  1. That may very well be but the last time I looked at the website there was some fine print that basically said they would only include the service for models that were already designated as convertibles IDK. Mine was not found by any stretch, I had to go to my LGS in Ca and special order it. That was after a brief argument with the clerk that such a thing even existed. Well worth the effort, it is awesome to have 9mm feel like a 22.
  2. Well I think the patch to cheeseburger ratio about equals itself out so its hard to say. ;)
  3. I use old cut up undershirts. The materi being ridged is a huge help cleaning a filthy barrel. Don't ask me why, just seems to scrub better. I go through a lot in the summer so supply is usually not an issue, plus my fat a$$ wears a pretty big shirt so I get a lot from each one.
  4. I'm certainly a 6gun fan but also own and enjoy my semis as well. If I had to pick one out of all it would be the Blackhawk convertible. 9mm/38/357. There's nothing that gun won't do. Except reload fast, that is a skill that is beyond me. I think even an average shooter can reload a standard revolver faster than the fastes cowboy shooter.
  5. He had a few good points but he lost me with the personal attacks. I think it's about everyday that folks on here disagree with one another, the personal attacks and insults are luckily few and far between.
  6. TGO ammo prices haven't been all bad, there are many members here with morals that won't gouge their fellow member. Since sandy hook I've picked up about a dozen AR mags and haven't spent more than $25 on any of them. The bulk of those came from one stand up member who read a post saying I wish I had stocked up before things went crazy. He sold me 9 mags Troy, Pmags, and Colt GI for $9 a piece. Through talking a bit he found out I had no 223 and practically gave me 90 rounds and a bag of tracers to go along with the mags. Then cut me a steal of a deal on a CMMG kit so I wouldn't have to tap into the reserves just to shoot my at the time new AR. Another member sold me 15 boxes of wolf 223 for the staggering price of $4.50 a box. That's what he had into it and that's what he wanted out of it. The $25 dollar GI mags were a trade I worked out for a few NIB remington 570 30 rounders that cost $25 each. There are a few people that should feel ashamed in a few months when things normalize but there are some who have really proven to be good people as well.
  7. Yeah, TGO is almost too much fun to handle. We're beyond the barrel of monkeys stage and well into the shipping container of gorillas stage. I'll send some emails tonight regarding the OP, sounds like it has even less chance out of the gate than Fienstiens but will take the appropriate measures all the same.
  8. They already have been. By the stupid bus.
  9. I don't see any rights being violated, its reall simple, don't like the policies at Vandy? Adios, don't let the door hit ya on the way out. No one is forcing anyone to go to the school, its not publicly owned, take it or leave it. As to the policies themselves, I'll have to do a little reading on them before I decide how much or little to care. On the matter of asking the gov to step in and FORCE a privately owned institution to comply, I don't even need to think about that to know I don't support it. Quite frankly its none of their business and they've got more important things to do.
  10. Very true, of course some of them won't exactly be getting the cream if the crop but if they needed it it would be there. Ammo is of course a whole nother matter. I have enough for me and mine and that's if we're very conservative.
  11. I think your asking two very different questions. The number of guns has little to nothing to do with the number of gun owners. Consider this, I own about 20 or so myself. There are many folks on this forum who own as many or more. Now consider the percentage of TGO members versus the total of gun owners in Tn. And that's just one state in the nation. I think, and am quite pleased that the true numbers for total amount of guns as well as the total number of gun owners is impossible to accurately tell. I think that's the way it is, and I know that's the way it should be.
  12. I wonder if there are more hunters than sport/recreational these days? Of course there is a large section of both that' crosses into the other. Either way, between the sports/rec shooters, the hunters, America does indeed have the largest standing army.
  13. I haven't seen any 22 since before the whole 3 box limit. I did score the last time I bought though, 4-100rnd boxes of 22, 5-20rnd boxes if 223, and 3-100rnd boxes of 9mm. Wish I could score like that every time I went.
  14. The nice thing about quality pistols of this price point is that you can generally shoot them like they're borrowed and still get your dollars worth out of them later by trading instead of selling. I really need to get into the 1911 game. The closest I have is a Star model b in 9mm. I like the ergonomics well enough, just need to find the right one at the right time. I hear so much good stuff about the Springfields and Sigs, maybe I'll start with one of those.
  15. Well for about a month + one could still get all the 12gauge birdshot they wanted. Then everything else stayed dry and all the 12g went away, now all you can find is 20g. Pretty soon the 20g will be gone. The same thing is happening with rifle rounds. Considering how many people have 30-30s tucked away for deer season, quite frankly I'm surprised its taken this long.
  16. That's a very, very scary thought.
  17. I hope Magpul gets to stay because Co pulls its head out of its a$$. I'd rather see a state that's on the edge fall back into the right. Maybe I'm a foolish optimist but I still see hope for many of the states that others here are so quick to right off.

Ive only been a benefactor for maybe two months. Unless something has changed recently he should be able to see the classifieds and can respond via PM.
  19. I'm with Spots. Grow a beard, people leave you alone when they clearly see their girly little goatee has been outmatched by a full on grizzly Adams face and neck covering beard. 60% of the time, it works every time.
  20. Wait, is this for like 10 boxes of 500? If not that's beyond cray cray.
  21. Magpul has always been cool. This changes nothing in my eyes as far as I'm concerned. I'll continue to support them with my money. I just hope they stay firm with the Co agreement, I have no doubt they will though.
  22. Ruger is good to go and very solid and dependable... Just don't send your discontinued carbine in to get reblued. ;)
  23. Browning makes a 1911 pattern 22 that is scaled down from GI spec. I've been wanting one for a while now just haven't had a "need" yet. Having said that, I love my sr22 very accurate, super reliable, eats the cheap stuff like candy. Not quite as small as your looking for but the extra size is worth it IMO.
  24. JAB that cleaned up great. Flitz is really some handy stuff, did you use the pre applied pads or just the polish on a a clean, soft cloth?
