Nick came up and started talking like I'm not being safe or something, I mean who the hell is this jerk? It's my gun and I know what in doing, therefore he should get bent. Will you ask him to leave?" I'd love to see that! As much as I am a staunch believer in the 2nd, some people have no business operating firearms.
  14. I think Greg handled this one best already.
  15. Your packet should arrive in about a week.
  16. <YAWN> Another thread about this? And before the coffee even? Nothing to see here folks, move along, move along.
  17. Actually the more I think if it I wouldn't mind having a pregnant chick holding big dude hostage target. That could come in handy, somehow, maybe.
  18. Yeah lots of people will make this out to be much more than it is. Of course when we point out there's no story here and certainly nothing worth worrying over, they will be sure to classify us as blind ignorant sheeple or liberal commie sympathizers.
  19. ^^^ something like that might work. It may be that I'm making a big deal out of nothing, I think everyone ended up getting taken care of in the end and most by the people that were assigned them. Actually it may be a good idea to bring the itrader into the mix, no feedback if the gift get there buy a bad or neutral mark if it doesn't? Just throwing out some ideas.
  20. I would consider a trade off. If Mexico registers its border jumpers, cartel members and crooked politicos, then maybe we can talk. Nah, even then I think both Mex and the US have better things to worry about.
  21. Well I've given my opinion from what we know up till now, before making anymore speculations I'm going to wait for more pertinent information to come out. At the end of the day I'm glad the threat is ended, no one else got hurt and the tax payers aren't burdened with a trail and ulimetly to pay to food and clothe the phyco. I will maintain my original statement that the LAPD didn't kill him, he killed himself. At the worst if it were an officers bullet we'd be looking at "death by cop" I'm guessing more like death by self inflicted gunshot. Just to touch on another topic, are we sure that LAPD was in charge? Has there been an official report stating this? Is it possible that San Bernadino would have requested assistance in the form of leadership from the LAPD? These are things that we at this time just don't know, personally with the crap job the media does I won't be taking their word for anything in this case. As to why not set a perimeter and wait him out? Once again we are at a disadvantage of not being there, not being privy to the decisions of the shot callers or their reasoning why.
  22. Walther P1, toks, maks, Nagants, pretty much anything you can get your hands on. It was mentioned I another thread that the good stuff is drying out. Sight up with Southern Ohio Gun and AIM first and foremost.
  23. Teddy. You just can't beat the bull moose...
  24. Been having similar dreams most of my life. Started as a teenager and kept it through adulthood. The most recent I am in my parents old house and am younger again. A bad guy breaks in and I manage to get three shots in him with a rifle before it jams. The three shots have no effect and I'm unable to clear the jam. The funny thing I guess is that as a kid I did martial arts and would have dreams that either I would move soooo slllooooowwww, or would move at regular speed but any contact would be completely ineffective. I wouldn't worry about the dream, it seems the more you dwell in it the more frequent they happen.
  25. +1. Better than a pointy stick. I would also second the recommendation for a 32. I've got a keltec p32 I carry around the house in gym shorts, I barely even notice its there. I think the NAA certainly has its place but I also think that most times a micro pistol will meet and exceed the limitations that would necessitate one.
