A good buddy of mine liked my Model 30 so much he went and bought himself one. When he went to the Store, they handed him both models....the Model 30 and the Model 30SF. Well he feel in love with the Slim Frame model. But he can not find a holster that will fit it. I tried it in my fobus paddle holster and it would not fit.....we are thinking it is due to the rail. The rail squares off where mine doesn't have a rail it is rounded on the end of the frame. Anybody have any suggestions? he is thinking about a IWB small of the back holster.

Absolutely. If by chance he wants it back, he can have it back at the same price. I doubt he will though. These friends have no sentimental bone in them. They are the ones who gave me the Ruger Standard .22 pistol for helping them move....and it belonged to the same Grandpaw. The only reason he didn't sell the gun to me then, was he thought he might want to go deer hunting with me one day, plus he didn't need the money at that time. His Dad will buy a gun today and try to sell it next week for gas money, and I think that is where this buddy of mine gets it from. They just think they are gun people. But absolutely, later on, if he wants it back, it will be the same price.

A good friend of mine has fell onto hard times, and offered for me to buy his wife's grandfather's Marrlin 30-30. I have been wanting a lever gun for a while now. I have good memories of my first trips into the woods, carrying my Dad's and my Paw-Paw's Win. 30-30s, so I have been wanting to add one to the collection. After it was all said and done, I acquired this rifle for $150. Th only thing I can see wrong is....it is missing the black plastic cap that goes on the bottom of the pistol grip. The scratches on the wood are from years of hunting trips, and boy am I anxious to oil it up (it is very dry and hasn't been shot since about 1994) and take it out to shoot it. Hell it might see more field time this season then my .30-06, since I am planning on hunting thick woods. The scope on top is a cheap Tasco 3x9x40 and he gave me the strap and the cloth/leather carrying case that was bought when the gun was bought. I am planning on calling Marlin soon to find out the age.

+1 That is what I use with the Pyrodex Pellets (2 pellets at 50 grains each), and I have had great success with them....so far.

The two or three seats in the SCOTUS is probably the strongest agruement so far (IMHO). It does seems that McCain's people will not let him put liberals in those seats....at least that is what everyone that is voting for McCain is hoping....he is a "Maverick" you know. LOL
