Redskins is about as offensive as "fighting Irish" IMO. I have one or two relatives that take exception to the later, me, for all I care they could be called "blackout drunk Irish" wouldn't bother me any, this used to be a free country where you could say and do things like that.

Oh THAT pic, how silly of me.

I have to disagree on this one. I've always worked specialty retail where in I specialize in a group or variety of products, not guns, but similar enough for comparative purposes. When selling a specialized product, retail workers should be expected to know more about the product than those buying them, doesn't always happen and isn't important to know everything, or even to know more than 100% of your customer base, but they should know more or at least as the majority. Also not a big deal that the rail want there, and I don't see the OP's post as pointing that way. The problem seems to be for him, and I agree, that when asked about the rail he was lied to. How else do you explain "based on the serial number that pistol did not come with one."? It would be no big deal to me if the answer was, "honestly, I have no idea and I'm not even sure how to check. Sometimes we make special buys with distributers for guns without extra components to keep pricing down, maybe that's what happened here. I would say your very best course would be to contact the manufacture, they should know for sure." Or even. "Gosh, I'm not sure, I'd better have you speak with a manager." Instead what he got was misinformation, and it sounds to me like intentional misinformation. That's not even getting into the whole "sure we'll put that on hold for you" fiasco. Bottom line IMO, Academy screwed up and later tried back pedaling instead of owning their mistake. Thankfully Ruger is making it right.

Dennis, I'm very sorry for your loss, my thought go out to you and yours in this trying time. At times I think even the best of us allow emotion to overpower reason in our heads and in our hearts. That's part of what makes us human and is nothing to shy away from, provided you realize that this is what's happening. Unfortunately many of our policies are based on emotion and convenience these days, from our nations drug policies, social policies and of course gun policies, emotions run hot and too many vote with their hearts instead of their heads. Or have allowed their and other people's emotions to cloud their reasoning. Once again I want to express my sincere condolences, I do know I would be crushed where anything to happen to any of my family, I think brothers in particular have a very tight bond. Please remember your brother in his better times.

For me I'd have to go Truth and Beckola. I like wired and blow by blow ok but those two for me showcase an interesting period with his stuff. He's getting incredibly proficient, yet he still hasn't gone completely guitarded. Also the only two albums I think written with commercial success in mind, and done well at that.

I'm not even a little surprised how many idiots there are. The big thing this spelled out to me was how unpopular Obama is becoming. It almost seems that the reason people like the ACA better is simply because it doesn't have his name in it. He better rethink his goals and actions or he might not be remembered as everybody's favorite President one day, and we can't have that.

Not so sure about that, guess you could say I'm... On the fence.

Can someone identify this helmet
TrickyNicky replied to Spots's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Oh jeez, no my guys on a roll, I've gotten a list of reasons this can't be real all based on the uniform alone. Sometimes it pays to call in the pros from Dover. -
Can someone identify this helmet
TrickyNicky replied to Spots's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Well I asked the one person I thought might know, he didn't. He did have some info that might help lead to an answer though, his texts are pasted below. I just noticed. The guy is wearing wings. Not RAF, but RAF style. Maybe Jordanian. But they don't wear them on the right side. E Not Jordanian. They look like British Army pilot wings. But they have a lion above the crown. These either have no lion or it is covered by the jacket flap. And, again - wrong side. Unless....they belong to an American (or other) who earned them in UK. Foreign wings go on right side. Edited to add, with Oh Shoots contribution I'm guessing we can call this one busted? -
Good on you Stan, its one little move on y'all's part that will mean a ton to your buddy, likely too much for words. As a former head shaver (ironic if you look at me now) I can actually give some advice I wish someone had given me sooner. Don't use shave gel/cream on your noggin. Shampoo or conditioner is by far and above much better choices. Get it all cropped close, rub some shampoo across and into the stubble and it will come off much easier. Don't forget to clean your blades about twice as much as you would when you shave your face. Don't use an alcohol based after shave up there (or if you live for new experiences, then by all means do) Have your wife buy a silk pillow cover and pop it in the fridge until just after your all clean shaven, then go lay down with your head on it, feels really, really wierd. I e never refrigerated one, and I'm not shaving the head anymore but I'll tell ya, its just wierd.

WalMart FINALLY has what everybody's looking for!!
TrickyNicky replied to musicman's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
It became very commercial very quickly didn't it? That's the media though, they find out what we like then proceed to cram it down our throats to the point it becomes just another show. -
Must be because the cord is green but for some reason that thing now screams "ninja turtles'! I like the proposed and completed changes, they'll make it even more unique. Like uncleJac, I too can attest that this thing is a complete beast.

^thats it, ammo cans for napkin/ketchup etc. A friend of mines girlfriend used to work there when they first opened, I've been hooked since day one.

If your going to burger republic you may not want to carry anyway. They have one of the most awesome beer selections of any resturaunt I've ever been to. They've also got spiked shakes which are mostly good, bourbon maple being the best of the bunch IMO. Kentucky bourbon barrel ale also usually on tap. If you do still want to carry, I'm pretty sure they are not posted, I've looked and did not see anything, if they are its in an obscure location and small. It's pretty cool, good atmosphere and I've always had good service. Try the "buy the farm" burger, my personal favorite and the truffle tots are interesting if your into that sort of thing.

What a crap load of crap. I'm a little younger than some of you all, and a lot younger than others ( <30) and there is just no conceivable way that this would have been handled in a similar fashion at any of the schools I went too. Elementary school would have earned a parent teacher conference. Middle school would have been detention. High school? This wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow in high school, teachers would have just been glad we were not doing anything much, much worse. Maybe would have caught an ass chewing, but that's about it.

Huge Jeff Beck fan here. Like Chester and Lester, Roy, Knopler etc. pretty much Hipowers list plus some others. Some if my favorite work by Beck was his tribute to Les Paul a few years back. There may be better guitarists than Les Paul but his was a very unique style and tone, very hard to nail down and get just right. Jeff really nailed it with his takes though.

Dude that is absolutely killer, I love the shape of the blade on yours. Simply awesome what you all can do in your forges.

You do realize what group your talking to, right? An elected official can't take a dump at 03:00AM with out at least a half dozen members here seeing it as a call to arms. :panic: -

I can only assume this is in jest, if so it IS pretty funny thought, if its actually crossed your mind as a legitimate course of action, well, dang. Just dang. -

 Can't make stuff like that up. Glad your feeling better TS, first the kidney stone last year, then the "incident". Hard to catch a break sometimes. -
Is your gun drilled, tapped and have the flush fitting screws? If so then I would imagine it probably came with the rail and screws. Call Ruger and let them know what's happening. Odds are they will make it right for you and check into the whole "remove accessories to lower prices" BS. I have a hard time believing that's the case, the rail and screws don't come in retail ready packaging, nor do extra magazines, unless they are ordering from a distributer without these items, its bull crap, they lost the stuff and don't want to own up to it. Losing the stuff wouldn't upset me at all, stuff happens. Lying about in hopes of me going away and calling them would really piss me off. I'd rather be told "I don't know and there's not much I can do about it" than be lied to. All above are reasons I gladly wait an extra week or two and spend just a bit more from a real gun shop, I know in your case there were other factors beyond budget, but things like this separate those that sell guns because they want too, and those that sell guns because people buy guns. Send me a pm if Ruger and/or Academy refuse to make this right for you. It'll take some time as I have to locate it but I'll give you my rail if I can find it, I don't use it and it sounds like you had plans on running an optic.

Awesome. Let is know how you like the factory Ruger FO sights, I've been thinking about outing a pair on mine but haven't decided.
