Unfortunately for us, it seems there are so many different ways to use this as ammo against the 2nd. Legal MG? Proof they should be illegal. Illegal machine gun? Proof "nobody" should be able to buy that much ammo, a small box or two is all you need. Legally obtained w/ background check? Proof buying guns is too easy and should be banned outright. Purchased without background check? Proof we need to mandate background checks!

Heat? Different loads (different grain bullet, powder charges) of ammo? Or possibly indicative of a bump fire stock?

Why is it that it seems more often than not witnesses recall multiple shooters? I have never seen any sort of combat other than your standard action movie, you have served as well as others here. Is it simply that confusing or overwhelming with all the fear/adrenaline? I ask because conspiracy theorists always gravitate towards reports of multiple gunman vs. the "after story".

I cannot express the sorrow and sadness that overwhelms me. So many lives ended and affected for what seems like no other reason than Paddock wanted to go out in flames and fame. This is a very interesting case indeed, mostly because of the details. Shooter's age 64 I believe, quite outside the mean for these types of things. Tactical planning There was no way any of the victims could immediately oppose the threat. I will be interested to learn whether he was taken down with a long gun from outside or an entry team from within. Hardware Used Seemingly full-auto, I have no experience with a "bump-stock" so unsure whether that is a possibility but it definitely sounded like the real deal. Of course this raises the questions as to where he got it, legally or otherwise, and what his background was. Unless I am mistaken, I believe this would be the first use of an actual automatic weapon in a U.S. mass shooting since the North Hollywood shootout. Trump I guess now we get to see exactly how Pro 2nd he actually is, and whether or not he believes "Pro Gun" means running onto your back porch with your double barrel and shooting off those two warning shots. What always worries me about these types of incidents are the possibility that there is another random nut job out there that is 99.9% of the way there and then an event like this gives him the remaining .1% of courage/inspiration to carry out their brutality.

Haha. Yes. I have about 12 years experience in CAD. When I read that, I thought the exact same thing. Dumb but someone out there is going to buy the thing because they put that specification in the grip and that someone is going to take it hook, line, and sinker. I sort of like the gun. I wish they made a CZ Scorpion that took Glock magazines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I found this firearm by reading this article, seeing the firearm listed, and thinking "What the heck is that?". https://jalopnik.com/idiot-couple-snapchats-themselves-shooting-guns-blindly-1818976058 https://masterpiecearms.com/shop/mpa30dmg-9mm-pistol/ As soon as I saw the picture of the firearm, I thought "That's a Glock magazine!". One of these with either a brace or turned into an SBR seems like it would be awesome. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

The more I thought about it, the more I realized the 6.5 seems the way to go for a pistol. Roughly 6.5" at 100 yards, so at half that it's 3.25". Theoretically, if I could keep a grouping at 3.25" at 50 yards with a Glock, I'd be plenty satisfied. Sidenote, the second Activejunky credit came through. The first one never did. I suspect it is because I did the first one on a computer I have lots of ad-block, anti-tracking/advertising stuff on so I suspect the referral was blocked by my own doing! The second time I did it on my MacBook Pro which I just updated to High Sierra (clean install), so I didn't have any of that on it. I contacted Activejunky, letting them know everything (tracking ID, order number, etc). Maybe I will get lucky and they will credit me anyways.

This reminds me of a trick I typically do, although this deal today bested it. Anytime I'm ordering something decently priced in terms of optics, sights, etc that is available on https://swfa.com/, I typically search the internet for the absolute cheapest place I can find it, even if it is a "sketchy" site. I then submit a price match request to SWFA. They have a 110% price match guarantee. I've been able to snag a lot of items even cheaper. Example, if you weren't snagging 11% - 14% off the gift cards and the $20 coupon, lets pretend you were only getting the sight at $290. Cabela's offers free shipping. I'm just making numbers up because it is pointless to spend the time checking, but lets pretend that SWFA typically sells the same thing for $500 and has $10 shipping. $510 - $290 = $220. However, 110% of $220 is $242. SWFA then gives you that amount of their price. You'd get it for $510 - $242, or $268. So anytime you see something on a deep discount, remember you could theoretically get 110% of the discount by matching it at SWFA, they have great service and I've always been pleased. Thanks again!

