I too think I would prefer to carry and attempt to protect my family and those around me rather than having a government/authority determine who is sane and who is not. Should access to mental healthcare be a thing? Of course it should. Just don’t go creating a list of sanes vs crazies and try to limit rights based on which list a person is on. I ran across something to that as well. The exception seems to be if the stock is easily removed it is measured without the stock attached.

I seem to recall that about the X95 as well. I suppose bullpups would be about the only thing in danger of of being in the =>16" barrel but <26" overall rules.

Well, the bottom one is the "long version" and has a barrel over 16" and overall length over 26". So it isn't NFA either.

Separate but related thought process: Interpreting the word or correctly would mean that if something has either a barrel less than 16" or is less than 26", it's an SBR. So that means in this case even if the overall length was 26"+, it would still have to have a 16" barrel. However, what's interesting to note is that if something has a barrel that is 16" or greater but is less than 26" overall, it is still an SBR. I cannot think of and do not think there are likely many examples that have a 16" barrel but <26" overall length, but the possibility is out there. Yep, this whole thing is a big no-go.

An unnamed member here and myself are conversing as to whether or not this would be legal. He wants to purchase a "RONI" and install his Glock to make it essentially a Glock carbine. The product in question is here: https://usa.caagearup.com/roni-m4-pistol-carbine-conversion I argue that it wouldn't be legal without a tax stamp. He argues that it wouldn't be an SBR because of the following in bold: An SBR is legally defined as a rifle with a barrel shorter than 16 inches, or an overall length of less than 26 inches. Pursuing that route requires registering the rifle as a Title II weapon (often referred to as an NFA weapon) under the National Firearms Act (NFA) and paying an excise tax. But even then, if that were the case, the catalog for this product lists it as 62 cm, or 24.4 inches. So even in that regard, when closed/retracted, the overall length is less than 26 inches. Some of the RONI kits advertise as "NO NFA REQUIREMENTS". However, the "RONI_SBS" (which appears to simply be one of their standard RONI kits + a " Skeleton Style ButtStock, or SBS), does not advertise as being "NO NFA REQUIREMENTS". And to me, even more importantly, the magazines, parts, and accessories are generally much cheaper but yet produce excellent results per dollar spent compared to other brands. Also, compatibility between 19/17/26 and 23/22/27 is, in my opinion, unmatched with any other handgun system out there regarding magazines, internals, and holsters. I would bet that Dolomite likely would draw less attention with this pistol AK if he wanted to than many of the people strapping a Glock .380 to their hip in OWB carry. For some people, "carry" means throwing a folding brace AK pistol in a tennis racket bag and then carrying that over your shoulder. Whether your location, job, etc places you in less than comfortable locations, perhaps "carry" means walking from the parking lot to your work business or from the parking lot to your apartment. Some people may have different life circumstances in which they are in more danger than others, pass through dangerous areas, etc. I don't see how we can jump on one another in telling those people they are wrong to do as they wish when it is legal. I doubt anyone is trying to stuff one of these in their coat, but seeing how Dolomite spent a lot of time on the battlefield, if anyone could do it, it'd be him;) I too do not understand such an alarmist response and the seemingly personal attack.

First, let me state I mislead you a bit. This article isn't about fingerlakes but rather how much finger is the right amount of finger for a handgun. So when I first starting carrying a Glock 19 Gen 4, I stuck the "L" grip adapter onto the thing and never really gave it much more thought. However, I started thinking about it today after reading some about the Gen 5. So I found the following picture (clicking the picture will take you to the article). I think I now realize one reason I typically shoot left. With the "L" adapter, I don't think I'm getting as much finger on the trigger as I need. I have never truly had any formal handgun training, I fear I developed bad habits from the start. But I'm excited to go home and investigate this more with the Glock. I suspect I will take the grip adapter off and try shooting it without. And as a bonus, I leave you with this:

I hope so. Honestly that would be pretty ok, push it off on the ATF while knowing they cannot interpret "Machine Gun Language" any differently and then it fades away six months from now after everything has died down. With that being said, assuming that the bill is actually just a bill and was presented to actually pass, I guess I'm just numb to the whole thing in a big way now. With Legislative and Executive branches both Republican controlled, I guess that ANY legislation that is passed will come across as a betrayal to me. I never falsely believed that Republicans were truly 100% Pro-2nd Amendment, but a lot of them present themselves as that way. However, when it comes down to it, a lot of "Pro-2nd Amendment" people are simply the "hunting rifle don't touch my six-shooter, I don't own any of that military type stuff and I think it should be banned variety". In all honestly, I think I generally like 100% anti-gun people more than the pseudo gun loving hypocrite described above. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I just happen to find a lot of error the in the extremely strong "Pro-Gun Anti-Scary Gun" type of people out there.

A very rhetorical question could then be asked, "How is one supposed to represent their constituents if they consider themselves too good/busy for their constituents?". I'm optimistic that the bill itself will not go anywhere, although I'm realistic to know that it could go somewhere.

And it has been mentioned and covered time after time, but I question the sanity of anyone who ever questioned how he got 400lbs up to the room. Even if you pretend that bellhops don't exist, how much is 400lbs? Sure, he was a slightly older feller so maybe he wasn't as strong as ever, but even if he had to he could have carried 50lbs in a shoulder bag 8 times. In a large hotel, that would draw exactly zero attention. But like others have said, with bellhops and room/service carts, he probably never had to carry the first heavy bag up to the room unless he wanted to. And even if, by the slimmest of chances and I don't believe it did or would have happened, hotel staff of any kind discovered the contents of any of the bags, do you know what would have happened? Probably nothing. All he had to do was state that he was in town for some sort of shoot/training and didn't want to keep the contents in his car in concern of theft. Hotels/casinos don't exactly have a history of pushing away people that have and spend money like it is nothing.
