I thought "These colors don't run" was funnier...that being said...OperatorError is one funny dude. He reminds me 98% of someone I grew up with, looks the same and kinda even acts the same.

I will second likin Daniel Craig as bond. I grew up with Brosnan as Bond. I love a bunch of the older ones as well, but I think Craig is great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I spoke with USPS during lunch. From what they could (limitedly) tell, it is still on its way to the destination. It seems the "zip code" in Cambodia for the destination may have been shown as a New York destination, not to mention that "CA" for Cambodia could be "California". It seems a whole lot of a mess and I just want it fixed.

If I'm lucky it is heading back to me? I thought it would be heading to Cambodia if I was lucky!

Lucky me:)

So, I sold a camera lens via Ebay. Someone from Cambodia messaged me and asked if they won, would I ship it to them. I told them I would. They won. So I shipped it to them. I have shipped probably 10 different items overseas in the last 5 years. It has worked perfectly each time. However, this one looks a bit odd via tracking: The guy messaged me today mentioning that he thought it was supposed to be 12 day shipping. I've gotta say, he is on top of things more than the USPS. I'm afraid I'm going to see a note in my mailbox today telling me I have a package to pickup. For anyone familiar, does this look like the status updates of what will soon be a package "returned to sender"? I'm afriad that the issue is that I used Ebay's custom's form. I usually fill out the papers by hand and then pay at the local post office for international shipments. When you right on that paper it makes copies. With Ebay's form it only printed out one, I had to print it multiple times to get the multiple sheets. I spoke with the local USPS and they said it should be fine. I also made sure the weight was correct (actually overpaid by probably 1/4 pound. If it comes back and the reason is not something in my error, think I'll have any luck talking to the local Postmaster?

Yeah, that's about what I decided when I researched. After my purchase (obviously so far my biggest investment in photography), I hated the idea of 100,000 shutter life. Then I researched it and found that not only do a lot go 2x or 3x that, even if the shutter does fail I think it is only a couple hundred dollar fix if that. I figure I am probably more likely to drop the thing and break it than wear it out. If it makes it a few years I'll probably have the itch to upgrade anyways.

I'm interested in input from other photographers that run an online portfolio. I'm heavily considering SquareSpace because it seems to be very well put together (messing around with the free demo). I have considered Flickr (free) as well as rolling my own using FOSS software on my BlueHost account. I'm thinking of a portfolio that people can view high quality uplaods easily as well as potentially purchase prints of the images if they wish, but I don't even know if that is actually a "thing" unless you are taking really, really good photographs.

Interesting. I'm not exactly sure what would be the issue here outside of the read/write of the card. Try a different card, or try a low level format of your existing card?

What do you mean by "lags some in low-light"? I think you are probably talking about autofocus. Certain lenses focus much faster in low light. Also, certain cameras focus faster in low light. I think you are talking about "autofucs lag" or something simliar. If you set it to something like TV Mode, set it manually to 1/500th of a second and then used a decent "fast" lens, my guess is that it will work great.

Which DSLR? I know the 6D is "rated" at 100,000. Honestly I don't know the first thing about shutter lag. It slightly concerns me though because I think I have snapped about 3,000 - 4,000 in the past month (I got very, very shutter happy with the new camera and lens. It makes sense that a shutter would "degrade" a bit before failing altogether. Going to do some reading and see what others say.

It seems 6400 to 12800 typically. Some shots were much higher though. Some of the shots had enough light that it opened the aperture to 2.0 from 1.8 even with a "low" ISO of 6400. Overall I was quite impressed with the low light capabilities. I have messed a bit with Photoshop's noise reduction but I really have no idea what I am doing in there. Some of the photos I posted show some noticeable noise, especially closer to native resolution. I was going to reccommend: Canon ELPH 340 But then I saw next month a newer version is coming out: Canon ELPH 350 I had one of the older ELPH's before. It was a great camera, all metal body. Great pocket cam that takes excellant photos. Or, if it is just something you want to "give a try", a Canon T3i will float your boat more than fine. If you decide you need "really nice closeup photos", get you a macro lens (the 100mm 2.8 Macro might just be my next purchase).

So over the weekend I tried shooting something I hadn't really ever tried before -- Theatre/Ballet. Some of them turned out, in my opinion, quite well. I was using my new 6D with 85mm 1.8 lens. I was just sitting in the front row left and right (went multiple nights). The lens was great for reaching in there for solo shots and the like, but when the stage was crowded it wasn't wide enough for any decent shots. The 1.8 f-stop helped me quite a bit. Shot TV priority at 1/500 with auto ISO. It was called "The Veil" and was held at Lee University in Cleveland. These are a few of the crops/edits that I have. I'm also attempting to learn Photoshop CS6.

Not displaying an SSID sounds nice and secure, but to anyone that you would actually be afraid of "infiltrating" your network it means nothing. On Android there is an app, "WiFi Scanner" I believe, that will show you WiFI networks that don't broadcast an SSID. It simply shows them as "unkown". If your only concern is your neighbor getting on and using your WiFI, you are probably good at just having a password and hiding SSID. However, for someone who is targeting your network, here you go. Hardware is cheap and most of the software is FOSS (Free Open Source Software). Your phone or computer constantly "ask" for your known networks. Go to Walmart and walk through the isles? Your phone is "searching" for your home network, sending out request beacons for a router to respond to. If you know your stuff, you can listen for these packets and then discover the SSID's of someone's "known networks". If your phone has your "hidden network" saved, I believe it should be that way someone could easily findout your SSID. MAC address filtering sounds secure and I used it myself for a number of years. It got to be too much trouble really adding clients to the network. It is very easy to spoof a MAC address. Anyone of you with a network card and admin privelages can do it. All you would have to do is again watch for potential clients, listening to their device is broadcasting to to world to see when it isn't connected to any network, and eventually you will find a device that is "authorized" for that network. After finding a valid MAC address then all you have to do is spoof it (making your computer tell other computers it has that MAC address). Most of the population would have no clue about any of this. That's why you are probably safe having a insesure password with SSID being broadcast and MAC address filtering off. However, for someone that does know what they are doing, hiding an SSID and using MAC filtering really makes little difference. They would only slow them down, not stop them. Something I haven't seen I don't think in this thread is the importance of passwords. WEP was and is quite easy to crack. WPA2 with a good password (random alphanumeric with acceptable symbols, 10-20 characters) is probably "uncrackable" as long as no serious bugs or flaws are found. It took me a while to realize that this was not a joke. It still ended funny:)

I guess you are right. Sorry, I was thinking of the time when a coworker went online to update their change of address for the license and permit.

I have not renewed mine because it isn't time to yet but I think you can renew online... Look at the back of your permit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now everyone is saying his girlfriend had a child in Switzerland. Is it true that the White House only flies a flag when the president is present? Wonder if the same is true for the Kremlin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone carry a gun? No not really, unless you figure you are a non-felon in your own vehicle, an extension of your "castle". I wish it were like that! Have words for that bunch that I'll keep to myself.
