  1. There was nothing there for my wife to "test Drive". They didn't have many firearms in the size she is looking for. I bought a leather (slightly used) speed loader pouch for $5.95, but they were out of the speed loaders for my model 19. I couldn't find a holster I liked for my model 19 either. We did get my wife signed up for the NRA while there. It was a great deal $25 dollar sign up, a free (cheap) NRA hat, and a coupon for $10 back at the door, (we got one of our entrance fees back). That was cool I thought. I spent a little bit of time talking to the guy that was there from the John Birch Society. Thats was about it.
  2. same here. I don't have an option to select. I guess mostly black (if black is also used to describe blued)...but the furniture is most wood. The only two-tone is my wife's Bersa Thunder .380, the only black and synthetics are my 870 and my CVA .50...but in appearance they are "black" So after all that i am leaning toward black.
  3. Yeah, I am just going to let her "test drive" a few, we will definitely buy/order one with one of our local guys.
  4. Yeah I won't be doing any backpack camping for a little while. It will be more of the pull up in the truck at the camp site pitch a tent and do some fishing. I love to latter on maybe do some backpack type camping. I think that would be fun, but baby steps first. LOL
  5. The wife and I and another couple friend of ours have decided that we are going to start camping this year. Now I have "camped out" during hunting season as a kid (me and my dad) but that was always in some sort of camper. I have never camped out in a tent. So we are buying the stuff we need and plan on going sometime in March or April, before it gets real hot. So the question is, where do all of you guys like to go camping. Me and my buddy drove through Chickasaw state park today, and it looks real nice, but we don't know how crowed it gets. Another friend of mine, who does a lot of camping likes to go to Enid Lake in MS. He says it is never really crowed. What is yall's opinions?
  6. I will be going in the am. I am looking for a holster for my Smith model 19, and I want my wife to look over some pistols and consider giving up the Bersa .380 and go to a 9mm.
  7. I just bought a dehydrator last weekend, and so far I have just dried some apples and bananas, bu I plan on trying some deer jerky this coming week. I think I might try you recipe. Thanks man!
  8. I never saw this buck this year, and the guy who lives on the property said he didn't recognize the rack either. We found both of them hung in small saplings about 20 feet apart. Within 40 feet of a nice rub, an active scrap (yes today Feb. 7 it was as clean as the first day I came across it in November) and about 10 feet from a new salt lick we put out at the end of the season.
  9. I also found some nice sheds today. Both about 20 feet apart. I will take a pic and post in a separate thread.
  10. yes sir I see that. Guess someone's emu got loose. I guess it would be wrong to shoot it while hunting, huh?
  11. I thought that too, but I at least thought I should ask the hunters here, as it is a neat story that I found an emu tracks, LOL.
  12. I would doubt a fake, lol. This was in the middle of a 70 acre track of land that is land locked by 100 to 1000s of acres of good woods in Saulsbury, TN.
  13. No many, about 20 to 30 crossing the road. This was just the best one in the sandy ground that makes up this freshly made logging road. (My grandfather sold the timber this past summer)
  14. Guys, I have been hunting for about 18 years, and I have no idea what this is. I first looked at it and said "that is a turkey track"....then I did a double take and said "one hell of a turkey". Maybe someone's emu got loose, cause if that is a turkey track then I am definitely going to turkey hunt this spot. lol
  15. That is great. Yep, at least that is the conclusion I am drawing.
  16. I am reading The Art of War, and I can see all of the "Bush Blunders" in the "War on Terror". Weird, huh?
  17. I understand that. It is still Redundant paperwork. I wonder what I have never filled out. LOL
  18. here is a link that explains the form. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-9.pdf It even talk about the "Paperwork Reduction Act", but spend 4 pages on a form that contains information that my Elementary School has.
  19. Right, that is what I was told, but I don't understand the point of making me fill it out. My employer has all the information that this form is asking for. At the top left of the form it says "Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services"....really, wow, thank god we have that department handeling these forms. I have to fill out: My name, address, date of birth , social security number, and check the box that says I am a citizen of the United States, and then sign it. That is it. I have been with this company since April of 2000, and they already have all this info. Just seems odd to me.
  20. The Sec. here at my work gave me this form with my pay check stub today, and said that I need to fill this out and get it back to her. I asked her what it is and she said, "It is a form the government is making us have every employee fill out to prove our work eligibility, even though we are american citizens. It just seems odd. There is nothing really weird on the form, it is just information that my employer already has for me. This form just seems redundant. Has anyone else seen or heard of these?
  21. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Nope nothing about an age limit there. I don't care what USC 110 or any other made up, pulled out of a politician's ass "code" there is, the second amendment is what I stand by. I am a Constitutionalist right down to the core. I need no interpretation of the Bill of Rights, for I know how to read. Μολὼν λάβε Whew, that felt good. LOL The term militia is commonly used today to refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens to provide defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service, in times of emergency without being paid a regular salary or committed to a fixed term of service. It is a polyseme with multiple distinct but related meanings. Legal and historical meanings of militia include: Defense activity or service, to protect a community, its territory, property, and laws.[2] The entire able-bodied population of a community, town, county, or state, available to be called to arms.
  22. me too. what a bunch of ass hatery
  23. WOW!!! That was completely mind numbing.
