  1. Disbelief that we went to the moon is so 1980’s. Now beliving that the moon doesn’t exist is the cool thing to do.
  2. That is, to an extent, a topic of conversation. But I think the concept of relevance and circumstance are everything here. I even see what you are saying, I think. Consider this difference between an officer approaching an individual whom: A: Is walking around his own property while holding a firearm. Upon being approached by the officer, puts away his firearm while greeting the officer in a friendly manner. B: Is pulled over for a suspected crime. Instead of addressing and answering the officers concerns, chooses to flee while brandishing the firearm. Surely you can see the difference in being armed and being armed. Which one is a logical "significant thread"? I personally believe that anyone not incarcerated over the age of 18 should be able to possess a firearm. That includes people who have committed crimes in the past. That is my opinion, and I suspect many here will disagree with it. But even if something is legal, if I show up to your house, holding a firearm in my hand, and you don't even know who I am, shouldn't that cause you some concern? Wouldn't you consider me a significant threat, since I am literally holding my handgun in my hand for seemingly no valid reason other than showing you I'm armed, or worse? What if when you approach me and confront me about it, instead of saying "Oh, I'm GlockSpock, I brought you this gun to see if you wanted to buy it", I chose to dart off in the other direction towards your neighbors house while waving the gun around while running? Wouldn't you be concerned for your neighbors safety?
  3. My Russian is a little rusty...but: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Ftopwar.ru%2F90522-eksperimentalnaya-vintovka-tromix-trimese-16-ssha.html&edit-text=&act=url
  4. I suppose I fall into the camp that recognizes the place to fight officers is the courtroom, not on the streets. You make your absolute best attempt to follow the orders of an officer. Generally, it is always a bad idea to run away from the police while holding a gun. It doesn't matter if it is a "good stop" or a "bad stop", you just do what they say. If they were wrong for pulling you over and arresting you, prove that in the courtroom. Running away from them, while brandishing a firearm, has zero positive outcomes. That's my opinion.
  5. I would have a difficult time, if on a jury, convicting the officer based on the facts I have read up until this point. I was merely arguing the point that @Omega argues that TN vs. Garner does not apply here. I think it does.
  6. I'm pretty sure apprehending him indeed did take place. In my opinion, and I think the opinion of others, this shooting is at minimum on the same topic as TN vs Garner. In my very short opinion, based on the five minutes of knowledge I have regarding this case, it fits the defined clause of "unless "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others", which makes TN vs Garner relevant in this conversation. Disagree if you want, it really isn't a big deal to me.
  7. Because the alternative outcome to this COULD have been that the cops let the guy get away, and then later he robbed and murdered the officer's Uncle Ben. Or whomever.
  8. Yes, that's why I posted it.
  9. Exactly! You said it didn't apply here, but then you reasoned the exact same as TN vs. Garner, otherwise known as the "Fleeing Felon Rule". That thing I posted in a synopsis of that case.
  10. Really? the officer may not use deadly force to prevent escape unless "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.
  11. How appropriate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_v._Garner
  12. Which in term made me think of this: http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinHumor.htm
  13. This thread made me think of this: https://www.northeastshooters.com/xen/threads/diy-shovel-ak-photo-tsunami-warning.179192/
  14. @Ronald_55 I just applaud you for creating a thread counter to the Kavanaugh confirmation. Whoop whoop.
  15. Much to everyone's disappointment I'm sure, but he sold it to someone else yesterday evening. I'm relieved, as now I don't have to make a decision!
  16. Instead of: https://www.gucci.com/us/en/ Guilty as charged:)
  17. If this doesn't make sense to you, maybe someone will come along and explain it to you. But this is what I think of whenI see this thread title.
  18. No, no...it operates correctly as is. The correct procedure it to shoot 5 magazines though the firearm, then lay it on top of a steak for 2 minutes. It'll heat the steak up just enough to meet the Glock™ Steak Perfection promise.
  19. These guys crack me up. Perfect recreation of the old QVC videos, etc. I literally just found this today, I'm sure it's a bit older; Those Magwells have been out for a while.
  20. I'm torn. I don't own any revolvers. They typically are not my think. I really, really do like the nostalgia of holding a revolver and shooting a revolver, but I'd rather spend my money something like a Glock or similar. However, I've always wanted a GP-100 in 6" Stainless. This S&W doesn't really mark any of those tick marks (stainless, .357, 6" barrel). But I do sort of want it. So oh, I don't know.
  21. Two more photos, after realizing where the important bits are on a SW revolver:) I "magicked away" the last serial digit using Photoshop. I found this website: https://www.northeastshooters.com/xen/threads/how-to-identify-date-a-s-w.68254/ So, for serial 21852* (again, last serial disappeared using Photoshop), it looks like: C1 - C233,999………….....1948 – 52 Am I looking at that correctly?
  22. He's asking $200.00. So I guess that is rather quite in line with market value. I figured it would be old, but I didn't really think it'd be from the 50's. But then after reading a bit about them online it seems it probably is from about that time period. @MacGyver For both the reasons you stated (character + bluing chemicals), I think I'll hold off. It does seem fun, but I can totally find other things to do as well. I'm not DYING for something to do
  23. A coworker has the following gun for sale. I am considering buying it. I think it is a Model 10 with 4" barrel. Does that identification seem correct? I'll admit that I don't know much about revolvers. He quoted me a specific price, which I'll keep to myself for now. Is it a Model 10? What does a decent price seem? Is it worth more in current condition or reblued? I understand that rebluing typically kills any collector value, but since this is already in rough shape and I doubt a rare piece it probably doesn't have much collector value to begin with. If the timing is good and the bluing redone, it could make a good shooter. I assume, if one wanted, they could purchase new/like new grips easily. If I get it, it'd probably mainly be for a project gun. I'm never tried bluing anything and it seems like a fun project.

Seems you already made your choice, but another vote for MLOK.
