  1. Nope, you can (and many have) use a single action 22. On the test and then carry whatever pistol/revolver strikes your fancy.
  2. I'm game. Can I call December? I've got a few ideas involving tastefully placed party hats...
  3. That's pretty good but I'm gonna have to deduct points. It would have been worth the full score had it been a video of someone throwing a 63' foot axe though. Guess I still win this thread.    Crap, I fold. TMF is the new thread winner.
  4. I'll see your katana and raise you a set of hand forged throwing katanas. Beat that Spots, ha.
  5.    Jeez Robert, sounds like he's got you there. Seriously though I hope this thread goes on another 10 pages. I haven't laughed so hard since that 20 something page chick fillet thread on open carry. On a more serious note I believe I'm finally (seriously) starting to get the itis's question. It's a rurally such a simple question our superior intellects must not have been able to process it. Luckily I've had a few beers so I think I'm ready. The answer is.... Throwing knives. F*+k guns anyway. Am I right? Guys? Guys?
  6. Mind. Blown. Pcshuey!!!! (That's the sound of a mind blowing BTW)
  7. Very true Robert. What has been seen here cannot be unseen.
  8. Well if Ted gets two then I want two! I'll take my Nagant revolver as my second. Why? It's gotta be the perfect tool for some job I guess. Considering my primary two guns fire a total of 5 rounds, I guess I don't need much of a reason anymore? Oh wait, I got it. The Nagant is perfect because I may run into a conversion cylinder to let it shoot 32acp. The I'd have three guns with seven different calibers.
  9. In CONTROL custody no doubt. Shame.
  10. Throwing gasoline on the fire my friend. Imagine how many 7 year old little boys the world would have with awesome name like "Tigerclaw Firedragon Marshall" or "Velociraptor B Jones" there would be running around if you let 6year olds pick their names. Personally I'm gonna go with personal freedom and responsibility on this one and say the current system of letting parents pick their children's name and the kids keeping it until either they convince their parents to change it or they are old enough to change it themselves. It's not a perfect system, but the vast overwhelming majority of the time, it works.
  11.    Ah jeez Ted, ya go around bringing up the notion of two pistols?! I think a certain someone's head might explode! Pretty much this.^ Although like Richard I don't consider any bridge burned or anything.
  12. I picked up one for a bit less in Nashville about a month or two back, haven't seen pics to compare mine with yours and not much of an authority anyhow but I'd say you did no worse than average and quite possibly quite well from an "investment" standpoint. From a "look at this sweet shooting, nifty, uniquely designed piece of history" standpoint you did very well IMHO.
  13. If its coming from his salary its none of our business. I'm not any happier than anyone else with our POS POTUS but personally I won't get bent out of shape over how he spends HIS money, and it is his regardless of weather or not we're satisfied with the way he "earns" it.
  14. Dead wrong on both accounts. Hopefully this ends in reprocusions for the judge.
  15. Not to mention a lack of 2 legged opposition. Imagine a whole city competing for the resources in the area surrounding it. Any way kind of moot, I won't be bugging anything in the event of a social collapse. America will NEVER be mass invaded.
  16. Well that's actually a pretty sensible question, hopefully my answer seems sensible too. The thought behind it IMHO is that I'm not currently living in the ends of time. I have many guns and like to have ammo for all of them on hand. Now I'm not talking about trying to truck along 1,000's upon 1,000's of rounds, but I have some .38 for revolvers that only shoot it, I have some .357 for revolvers that will shoot that too, and I have a lot of 9mm for the half dozen or so pistols (and revolver and carbine :) ) that take it. It wouldn't be to much of a stretch for me to take it all with me, especially when you consider I ain't a goin nowhere without my family. I supply the supply's, they help carry em. If I had to go solo for whatever reason I'd still pick the Blackhawk. I can carry quite a bit of 9mm and still throw in a few boxes of 357 to have on hand should I need to get bigger game or whatever. For the most part the 9mm would do it in a survival situation, but its nice knowing that I have options. Same thing applies to the AR. I can easily pack in at least 4,000 rounds of 22. I'd rather pack in 3,000 and carry some 223 instead. It just creates more options to fall back on.
  17. Well that's the thing, we were never really given choices to choose from. All we got was a question as to what we would choose, a large caliber rifle with a rimfire handgun or vise versa. Apparently my choice was unrealistic, how or why I'm still not sure. Either way the "parameters" of the question change nothing for my picks. Which by the way, I personally find totally realistic since those weapons ARE what I'd grab first. Not trying to troll but what IS the purpose of this thread if half of the answers don't qualify somehow? Are you looking for open honest opinions, or maybe looking to validate your own choices? Nothing wrong at all with the later, just realize folks will have alternate view points of their own. Well, it looks like I'm starting to rant so I may as well let it all out. ;) What is so unreasonable about being able to fire 5 of the most common rounds out of two weapons? How or why is it unreasonable to assume that there may be some scavenging and of trading happening whilst "running for the hills" or even while there? Are we going under the assumption that we'll be all alone up there? What about everybody and their sister who has plans to "BUG out" to the hills? What about the inhabitants of those hills?
  18. My suggestion would be to post a wanted add in the classifieds rather than waiting for a sale add. Could be someone with a Cougar who doesn't plan on selling but would be willing to if someone else expressed an interest. As to the matter of our TGO vendors, they don't post their inventory unless its something really special or they are having a blowout sale. Try calling a few of them and seeing what they can do for you.
  19. Changing furniture is expensive. If I win I'm buying some krylon and shooting it till the new paint wears off.
  20. Oh man, 12 posts in and already this is the most epic thread of the week. Great job guys.
  21. Oh ho ho, don't let Spots find out. ;)
  22. By the end of the night he'll BE an old hammered, broke country music wanna be who is only stripping until HE gets HIS big break.
  23. That looks great man! So is this a forged knife with a ground finish then? That's awesome! A thought just occurred to me, you should come up with some kind of stamp or makers mark. If I could build knifes like you can I'd want my name on em.
  24. Looks like a practical shooter. Good job on keeping your mods reversible, love seeing people take a milsurp and turn it into what they want. Even better when they make it so it can back to stock with a little bit of time and a screwdriver. Good job!
