Sums up the last 5 years about perfectly. Of course the GOPs problems go back farther than that. I wouldn't quite put the ACA on the same plane as the whole Kenya thing though. I think for Obama that was a great opportunity to prove to his people that he was too strong to submit to the whims of a fringe few by showing proof. Same with the shut down. Who wouldn't love to give their opposition exactly what they publicly demanded and make it hurt so bad? He got exactly what he wanted out of that which was to "prove" that we needed all the government we have and only a lunatic would say otherwise. He also got to make the republicans out to be a bunch of cry babies who write checks they can't cash by shutting down the war monuments. The ACA on the other hand has and will continue to crap on everyone, including his supporters. He would love for this problem to go away I'm sure. Either way, someone could leak incontrovertible video evidence, with audio, of O punching his own grandmother and he still wouldn't have a shot at impeachment. We need to be setting our sights a bit farther, 2014 is important, 2016 will be as well. Obama is NOT going to declare himself Tsar, or King, and if America does become a communist country in the next couple of years  it will only be the American people to blame, not Obama.

And themselves.

Sorry Chuck, usually we are on the same page but the first part of your post is just plain wrong on a few levels. First, the TSA doesn't violate anybody's rights, plain and simple. True upon their inception, true today, and true of the FAA before them. No one, repeat, NO ONE has a right to fly, period. As the matter of if they increase actuall security and safety, that's a question we really can't answer, kind of like if grandma had balls would we call her grandpa. Now que the "they didn't catch the shoe bomber or underwear bomber" BS and we've got ourselves a good old fashioned TGO TSA thread. :D EDIT to add that the second part is spot on, one can build a bomb or create a toxic chemical reaction out of just about anything.

Wonder if that might have been a bad ammo batch on the quiet. Against all warnings I've fired every kind of CB, quiet, subsonic ammo I can get my paws on through most every 22 I own, semis(of course don't cycle), bolt, lever, pistols, revolvers, the whole ball of wax. Not saying it can't happen or even that it doesn't happen frequently, just that I'd be surprised if it were to happen to you again should you ever repeat the experiment.

It looks like a neat gun and all but not for more than about $500.00 IMO. It does look a bit bulky, wonder why? I mean beyond the obvious "it looks bulky because it is". But wonder what's going on "under the hood" to necessitate it? Anyway I think I'll pass, too many good options out there already between a pistol caliber AR, HiPoint, and the Ruger and Marlin carbines. Plus I guess I just don't need another since I got a Sub2K awhile back.

Guess who's going into the gun business November 16th (AR's and 1911's)
TrickyNicky replied to a topic in General Chat
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I know he's a big shooting enthusiast and all so maybe they will put out some good stuff. I'm not overly hopeful however, I wouldn't be surprised to see flame decals and pin striping all over everything. -
So many possibilities for that hinge pin. One thing I constantly find myself searching for these days is a pen. Every time I need one there's none to be found. Probably something more obscure yet equally useful would be better but I'd even be happy with a ball point insert stuck into a fold or something. I think some kind of blade is a must, fire starting tools would be cool, even if it were just a strip of wet dry paper glued to the inside and a handful of easy strike matches (wax coated) tucked into something. One question since I'm a bit of a kydex newb, will a kydex wallet hold up under the weight of a big guy? I'm pushing 280 so is be a bit concerned about that. I'm guessing its fine since there seem to be a few holsters designed for the back pocket.

Any know where to buy thick styrofoam shipping containers for meat?
TrickyNicky replied to Hozzie's topic in General Chat
When I worked at Omaha Steaks we just used styrofoam coolers with ice packs and put into a cardboard box for shipping. We went overnight deliver 9/10 times. If you used dry ice instead of I've packs you'd probably be fine with 2 day delivery. The gas station on Concord and Wilson sells the coolers, Walmart might have some but I imagine they are a seasonal item for them. -
And as per usual the media hasn't made up their minds yet on just how they want this one to go. Conflicting reports that the shooting happened NEAR the school and AT the school. I'll let them figure it out before commencing my "give a f*ck" process. Not withstanding of course condolences to the families affected.

Yeah, what a bunch of drama queens. <SARCASM OFF>

Agreed with OS. Chuck Berry was and is a pioneer for rock and roll, no doubt many musicians, including John Lennon, owe him a great debt for getting the ball rolling. The Beatles though, well they're the freakin Beatles. Good bad or indifferent, they changed the game for the recording artist. Les Paul invented multi tracking and did some pretty cool stuff with it, once again though its the Beatkes that really opened up the possibilities with it (IMO) I would dare challenge anyone, name an artist who claims to not be infurnced directly by the Beatles, have them write down a list of all of their influences and their list will either be full of those infurnced by them directly or at most infurnced by someone influenced.

Just to throw it out there, when your talking about getting a Nagant and cutting off this or that to lighten it up, then still have to remount a front site, have you considered just ponying up for an M44 or type 53? You can get one of either plus a fairly decent start on an ammo hoard for $300. Plus they're compatible with the archangel stock. No need to cut up a classic rifle when what you want has already been available for almost 70 years. Now that you mention cleaning one up, I wonder what a really competent gunsmith/machinist could do to smooth out some of the sharp edges in the Nagant action. As the receiver sits one could probably jewel the bolt and still not see much improvement.

Apparently ol Johnny boy was a bit of a freak himself. Saw on a documentary that he used to frequent the tranny bar or cross dressing scene in Germany when the Beatles first started touring. So for him a weird little monkey person with no apparent sex one way or the other was probably a perfect fit.

I'm Irish. I've got a hard freaking head. Little SOBs better bring a 2x4 or a wrench or something. That's some really sick stuff there. When we were kids, not even that long ago for me mind you, we used to fight EACH OTHER!! Going up to some random person and cracking their head open? It's just kind of a bitch move all the way around. I doubt you see less than 3 at a time doing this, they need an 8 person posse just to sucker punch someone. And for everyone out there packing heat, now you know it's only a game. Next time someone out of a group of people clocks you one out of nowhere, make sure to remember they don't want to hurt you, it's only a game. Defending yourself would be racist.

Well if its coming from the ladies.... .... ..

Ah jeez, I could write a freakin encyclopedia. Hell I could write a book on things that apparently shouldn't even happen 100 yards from the house.
-
See, that actually sounds pretty cool. A solution to a problem, the stock was broke, you fixed it. What this guy is doing on the other hand is completely different. Plus I doubt you charged $300.00 for your "upgraded" stock when you sold your rifle. ;)

Before even watching your video I almost countered with the Chuck Berry one. WTF?!

My #%&$@ Spike's Tactical AR
TrickyNicky replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I dare say it would probably be my preference to meet up with Dolomite, your AR will be running smooth, plus you'll learn what the problem was and how it was corrected. -
WARNING! Tisas 1911 is a DO NOT BUY or... (Tanker's Revenge)

Who me? Naw, must've been someone else, just figured I'd make a move while your blood was up enough to maybe jump on it.
