For those that don't know, you can pause a YouTube video and then his the < and > keys on your keyboard to step forward or backward frame by frame. Try it. I'm curious what the black line of stuff on the floor is seen from the beginning of the video. It seems a split second before everything goes up in flames, that line caught fire, etc.
-
That is both incredible and terrifying at the same time. Does that seem abnormally fast for how quickly everything caught fire? It seems one second there is nothing, the next second literally everything is up in flames. Was there some sort of accelerant that caught fire, etc? What is typically in these rounds? Magnesium?

Criminalizing Private Gun Sales
GlockSpock replied to xsubsailor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
No, it is relevant in my opinion. The ATF declared illegal the use of a shoestring to increase the rate of fire. https://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2010/01/25/shoestring-machine-gun/ In a roundabout way, they did the same thing with bumpstocks. I am personally against both of these measures. The term ‘‘machinegun’’ means any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger. The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts de- signed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, and any combina- tion of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person. https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2011-title26/pdf/USCODE-2011-title26-subtitleE-chap53.pdf In my observation and interpretation, a firearm with a bumpstockj attached does not fire more than one shot per function of the trigger. What you have is a trigger functioning very quickly. Sorry, but in my opinion it is clear. Letter vs spirit. They should be legal based on letter of the law. Don't like that? Change the law! -

Does a bump-fire stock alter the firing mechanism to fire more than one shot per pull of the trigger? Because if it does, it's a machine-gun. If it doesn't...well:) I agree that it violates the spirit of the law. But if something doesn't violate the letter of the law, then in my opinion it is legal. But...then again...shoelaces are machine-guns too so who knows anymore. -
Criminalizing Private Gun Sales

And, in my opinion, I think more people than we care to admit would jump on board stricter private gun sales. Heck, the media has already done a really, really good job convincing a lot of people that private gun sales are already illegal intrastate. I've met so many friends and coworkers that are baffled by the fact I've bought and sold guns without going to a gun dealer. -

No, you'd be anti-gun if you wanted/supported banning bump stocks. Just like I'm not anti-gun because I don't want to ban revolvers, although I own none. -

Vetoed by Trump? Really? Lets see...Republican House? Check. Republican Senate? Check. Nobody "had" to do anything, but Trump volunteered the banning of bump stocks. Why? If it were to get passed the House and Senate, I think Trump would sign it in a heartbeat if he thought he'd gain a friend over it. -

When I sold a Glock 19 Gen 4 w/ TFX Sights a few months ago, I had a hard time getting $450. Maybe I sold it for $425, I don’t remember. The market is down.

It was obviously the instructor’s fault to be in the situation in the first place, but I feel as if his actions during the flight did indeed save the man’s life. The mere fact the guy’s weight kept pulling the glider left was worrisome enough. Usually the harness seems to keep the weight centered on the thing.

I thought about posting this yesterday. Epic video.

Thanks for posting that. It wasn't what I expected. I came here expecting a reality show about taking "dangerous" firearms and destroying them with fire, saws, etc. What I found was very informative. Appreciated the non-biased viewpoint of things, especially the point about Ronald.

Glock 19 Holster Discussions

That's a really neat idea and I'm sure they'll sell a lot of them. I'm not sure whether or not I'd like it! But I would try it if it didn't cost me anything. -
Personally I would try these “MagicFiber” cloths. They are my favorite Microfiber cleaning cloths.

Ugh...sorry guys. I have very limited experience with suppressors. I thought doing what I suggested above was common? Only for pistol calibers and maybe .300 AAC Blackout? What's the deal? Having something clog the suppressor and it explode next to your hand? Or heat? Or something else?
-
Yeah, I came here simply to say this: If it isn't something that is being done, it is probably for really, really good reason. I mean, you could do something awesome like an SBR with longer hand-guard that envelopes the suppressor. I mean, that's the right way to do it:) EDIT: MAYBE NOT, I THOUGHT DOING SO WASH KOSHER BUT MAYBE IT ISN'T.

1st World Problem, but I agree 100%. Few things irk me as much as seeing a portrait mode video. Like yo, do you have your TV turned portrait as well? I like streaming videos from peoples' phones onto our Apple TV. It is hilariously frustrating when it was filmed in portrait and then they don't understand why it doesn't fill the entire screen.

DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
GlockSpock replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I'm irritated. It is for this reason I got really pissed at the NRA. I as much have started telling the telemarketers when they call asking for money to oppose "Tem dem'crats hoo wanna take you're guns" -

If my last comment wasn't clear, it was expressing disgust that Trump could have easily thought to himself "Republican House, Republican Senate, I'm going the blame Vegas (amongst all other mass shootings) on the perpetrator and not the equipment used. No anti-gun stuff will happen in the current climate". Guess what! He didn't! Instead he predicted, encouraged, and even called for bump stocks to be banned. So...in 100% honesty, what did Obama ever actually accomplish that was anywhere near this? -

Yay! Good thing we have Trump in office or we may have seen our rights taken away. Donald. Accomplishing more anti-gun measures in 2 years than when Barry had 8! That's progress! -
I think you could do some really neat stuff with Ubiquiti hardware: https://unifi-protect.ubnt.com May cost some, but I can tell you that the building/range shown in the photo wasn't cheap! May not be a bad idea to throw up a few facing the shooting bench areas as well. Friend or foe, if an accident happened it my be priceless to have some footage recorded of what actually happened vs what was claimed to have happened.

I’ve never been to any library in Virginia. To be fair, the Library of Alexandria doesn’t really exist anymore but the point still stands.
-
Yeah, but what you do know would be the size of Alexandria.
