Yep, and it was the Jr. that they were claiming was still alive. Faked his death in he plane crash to go undercover. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2021/11/22/qanon-supporters-pack-site-of-jfk-assassination-in-hopes-jfk-jr-and-maybe-his-dad-will-return/?sh=235cb8ee48a3

It's absolutely a real thing (in the sense that people believe it). I don't have exact numbers so I'll just pull them out of nowhere. Lets assume that the US population is 330 million. Lets be extraordinarily generous and say that there are 1 million true believers to QANON. That's 1/330 people. Do you know 330 people? Probably. But how many people do most people know "well"? Maybe a dozen or a few dozen if you are very friendly. Lets assume that every single one of us here knows at least one person that subscribes to QANON religiously. How would you ever know it is them if they "censor" themselves? By this point, most of them have realized that spouting their believes alienates themselves from others. So they probably only truly open up to those around them that share their believes. That's why it spreads like wildfire on the internet. I've heard...shall we say...bits and pieces from a few people over the previous few years. To me, it sorta almost seemed like a test. If you've read deeply into something, you can see bits of pieces of it when it shows up. I truly believe that those "bits and pieces" were in a sense a "call and response" type of test to see if others around them would jump onboard with them. The funny thing to me is the absurdity of all of it. For example, there were a bunch of people waiting in Dallas for JFK Jr. to return. And this is just a nutshell from memory, but something along the lines of JFK (been working behind the scenes all these years) was supposed to show up, hand off EVERYTHING to Trump who would do a victory tour for a week and then Jesus would come back. That's...literally a part of what they were talking about, more or less. They've waited for JRK Jr. I think maybe at least twice now. I've wondered at what point do people start losing trust due to this type of prophecy.

You could order one of these. As a photographer, I use many, many of their AA's for various purposes. The only difference between a AA and C or D are simply their capacity. The voltages are all 1.5V. As such, a kit like the one linked you would give you a lot of capabilities. The AA's fit in the D sleeves and thus would work in these lights. You'd have reduced runtime compared to an actual D battery but you'd have many AA's to fill it with. These re-chargeables are amazing, they claim after charging and setting on the shelf they'd have roughly 70% of that charge. The claim roughly 2,100 charge cycles as well. Owning Eneloops is like joining a cult... As far as these lights go, I'd love to pick one up for that price. -
Wonderful that she's getting well but terrifying at how simple it seems.

A step in the right direction, if that's what you are referring to. That's a press release that was released before Biden signed that Executive Order. Look, I'm not singling you out at all, but there are enough real things to worry about that I like reducing the "fake" things that people make up to worry about. With social media setup the way it is, there are people that make their entire living off of it. Some of these people use fear to make their money. Some of the fear is based on valid things, others don't care if the fear they are selling is truthful or not. @bersaguy, just to make the point stronger I'm 100% sure that I could help you setup a podcast where all you would do is go on there and talk about the things you've heard about. Wouldn't have to fact check anything, none of it would even have to be true. But if we did several episodes a week and promoted it on the internet, I bet you'd get a following larger than you might expect. Might could even make some money off it. I'll help you out a bit because I know the internet isn't everyone's strong-suit. This page shows the Executive Orders signed by Biden in 2022. https://www.federalregister.gov/presidential-documents/executive-orders/joe-biden/2022 Here we find the Executive Order you were talking about, I believe. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/03/14/2022-05471/ensuring-responsible-development-of-digital-assets Here it is in PDF format, it's 10 pages long: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2022-03-14/pdf/2022-05471.pdf So...if you want to know what it's about...read it.

Well if it is a bill or executive order, I’d say you could probably link straight to it.

Something that important needs a source. A legitimate one.

I'm not entirely sure this is all it is cracked up to be. Could it be? Sure. But I'll simply state that Tick Tockers are wrong about many things. As @BigK has suggested, this is sort of an alternative to ACH or RTP. Do I generally oppose it simply on the grounds of government competing with private enterprise? Sure. From what I've read, the existing transfer methods are not going away, at least for now. Regarding issues with approval/disapproval of transferring funds, yes that is something to be very concerned about. Regarding privacy, I'm not sure it offers anything more or less than traditional transfer methods. You think "someone" cannot check into seeing your accounts? Try that with the IRS and see how that goes. It could be a step in the wrong direction. Or, it could be a massive government project that shuts down in a few years due to not being successful. The main concern I have is that it becomes popular and is cheap because it is subsidized. If all the "alternatives" go away and then it becomes the only option, that's a problem (as well as a government monopoly). There already exists, to some extent, similar programs setup for slightly different use cases: https://www.federalreserve.gov/paymentsystems/fedfunds_about.htm#:~:text=The Fedwire Funds Service is,the account of another participant. https://www.frbservices.org/financial-services/ach Here is something about ACH, which if you've ever used your banking information for direct deposit, paying a bill (routing/account numbers), or depositing a check, you've used ACH. https://www.federalreserve.gov/paymentsystems/fedach_about.htm In truth, the Fed already plays a pretty large part in ACH: The Reserve Banks and Electronic Payments Network (EPN) are the two national ACH operators. It doesn't appear that ACH plans on going anywhere anytime soon, at least by my reading of this recent article: https://www.nacha.org/news/new-fed-report-further-proof-ach-network-thriving Here's an interesting pamphlet to look through: https://www.federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/files/pf_6.pdf Wondering if @MacGyver will chime in, he probably has some good insight into this.

This is one of the most valuable posts I've seen on TGO in a long while. I'm considering creating a dummy account just so I can like it twice.

I'm sure you can find one just like somewhere closer to you. No worries. Me! Those things are awesome, wish I never got rid of the last one I had. Who or what is a Solo? Agreed. Lousy pests. Operator error I'm sure.

I’ve read that for years. Something to the extent that they grow it in the US, take the “tame” components and make cola and the “bad” components get used in pharmaceuticals.

Do and believe whatever you want but this comes dangerously close to insulting another member's child. LOL. -
Winner. You deposit $100,000, they keep $10,000 and then loan $90,000 to someone else. They spend it on firearms and then another person deposits that $90,000. They (the bank) keep another $9,000 of that and loan out $81,000. So on, and so on, and so on. A single $100,000 deposit creates so much more than that in deposits. This is of course an oversimplification of the big picture but in a gist it represents how it works. It is regulated by a reserve rate. So what happens when the bank that has $10,000 of your money and $9,000 of the next guy's has a run and both of you demand your $100,000 and $90,000 back?
