  1. I have no idea about any of the Dillion stuff. My first and only thought? Maybe there is a part sized for large primers and you are using small? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Fascinating. Looks like some already poke out of the water laying horizontally.
  3. Thought this was relevant: http://radwatch.berkeley.edu/FAQ
  4. So, Fukushima just piqued my interested as of recent. Been reading some updated articles regarding the whole mess. There seem to be two sides of the entire argument: 1) Fukushima isn't and wasn't nearly as bad as Chernobyl. Long term effects will be minimal. 2) Fukushima was and is the greatest disaster in the history of known mankind. In time we will see unforeseen effects on the earth and its inhabitants. The governments and agencies of the world are of course covering this up. I don't know where I stand. Maybe somewhere in the middle. On one hand the pollution and contamination (worldwide and local to Japan) can be measured by countless independent scientists/people. On the other hand, effects affecting the food chain could take years to fully realize. On one hand you have a vast number of alarmists who are claiming that the ocean/s are dying at at alarming and unforeseen rate. Others simply claim some of this is due to El Nino and other related factors. Some claim some of the fuel rods were completely vaporized and released into the atmosphere and anyone denying this is claimed to be lying. The reverse angle is that no, it is proven they did not vaporize and what is being cited as proof for them vaporizing was simply a worst case scenario written shortly after the earthquake which was prevented and did not happen. Like many things, some of this stuff is tough to dig through and decide on. I figured many here probably have been doing research much longer than I. Thoughts?
  5. I had a 2013. Loved it. Personally never experienced anything similar. Likely under exact circumstances or something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Incompetent and uncaring. Sorry. Reminds me of my experience with Trijicon. https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/56643-glocks-trijcons/?do=findComment&comment=1127014 The exact reason I haven't bought anything from them since and switched to Tru-Glo for my Glock. I plan on not buying any of their products again even though I like the ACOG. Compare that to Camelbak, Surefire, Spec-Ops Brand, etc that send out parts for free with hardly any of any proof of purchase. WileyX routinely replaces my glasses completely for like $10. That's pretty decent as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Overall I'm liking the new classifieds system. From further use I realized that the "advert" is directly linked to the discussion, in as much as if you edit the advert, it edits the original post in the discussion thread. I like that. I wasn't sure how linked together they were, I was afraid if you edited the advert it wouldn't update the discussion thread. This revelation made me like it about 50% more. Bumping. I guess you just bump the discussion thread? If someone keeps up with the discussion threads then it is easy to make them aware of things such as "updated, cheaper price" or something of the like. If someone only looks at the "new" classifieds interface, old posts get pushed back and it might be that people don't realize you've dropped pricing or something. I don't see a way to "bump" those up, but they do rotate all the way around in a 360 in the sense they start showing up when they are about the expire. That's a take it or leave it I guess. The most frustrating thing to me is that the advert image/images do not show up in Tapatalk. As stated previously, this perhaps is a complex issue and I don't expect it fixed necessarily. However, I've resorted to manually uploading images to Imgur and then linking to them in the description itself so that Tapatalk users can see things too. I know myself personally, what attracts attention to an item for sale usually is it popping up in the "Unread" section of Tapatalk with a picture. I suspect this is the case for a decent percentage of others as well.
  8. I think so. My thought process is like this. Manufacturer Caliber Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun Have the three of those stored as tags so that it can easily be filtered. Wanting a 9mm Glock? You can easily sort to just those via tags. However, my reason this morning for commenting is something else entirely. I think I've noticed three things within the last day or two regarding TGO as a whole with an emphasis on the new classifieds. For some odd reason, when viewing posts on Tapatalk that have been generated by the classifieds system automatically, it works! However, if you click "View Advert", it takes you to a completely non-related post. Example, just now on my Tapatalk I was looking at the nice Tavor for sale in Chattanooga. I clicked "View Advert" and it took me to "A Brother is Murdered" by James Yeager from 1/19/2007. Must have something to do with how the link/post number is generated by the new system. I think I've have noticed that in Tapatalk, imaged uploaded by the new classifieds system to not show up at all. I suspect of course if someone uses BBCODE (my preferred method typically anyways) to insert images from a third party host it should work if you put those in the details section. I haven't tested though. I think I have realized that generally as a whole Tapatalk (sitewide, not just classifieds) does not allow images uploaded by the forum software to be viewed on mobile. I've been thinking about what this is the case, my only conclusion has came down to it must be a permissions issue. I'm just taking a shot in the dark (in a safe direction though I promise!) that the way Tapatalk attempts to parse the uploaded image links, maybe even all image links, does not pass along cookie information to authenticate to the server that the user is logged in. Thus, when parsing those links, the server is denying the request because it appears it is being viewed as a guest. I'm guessing bad foresight by Tapatalk's programmers, but possibly something you could fix if it could be done that the server software allows uploaded images to be viewed by everyone and not just members. Like I said, a shot in the dark. I acknowledge that you don't and that it is even technically impossible to **fully** support Tapatalk in the sense of trying to implement **all** the features of TGO into Tapatalk. I just pointed out a few odd things. I will probably continue to use Tapatalk to browse general posts but will probably fire-up a web view to investigate any potential classifieds interests. EDIT: Let me also mention that I clicked "View Advert" (while in Tapatalk) on the two postings of mine that I migrated this morning. Each one of them linked to a seperate thread started by James Yeager in 2007. /Confused why he's so idolized by the new forum software. Maybe he just had a lot of posts going on in 2007 and the default links being generated somehow match up with a lot of his postings.
