I have never been to Bud's in Sevierville and was thinking about going tomorrow. I checked the TN web site and found no way to check inventory or shop for there were no weapon listings that I could find. The KY store has a large online inventory. Am I missing something? I wanted to try and determine if they had what I am looking for before I made the drive.

If you don't like the weather in East Tennessee...just wait a minute. -
I have a JM Marlin .357 carbine and love it. I have never owned a Henry... therefore I must.
-
Uberti El Patron .357, when I find one. Henry Big Boy .357, only problem with the Henry is I want a color case hardened receiver and they don't make that. Go figure. It's all about the hunt.

I had one like it in holster with dress linen I bought from an elderly gentleman in 1982 for $350. That was market rate at the time. My brother begged me to sell it to him so I let him have it for $350 and the condition that if he ever let it go I had first dibs to buy it back for $350. Two months later he called and said he had picked up a Colt Trooper (worth about $250 at that time). I asked what he gave for it and he said "I traded the Colt 1911 even up". I don't even miss him.

Agreed, that is why I stipulate that for extreme precision, especially long range, I can see the need/desire. I can also see where those competing in 3 gun for example may wish to upgrade for the speed factor. I don't run three gun, at least not organized matches. I just differ with the "your rifle sucks because you don't have a Super Duper Taterdoodle trigger" crowd.
-
I seriously doubt that anyone while receiving fire thought, gee my trigger isn't as slick as it could be. I run mil-spec in all my ARs some with PSA polished simply because they were on sale. I may polish them if they feel too rough to suit me. I can see having upgrade triggers for precision competition shooting or long range precision when the chips are down. I don't fault those that want them, I just don't feel the need. I can buy a lot of ammo for the price of one.

Who says you can't fix stupid. Prayers for strength to the shopkeeper.

Well, after about a total of 2.5 hours on the phone with them I am now $15 dollars higher than I was monthly. It seems they won't budge on the little boxes on each TV going from $3 to $5 rent a month. The only reason those ever came into existence was because Congress refused to allow them to charge for the number of televisions in each household so a year later they suddenly have the need for converters, which of course are rented and you need one for each additional TV. Tax increases, " maintaining the sky blue and water wet" fees, etc.

What it's worth, maybe less.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been with comcast for years and have had to do the dance several times over billing inconsistencies. Seems like occasionally the "errors" would fall my way, but that doesn't happen. I didn't think about waiting until Monday. That is a good idea for decision makers may not be available during the weekends. Thanks again for tolerating my semi-rant and offering suggestions.

Agreed. I have mine for short outages ( 1 day to 2 weeks range ) and temporary use. I have other measures in place to operate without electricity long term.

At first glance it appears that they have added a charge for an additional HD box that I don't have and never have had, increased the "rental" charge for each little box at each tv by $2, raised the sports package by $10, increased the "bundle" by $50, etc... I guess I will make a pot of coffee, take a few deep breaths to get my "Chi" on and give them a call...this may take a while. I wish I could find a better option than Comcast in Roane County, I would dump them like a hot tater. I would anyway except my family would mutiny.

Just opened my Comcast bill and found it was $130 higher than normal and we have made no changes or add ons.

My condolences for your loss, the loss of a four footed family member is a special kind of hurt.

We had quite a collection of the "Firestone Christmas Albums" put out by Firestone Tires through all their distributors. Played them on a huge console stereo in the living room. Us kids weren't allowed in the living room except on Christmas Eve and Christmas.

My folks said I cut my teeth on a Craftsman 9/16 box end. I grew up being told the only tool was Craftsman. I realized through the 70s and early 80s that there were other quality tools out there but I had acquired quite a collection of Craftsman. I typically made at least two trips a week through the local Sears store and knew all the hardware/tool Staff by name. All of them were full time employees with long careers with Sears. They were all very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. I went in one day and Chuck the tool guy seemed kind of bummed and I asked him what was up. He said Sears was "phasing out" their full time employees and using assorted tactics to get them to leave and he was about to give in. I had noticed that I had not seen two of the regulars for a while. Before long all the full time personnel were gone and had been replaced with no knowledge part time kids that had no work ethic or any concept of customer service. Forget asking if they had any particular tool because they didn't know what you were talking about unless you opened the catalog and pointed to it. They would then enter the "Number" and tell you if it was in stock. I would have to then go find it because they couldn't tell you where it might be. It was sad. I think it has been nearly 12 years since I last entered a Sears. I miss the Sears I knew. I have a couple of ratchets that need new guts but I don't want what they have to offer. I have more ratchets and they will probably last longer than I will. I hope whoever gets my tools when I am gone will have some idea what they have.

Apparently they realized through article comment that they had skinned their ignorance. The article has been corrected with regard to the cross breed .44.

In 1982 (Pre cell phone era) I leathered up and hopped on my 1978 Confederate Gray Harley Lowrider after work one night and road down to Atlanta to visit my brother. I hit Atlanta just as the Braves game had ended which made a Harley on the interstate at 70+ bumper to bumper kind of unnerving. I took the wrong exit and pulled into a mini market / gas station to find a phone. I noticed that this was probably not the best part of town when I entered the lot but thought I would make a quick call and get on my way. When I entered the market I saw two inch glass with slide through windows for payment. In 1982 this meant I was definitely not where I needed to be and I seemed to be drawing a lot of attention by just being there. I walked to the back of the store by the beer cooler and found the phone. When my brother answered and I told him what exit I took and where I had stopped to call he said for me to get out of there quick and stop three exits down and call back for directions. I had noticed a group of guys enter the front and look around the store, then focus on me in the back and start down the far side of the store in my direction. I hung up and opened my leathers enough to access my Model 66 if needed as I headed for the opposite door. As I got to my bike I was praying that the starter would kick for I didn't figure I would get a chance to kick it. The group from inside came out and started running my way and another group from the lot started my way. My bike fired on first hit, I jammed a gear, popped the clutch and left that lot like a rocket. I felt like Arlo Guthrie leavin' the Dew Drop Inn except I didn't make an extra lap. ( Analogy for those old enough to understand the reference) I was just glad to get out of there without incident. Once I met up with my brother, ( a gas truck driver in the area) he told me that they had to get a Police escort to deliver fuel to that location and two others in that area, anytime they make a drop.
