  1. Thanks for all the hard work, guys - and for slogging it out through the rain and not just canceling the match! I'm probably in the minority, but I really enjoy the challenge of shooting in awful conditions. Except for cleaning the guns and gear afterward...
  2. Favorable weather conditions for the next evolution. ;-)
  3. Dang. I just realized - even with a 12rd tube, I'm going to have to reload the shotgun on two stages. I guess I'd better practice that some. Looking forward to a great match! And really - only four people squadded and preregistered?!?! Come on folks - I know you're coming. Make Alan's life easy and preregister and squad yourself on up!
  4. Ha! It's a rare and expensive material that takes decades and millions of chemical reactions to form, is literally solar-powered, and created by God himself. And it butt-strokes much better than cheap plastic.
  5. In! And it looks more like a Kentucky Long Rifle than a shotgun, but my gamer gun is finally finished. 50yd slug zero from kneeling -
  6. I'm in! Bring the old girl and I'll make her right -
  7. Dang - I'm on an airplane on the 1st, so I'll have to miss another one. Ryan - if you want to do that thing we talked about before I get back there for the June match I can meet you somewhere and pick it up. Let me know when/where is good for you and we'll figure something out. Or if you're in no hurry we can wait until June -
  8. The new Heavy Metal rules might have had a little to do with it too...
  9. No - thank YOU for all your hard work putting on another great match!
  10. Holy crap - 3rd overall AND I beat you?!?!? That's a first! You sure you don't want to check those calculations again? ;-)
  11. Great! I've got a new shotgun all modded up and ready for a full test session before refinishing it. If it can get through a Guapo-fest without hangup I'm calling it good!
  12. In - looking forward to all the rifle!
  13. How did you fit that mag in your revolver? Have you gone all modern on us with a 100 year old pistol now???
  14. Sorry man - I promised my wife a new kitchen this weekend (and the next, and maybe even the one after that if things don't go well!). There's no way I'm getting out of this one - but here's a free bump back to the top. You guys have fun!
  15. We shall have to remedy that, now, won't we???
  16. Special thanks to AXTS Weapons Systems and Mission 22 for the awesome 45/90 ambi safety I won in a random draw today! More importantly, thank you for all you do to bring attention to the fact that, on average, 22 vets in America take their own life every day. I knew this was an issue, but I am ashamed to admit I had no idea it was this bad. This is shameful for us as a nation and I urge everyone to do whatever they can to help. #mission22 www.mission22.com
  17. If it makes you feel better, the 10k course was actually 6.73 miles, so they can't do the math either. ;-) We could do it in rods, chains, or leagues. "I just ran 393,700 inches!!!".
  18. I've seen it, but from what it looks like you just carry all your gear instead of using a baby stroller. I do that already. What am I missing? I've heard an "Ironman East" may be coming to Peacemaker this year - I might have to make that trip!
  19.   7th out of 117 total (81 did the 10k, the rest did the 5k).  Most guys carried an AR, but I'm a stubborn glutton for punishment with the FAL and extra weight.  :-)
  20. I just attended my second Oklahoma Run N Gun, and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.  Details are here (http://www.okrunngun.com/), but the short version is that it's a 10k rifle/pistol match.  Scores are 50% run time and 50% shoot score, and you carry all of your gear throughout.  Here's a highlight video from my run this year to give you a better idea of what it's like:   https://youtu.be/_L7U8M0_1UI   I may have some land available that would work for an event such as this, but I would need a WHOLE LOT of volunteers and RO's to make it happen.  And although I've helped at a lot of different matches, I've never put on my own match start to finish.  So this is no small undertaking.   Not to mention there would have to be enough demand to go through all the trouble to put it on.  In Oklahoma they have 90 paying customers (they run them all in a single day - RO's run the day before) and sell out in a week or two.  Match fees there are $100 each.   Or if someone else has a better idea for a place/person to host this, I am 100% all on board to help however I can.  IF I can get landowner permission we would be starting from scratch with raw forest, so the land I have in mind would be the hardest place possible to do it.  The Oklahoma folks will help however they can, sharing insurance, legal, administration, etc. details and likely come out to shoot too.   What do you think???
  21. I'm very tempted, but I spent last weekend in Oklahoma shooting the Oklahoma Run N Gun (10k biathlon). If I do another match this weekend I may be looking for a new wife. But I'll see how the week goes and tread carefully... ;-)
  22. Wow - 400yd rifle? I'm sorry I'm going to have to miss this one, but will definitely try to make one of these in the future.
  23. That was worth saying twice. Or five times!
  24. Holy crap, Coop - well done!!! We're not worthy!!!
  25. Dangit - I'm out of town again for this one. You guys have fun without me. Maybe I can hit Cleveland or ORSA or something in November...
