  1. So long story short a friend of mine in Ca might have some extra ammo to sell/give me. Who ships ammo from a non FFL to another non FFL? I think I've had ups drop it from AIM before but can't remember if it wasn't fedex... Any ideas guys?
  2. And considering their usual diet, what did that thing eat?!
  3. Well said. They piss me off something awful but I think if they were right in front of me talking trash I'd just ignore them completely wich is what they don't want. Real life trolls are a lot like Internet trolls, stop feeding them and they go away.
  4. This. I'd keep the AR and just wait until there were funds to buy a decent bolt in a heavier caliber. I haven't voted yet but just to help seal the deal what all do you currently have gun wise? A little inventory of what you've already got would make the decision clear IMO.
  5. Like AKGuy I use the small the most but also like the lrg as well. It's kinda wierd that my preference is for those two.
  6. Not to discourage you but two things you should be aware of if your not already. An American or European fiddle is going to be pricey new, look for a good used one and save yourself some cash. The other part of this is the bow, good ones are $$$ Second is that with the possible exception of the accordion, fiddles are some of the harshest sounding instruments in the hands of beginners. You'll most likely want to schedule your practice time when no one is around to keep the piece in your house. Now once you get some chops and get your technique you'll be able to play IMO one of if not the most expressive instruments out there. Good luck!
  7. Looks like a gator to me. I feel pretty confident in my assessment as I've seen every episode of swamp people at least three times. Plus I stayed at a holiday inn express. ;)
  8. Hell he'd make a nice alligator suit.
  9. It's certainly interesting looking. Wouldn't mind having one myself for the right price.
  10. With that in mind this may indeed be an issue with Walmart. Still, they are most likely not doing it to cheat you out if your .30 those stamps cost money and the revenues go to the state. Maybe contact the manager and get the skinny straight from the horses mouth.
  11. Man that cop was seconds away from being taken out along with his car. Thank the lucky stars for whatever made him walk away when he did. I'd be needing a change of drawers personally.
  12. Hey, I'm volunteering to own it, not shoot it. I'm pretty sure it would make a handy EDC if you were inclined to open carry it. Bad guys would take one look at that and say "never mind, maybe I'll get a job after all." Seriously though, when we were younger my friends and I would have contests seeing who could fire the heaviest 12gauge loads one handed. My record was I think 6 3" slugs in a sitting. Want to talk about a sore arm? Afterwords you'd feel like you just arm wrestled Mike Tyson.
  13. I imagine hunting rifles and large caliber revolvers are pretty "Alaskan". Personaly sight me up for one of them mosin Nagants converted into a handgun. That's a bear stopper right there.
  14. Better than what we've got I suppose. I so find it ironic that folks in England have to jump through more hoops to have a firearm than they do to buy a suppressor. Suppressors in the UK are no registered and not even really controlled at all. You stop by your local shop, pick the one you want, lay your money down and go home that day with your new toy in tow. Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?
  15. Well considering that this is a gun forum from a class3 friendly state I'd be shocked if any one was against the idea. The laws are unconstitutional at best and tyrannical at worst. The idea that FA weapons or sir pressed weapons are somehow more dangerous than any other is IMO laughable.
  16. Meh, Glock shmok. If I'm going somewhere expecting trouble my carry piece would be my AR, hands down. "Taking a rifle to a gun fight is like taking a chainsaw to a knife fight"
  17. I just enjoyed a beeping helping of beer earlier tonight. It's a Sunday night tradition for me, couldn't imagine my life without my favoritest beverage. Ditto on the pilgrims, how do you think folks used to make month long voyages before the days of water purification/filtration? One word for you, BEER!
  18. All my 100 packs have been 4 boxes of 25, each with its own tax stamp. Likely this is nothing to with Walmart so much as a state level issue. It's important to remember that Walmart, or any other retailer for that matter only collects the tax not profits from it. Additionally, they are not payed for the service of collecting tax. It is something they HAVE to do. Any frustration towards Walmart on this subject is wrongfully placed.
  19. Just tell him you love it too much to see it go but you'll give him right of first refusal should you change your mind.
  20. Nope, I've got a little list myself of people who I won't do business with. In one instance they've actually had something I'd be interested in, in another they've posted a want add for something I've got that I wouldn't mind parting with. Either way based on what they're asking for the stuff I don't need, I'll do business elsewhere.
  21. Way to rub it in. ;) I had one a few years back that I got for a song, like new condition, holster, and most importantly 4 magazines. Was a real beauty, sold it back to the friend I bought it from for what I paid for it once he realized how foolish his mistake was. Should have told him to take a hike and kept it.
  22. I think that the very very idea that Gov agency's would plan an all out assault on the heaviest armed civilian population in history using hollow point pistols caliber ammunition is absurd. People need to start paying attention to the real threats to their freedoms and stop jumping at their own shadows.
  23. Very nice, one of these days I hope to scratch the Sig itch along with the 1911 itch at the same time. I figure its worth spending a little bit extra to kill two birds with one gun.
  24. Remember, guns don't suddenly "go off" on their own accord. It's not what I would consider the smartest thing to do but still IMO safe enough. Having said that, the model does in fact have a dual purpose safety. Primary function is keeping the instances of unplanned discharge to a negligible level. Secondary function is to keep the wind from whistling between the owners ears.
  25. Same in the brentwood area. I actually liked Palin's speech so wasn't to bummed out. Thought it was great the way she went from talking about the 2nd A to drinking her big gulp. Also liked her "don't drink Sam Adams, THINK Sam Adams" advice for the college Republicans. I can always watch Southland tomorrow.