  9. Shameless plug: I'd love to semi my Cabela's cooler to someone soon. Cabela's Polar Cap[emoji768] Equalizer Cooler (60 QT) $320 https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=63802&share_tid=101323&url=https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/index.php?/topic/101323-Cabela%27s-Polar-Cap%C2%AE-Equalizer-Cooler-%2860-QT%29-%24320&share_type=t I'm Cleveland and surrounding area. 10. It will be depending on which type of switches your keyboard uses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Honestly, from a technical standpoint, monitor and keyboard, mouse will play into this some. Newer monitors have typically 1, 5, or 10 ms lag, potentially even more. Depending on what sort of switch your keyboard has, it could impact as well. For example, I was doing quite well on my keyboard but then switched to trying clicking the mouse. My reaction time went up a few hundred ms when I did this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. But then did it again and got "'We're not sure if you're an actual human being" with 269 ms. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Dang. Got my age first time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Excited for this. Lets turn it on, I've got some stuff to sell!
  15. Not a trade offer per se, and I don't remember the exact pricing, but once I found a Henry AR-7 in I believe the TN Trader. Called them up, they said it was like new, I drove 20 minutes to go buy it. It was + or - $20 from the new price on Bud's if I recall correctly, but worth it to avoid taxes, transfer fee, hassle, etc on a $200 firearm. Showed up cash in hand and fully ready to make a purchase. What I assume were a husband and Wife showed up. Showed me the AR-7 and walked me through all of how it "worked". I liked it but noticed that the buttstock cap, the piece that keeps the whole thing waterproof and whatnot, was pretty badly damaged. I told them that because of this it definitely wasn't "like new". They insisted it was new, hadn't been shot, but that it was stored on a shelf and something was piled on top of it and must have deformed/damaged the stock. It was obviously damaged. They wanted a sale and kept pushing that I could probably buy a new end piece. I think to just end the deal and go home I offered something like $100 or $150 since I would "have to buy another end-peice". One of them grabbed the rifle out of my hands and the two of them got out of their quicker than I had hoped:)
  16. I started out carrying in a molded leather holster. I took the firearm out about 2 to 4 times a month and wiped it down with a silicone rag. Now I carry in a molded kydex holster. I take it out about 2-4 times a year and wipe everything down with a silicone rag. If the holster is pretty dirty I rinse it off in the sink. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'm not sure. I think maybe a waterproof storage area. Fire starter, kindling, etc. I'm not positive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Nah man cannot do PayPal. I have a ~$2,500 check from my airline (I'm a pilot) that's uncashed. I don't have time to cash it so I'll send it to you and sign my name to it. You can cash it, keep $200 for yourself ($50 for the processing fee of course) and then the remainder for your troubles. You can just send me the rest back in cash. win/win
  19. If you don't want to split the winnings, forward them to me. I'll gladly give them my account number to have them put the money there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My main issue when handling one was that it felt cheap. Honestly if Ruger were to take that survival rifle AR-7 concept and make a 10/22 version of it, it would sell very well.
  21. Like I'm sure many here probably have received, I too received an email from MagPul about their upcoming "Backpacker" stock. https://www.magpul.com/products/x-22-backpacker-stock-ruger-10-22-takedow I think it's darn neat. It's awfully close to completely replacing the AR-7. I wouldn't think the Ruger/MagPul combination would float. However, it looks like a very, very innovative and intriguing stock. I think I may have just made the decision to eventually get a takedown and this stock. All of that being said, perhaps a Ruger 22/45 or MKIII would serve the purpose just as well.
  22. It's a pity what a mess this is. I love as much reciprocity as possible. I also see that the 18-20 year old military thing was meant as a positive thing. Selfishly though I wish it hadn't have happened. Also too bad other states cannot simply state that they will honor TN permits for those 21 or older. I too feel the states will drop like flies soon in terms of reciprocity with TN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Right now it's $12.99. Ballistic: Advanced Edition – JBM Ballistics Engine, Trajectory Calculator, Rangefinder & Shooting Target Log by Peak Studios LLC https://appsto.re/us/yS0es.i
  24. True, but I don't think anyone ever really showed it to be detrimental did they?
