  1. The 20lb trigger has something to do with it. ;) Also I bought it as an after thought when I first got my C&R and placed an order for a bunch of other crap. I have ammo for it so I guess I might one day, but realistically I have others that are just more enjoyable to me.
  2. Likewise Red, that SBH is the cats pajamas. I might need one if those too, in fact, yup gotta have one.
  3. Almost forgot the black sheep of the revolver collection, the Nagant. This one may or may not be more accurate than me. (Probably it is, I suck) I don't know for sure as I haven't yet and have no plans to shoot it.
  4. Wheel guns? I've got a few... From left to right there is a 50's era Colt Official Police; Ruger Blackhawk 357/9mm; Ruger GP100; Ruger SP101 in .22; S&W Model 66 357; S&W Model 36. I love them all but have a special fondness for the Colt and the S&Ws. The Colt I inherited from my grandpa, he got it from a long time friend of his who was LE. His friend got sick and sold it to my grandpa to keep it out of his sons hands as apparently he was a hood. The S&Ws are some of my fathers work guns from his 36 year career as a Police Officer. They are in my custody as I love to shoot them and he rarely goes anymore, but I hope not to own them for a very, very long time. All of them are more accurate then I am.
  5. I'd block me from your threads too. :p
  6. I'm really more of a Larry McMurty fan myself but I'll check out the interview anyway. Haven't read any L'Amour since high school, maybe it will rekindle some interest for me.
  7.  You actually got blocked from a thread? I didn't even know we could do that! From now on I'm blocking EVERYONE from all my threads, that way no one can publicly disagree with me which means I am by default always right. ;)
  8.    You all aren't playing fair! How's my lowly little Remmy gonna compete with those rifles?! In the interest of fairness you guys should recommend some crappier guns, that way my pwecious wittle feewings won't be hurt.
  9. The CZ bolt guns are supposed to be very accurate. There are about a billion different ways to squeeze accuracy from a 10-22 but my personal preference if you want semi auto out of the box accuracy is the Remington 597. Not as many aftermarket options, not even close actually but out of the box I've been so happy with mine that the 10-22 barely gets any range time anymore. I think the reason I like it so much is that its actually a better size for me, it's probably in my head but it seems to feel less like a youth gun than the 10-22. I'll post some pics here later of both. Mine came with a cheap scope that I've been using and so far have no issues with it. I'll most likely replace it with something a bit better down the road but so far it works. As far as range goes, the 22 is not nearly as underpowered as most think. Anything that should be taken with a 22 can probably be taken out to 100 yards if not more. Of course like the rifle itself all ammonia not created equal.
  10. Shoot Oh Shoot, I've seen most every episode 3 times and I'm probably half your age, great show.
  11. It's true, TGO is pretty much the best. I've had the pleasure of putting some faces to some names and it has always gone well. As far as the quality of people who find their way onto TGO, its like magic is the best I can say. The bad ones don't last long thanks to our awesome staff, and the really bad ones never even show up. I think another big part is it seems like egos don't come into play often, most every forum for any interest has a group of folks who just have to show how bad a$$ they are, or how smart they are. Not here, if someone has a question, they ask. If someone has answer they give it along with any other info they believe may be helpful. No BS, just good folks helping one another.
  12. Hmmm, apology accepted? Who made a big deal out of large font sizes? What drives me nuts is when for whatever reason folks type in really small font sizes, or even worse, they start using the cursive font. Jeez, can't hardly read anything in that cursive.
  13. Meh, bullying, no. Wasting time and money, absolutely. Like if I'm a parent I'm going to need a letter from my kids school to let me know I'm raising a fatty? (Said the man wearing size 46 pants) I'd rather they take the money used for these letters and have it used doing just about anything else. Don't really see what this has to do with Obama though?
  14. Mines a play at the old Richard Nixon nickname tricky Dicky. It occurred to me that I could use the name after watching a Futurama episode where Nixon (president of Earth) gives everyone a tax rebate in the form of a tricky Dicky fun buck.
  15. Thanks Razz. It's a shooter too I tell ya, I can almost hit my target 50% of the time. ;)
  16. Yeah. That would be great. Way to get the excitement up with a thread title only to disappoint. Hilarious.
  17. Yeah it's the 101. Rare is too strong a word for these, uncommon is more inline IMO. Even that may be too strong, I don't know, just know I have been looking for one locally and haven't had much luck before this. Anyway, how bout some pics?! So far I'm loving it, the trigger is a bit heavy, but what else does one expect from a rimfire revolver? It's not bad, just a bit heavy. I may take it down to Jeff at G&L to see what if anything can be done. Other than that its a real solid boomer. Love the fiber optic front site and Calibri is a blast to shoot out of it, so quiet.
  18. Pretty much nailed it Itis. The P95 IS a boringly reliable gun and I've run a few of them on many various brands and types of ammo. My brothers required no real break in period to speak of, my buddy bought a used one so its hard to say with that example and his dad has had his forever so no way to know with that one either. Jesse, PM me if you'd like to have someone else run a few rounds through yours, we'll meet up, I'll bring a few different varieties of ammo and we'll see if we can replicate the failure. Or just watch the events forum and wait for a middle Tn meet and shoot and you can put it in the hands of a few of us and try even more varieties of ammo.
  19. I'm not usually the guy to go crazy over dog pictures, but seriously, how can you not love this face?! Is the red one still available Smith?
  20. No, though I was giving them the eye while I was there. All that talk on the other thread has got me wanting one of them too.
  21. You sir have been awarded 6 internets. Thanks for playing. But seriously, you think the price was a bit high? I couldn't find much on an average used price, figured that with an MSRP of about $650.00 that a fair used price was around what I paid ($425.00) I dunno, seems fair to me if nothing else?
  22. Yeah that's dangerous talk there my friend. Commie talk. Gay commie vegetarian talk. You should be ashamed.
  23. Oh BTW they had another sub2k in stock as well. 40 cal, not sure what mag configuration though. Just in case anyone is looking for one.
  24. On another relatively hard to find firearm. Now this latest purchase is not made of pure unobtainium like the Sub2K but they're still relatively uncommon and NA had three of them. Two were used and one new, I grabbed one of the used ones. I'll give you all some hints and see if anyone can guess what it is. I'll post pics either at the end of the week, or the end of day tomorrow depending on how long I can contain my excitement. Hint #1. It's a revolver, but not a "six gun" #2. Stainless steel. #3. Rimfire. Well lets see some guesses! I will even go so far as to award six internets to anyone who can guess correctly.
  25. My HD pistol is an M&P VTAC with fiber optic and trijicon sights stacked on top of one another. One thing I've noticed is that the Trijicons do very well in low light situations that the fiber optics won't excell in. I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting anything I couldn't see well enough to identify positively. Having said that its not quite as black and white as that. There are plenty of situations I'm glad to have my fancy sights. One of their best aspects is that I can identify my pistol on the nightstand in a hurry. If I had to have only one, for me it would be fiber optic on 9/10ths of my guns as they do better at the range in the daylight which is where my guns actually get shot. Having said that once the trijicon loses its mojo in the VTAC sights, I'll either have them recharged or replace the units altogether.
