  1. Damn brother, that knife may be my favorite yet from the forge... Although the Bowies have all been great too. As to the wrecking bar, that is one sweet piece of gear. Looks brutally efficient.
  2. It sure would! Unfortunately I'm building on a budget with this one. :( So I think I know where I'm going with this one. I'll update with pics when all is said and done.
  3. Welcome aboard from a fellow Ruger nut.
  4. Beat me to it. It would be perfect if it could hold a pack of smokes and a bic.
  5. Wow. That sucks hard. I thought he was a fantastic actor, it really seemed as though the roles he played were written just for him.
  6. I'm familiar with the debate, I just can't imagine any LEO in their right mind that wouldn't understand you wanting to keep silent until you had a legal representative present. You think they wouldn't do the same if they were involved in a shooting, on or off the clock? They might give a cursory explanation for what had happened, which is fine, and then have an attorney and/or union rep present for the investigation interviews. It's well within your rights and IMO certainly within reason.
  7. How hard is this, "officer, my intention is to fully cooperate with you (the police) during your investigation. However at this time I am choosing to remain silent until I have spoken to an attorney."   Or maybe this, "Officer, I was in fear for my life. While I do plan on offering my full cooperation through the course of the investigation, I am choosing to remain silent until I have spoken to an attorney."
  8. I'll have to jump on the PC then. I do everything from the iPhone these days. Oh well, thanks for checking OS.
  9. http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=1NjNEQr4lCM# According to this video from Brownells it looks like everything that I want to do is very much possible. I did notice that it doesn't look like he used a delta ring or crush washer. Would I be able to get away with the same? This is what I have so far. Also a bit curious as to how I would go about finding out which gas block/sight mount would be a good fit for my upper. What measurements would I need to take to make sure I'm buying the right one? Thanks for all the help so far guys. Edited to add that I am seriously considering making this one a pistol instead. It just looks so damn cool with what I've got put together.
  10. Does anyone know how to reformat these vids? For some reason or another I can't get them to play. We really did have a blast, and I think I've got our whole "tannerite in the water" issue licked for next time too. ;)
  11. Mmmmm, Chicken Cock. Sounds delicious...
  12. I just want to extend a warm thank you to Spots and his father for having me and my mom up to visit last Saturday. We got to do some shooting, blow up some tannerite and most importantly of all, they were both gracious enough to open up their homes to us and show us around and answer all our questions. We got to see the forge, the wood shop, Spot's parents house, the whole nine yards. The setup that they have out there is so absolutely awesome, they truly have all they need right there on their land. Spots dad is an amazing guy, even if he doesn't seem to think there's anything amazing about building a beautiful cabin with your own two hands using trees you've felled for yourself, there is. In all the buildings we visited you could quite literally see the family history in all the antiques floating about here and there, many still functional. Anyway, if you ever get the chance to go see Spots, take it. You will not find a better host and all around great guy to kill a few hours with. We were only planning on staying until about 2:00-3:00 and needed up leaving around 5:30 after loosing track of time. Thank you again Spots, we really did have an absolutely fantastic time hanging out with you, and mom is still going on about seeing Steve losing his head. I can't wait until I can get back up there and see you all again.
  13. ^^^This. Except I will at least go on record to say that if there are any people who the thought of them owning a gun scares me it is probably the kardashians sisters.
  14. Got paid $7.85 to take it.
  15. Meh, this is even lamer than zombie max IMO. And I've always found zombie ammo to be particularly lame.
  16. I thought, and I'm sure someone will correct me, that endowment level members could bequeath their membership to some one else when they pass. I could have just made that up and be way off base though.
  17. My car is pretty lax. Nothing that's going to get me in trouble with the law. No horsing around with me or anyone else who may be driving. No yelling at or flipping off anybody except friends/family. Or if you shoot someone the bird, do it with your hand under the window Ali G style. If you puke your cleaning that mess up. If you drive my car and DON'T arrange the wheel/seat/mirrors I will be pissed, how are you supposed to safely drive my car if you can't see? Oh, and a family of raccoons crawled up inside of my brothers butt and died. He has the rankest farts ever. He can't fart in my car but other people can go crazy. That's pretty much it.
  18. Yes it is.       As I understand it those are included on the upper I bought. I'm not married to the magpul, I would be happy with pretty much anything. I'm thinking about dropping what for me would be big coin and getting into some diamond shaped sights I've seen for about $200. Can't recall who makes them at the moment but they seemed like a good idea. So maybe since my hand guard is so short I'm better off saving it for the next one and buying one long enough to install some sights on, hmmm. Any other parts that are nessacery to building an upper? Maybe if I figure out what I need I'll get a better grasp of what to buy.
  19. So I am putting together another AR and need a little help with this one as it is the first time I am building an upper from parts. So far I have an upper reciever, BCG, and charging handle on the way and I already have a free floating fore end. I know I need a barrel a gas tube and a gas block, anything else that needs to be purchased? I would like to have a longish barrel around 20"-24" and still have open sights. I don't see a lot of rifles set up that way, am I crazy? I plan on putting an optic on there one of these days but want to be able to shoot it until then. Can I get an adjustable gas block that will fit on a heavy barrel and let me mount a MBUS on it? I'm not totally new to the platform but don't have any idea where to begin searching for parts aside from Midway or Brownels and don't have a clue as to what all I actually need. Any advise?
  20. You know what else CTD has? No chance of seeing a dime of my money.
  21. Go see Jeff at G&L. It's worth the extra travel time and as a bonus you can check out G&L while your there.
  22. This one was good but the pmags one was epic. "They're made out of melted Prinkles lids!!"
  23. Check your spam filter. I get very, very few from sig and the spam filter has caught them all.
  24. Who's the GENIOUS who put that to walking on sunshine? I'm sorry, I loled hard! Actually I'm not sorry at all. Yeah I'm probably going to hell.