Finally! So, math breakdown, which I feel reflects even a truer value. $267 is what I paid for the gift cards. Assuming it works out (sometimes technical issues screw up things like Activejunky, hopefully it doesn't, but assuming it works), perhaps 6% of the total $290 (or $270 depending on how they apply it to Cabela's Bucks), that's a theoretical $17.40. I'll mark this as conditional since I haven't seen it yet. The sight was $270 out the door. So, don't remember that you still have $30 leftover in one of those gift cards. That's value. I used my Chase Sapphire Reserved, which will essentially net me 1.5% from the purchase of the $267 gift card, or basically $4.00. Assuming that the conditional Activejunky works, I'm in for the 6.5 MOA version at $267 - ($17.40 + $30.00 + $4.00), or $215.6. I'd say that works!

I personally have shrapnel in my arm from what I believe originated from shooting a steel target (I am the original poster in that thread). My opinion is that one can do an unsafe thing 10,000 or even 100,000 times, all it takes is a single instance for it to harm you. It is up to the individual to determine whether the risk factor is worth it. That ordeal with the shrapnel taught me the importance of always wearing quality shooting glasses and now make sure to take my WileyX glasses with me on every range trip. A lot of people shoot steel and generally speaking, most of them are ok. I suppose the key word is "most". Anecdotally, a coworker has story about someone he used to know that apparently died from a freak ricochet. My ending opinion on the matter is that anytime you are sending hunks of metal hundreds or even thousands of feet per second downrange, the likelihood of catastrophe is there. However, that does not prevent me from enjoying myself at the range, but I do have personal issue with shooting steel targets. Not what you wanted, I know.

I did not think I was going to write anything regarding this topic but I changed my mind. First and foremost, let me offer that disclaimer that I do not really spend any time watching any sport. I'm the guy that someone strikes up conversation with regarding a football game or player and I ask "which game?" or "who's that?". I also will state that I have not taken the time to specifically research the ins and outs as to why certain players/teams are protesting. So with all of that being said, let me say that I fully support them doing so. I believe many here likely, whether they realize it or not, oppose the players' protests because Trump is president. Since you see Trump as being "a good fit", you see any dissent against him or his administration as wrong/misplaced. However, let me paint a conflicting picture. To the people that are "outraged" at the players' protests, how many of you would have been equally "outraged" at any of the following? What if Tim Tebow had taken a knee in response to Obama painting the White House in rainbow colors? What if a group of players protested Obamacare, calls for gun control, etc? Now, there are many faithful and red blooded Americans that do and will always object to any objection to the flag, anthem, etc, but I bet that as you think through the list of possible reasons to "sit out" an anthem, eventually most of you will at minimum understand why someone would do such a thing. Perhaps to you, sitting out an anthem on the same day Obama painted the White House with rainbow colors would have been acceptable because to you painting the White House with rainbow colors was a direction that you did not want the country to go. My point is that in my opinion, one can protest the country, policies, leaders, administration, etc while still loving the country, servicemen and their sacrifices, etc. I do not automatically equate disrespect to the flag or any other symbol as disrespect to servicemen, their sacrifices, etc. It can, but it depends on contest based on who is doing the protesting and why they are protesting in the first place. To disagree with any of the aforementioned does not automatically give reason to leave the country and go to a place such as North Korea or Iran. You can and should be able to disagree with something and then try to encourage though, conversation, and change. In my opinion, them taking a knee during the anthem is a wonderful form of protest. It gathers attention to their issues, is nonviolent, and isn't even inconvenient to others. I would much rather see a team of NFL players taking a knee during the anthem rather than blocking a major highway, becoming violent in DC or any other major city, etc. Obviously the right to protest simply protects protest from action/persecution from the government. That's greatly covered. I also firmly believe that any private entity should be able to hire and fire at their discretion, including the topic at hand. What I personally disagree with is any private entity requiring certain motions/support of the government/flag/anthem, etc. Sure, today, perhaps it is an issue that you care little about. What about when it is tomorrow and a topic you love dearly (freedom of worship, firearms, etc)? I personally attempt to be fair minded towards all respectable forms of protest. To me that basically consists of being non-violent, keeping in mind the property rights of others, impacting the personal rights of others as little as possible, etc. Go stand in the middle of a freeway and block traffic? That's wrong. Stand in front of a tank or set oneself on fire? I respect their right to do so.
