  1. Regardless, it does just use a micro-usb connection, I’d be surprised if anyone doesn’t already have one.
  2. Yeah. I guess the deal is over. It was one of their daily deal things.
  3. Alright, you got me. Buying one now. A buddy has been hyping Olight to me recently so this is the perfect chance to try one. $14.95 on Amazon, by the way. A separate listing has a limited time deal that includes an Olight branded Micro-USB cable for a mere $0.30 more, so why not. This is the one I'm getting.
  4. No coffee yet. I read that without the decimal and thought “45-47 miles? Dude, that’s not fishing that’s hiking with a small break in the middle”.
  5. “What is...Adulting?”.
  6. I’m about to go to sleep but please everyone let’s keep this civil.
  7. Sodbuster. Still have the one my father gave me 15 or so years ago. An awesome classic knife.
  8. Lmao. I agree with that statement for most things in life. Guns. Tools. Knives. Electronics. In a few areas...I’m still learning.
  9. Moved this thread to a separate section of the site. Seems to fit better here. Also, here is my current EDC:
  10. I forget the model but from my recollection a cheaper of the commercial Stihl products. It all winds on a spindle just like any other weed-water I’ve used.
  11. So I have always just bought whatever cheap string at whatever store I’m at when I buy it. But recently I decided to do some research and find a high quality string. I decide to purchase a small package of Oregon Magnum Gatorline. This stuff is square instead of round and it has an internal filament. Let me say, I’m very impressed! It makes sense to have sharp edges (four of them) rather than round string. The internal filament supposedly adds to the strength. Let me just say, I just tried it for the first time today. Let me forewarn that weed-eating is never fun but this string is worth it and I was excited to try it today. I was able to chop through much larger weeds much easier than the misc cheap stuff. However, it also eats through decking lattice and also throws rocks with much more force. I weed-eat a lot of area with gravel and the string lasts longer in those areas as well as, like I previously mentioned, throws stones with more force. The cheap stuff seemed to disintegrate very quickly in those areas. I will likely be buying a 685’ spoil of it next time around. Just curious if anyone else is a fan or if you have any other string to recommend.
  12. I will also add, the best $ spent regarding sharpening is $0.00 spent doing some research. Educate yourself about grinds, angles, types of steel, etc. Like most (I assume), I used to think that smaller angles were always better. When I discovered that Spyderco uses 40° angles on their pocket knives, I thought to myself that I was always pleased with the factory edges from them. So with the Sharpmaker that's exactly what I mimic. It's been a while since I've done so, but my kitchen knives get 30°. If one just buys expensive sharpeners, etc then more than likely they will just make the edge worse. A little bit of education goes a very long way.
  13. I absolutely love the Spyderco Sharpmaker. Up until I purchased this sharpener, I generally hated knives with S30V. They'd come very nicely sharp from the factory. I'd dull them up but never be able to sharpen them again. With the Sharpmaker, several times a month I just set it up (takes like 30 seconds), run the blade down between each of the stones for about five minutes. Keeps it nice and sharp. Then I spend a few moments running the blade over this cheap but great leather strop. I personally don't get into whether or not my blades can slice a hair into multiple pieces longways, etc etc. For me, if it will slice through a piece of copier paper like butter that's good enough for me. I generally use my carry knife for boxes, tape, maybe envelopes, and the occasional rope or string. Using the above sharpening method, it excels at all of these as long as I keep up maintenance regularly. I know many people are fans of the systems such as Lansky or even fancier, but to me they take too much time to setup and use. I suppose if you are going for the absolute sharpest edge available, they are great. But I like to put them into perspective. How many of our grandfathers ever used such a system? For them, whetstones and strops were enough to keep their blades sharp.
  14. What are your top three favorites, and why?

  17. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/jun/08/glenn-grothman/glenn-grothman-target-about-tie-between-vitamin-d-/ Seems to echo several posts previously seen here on TGO. I know I've been trying to increase my sun exposure while staying within healthy limits just in case it does help.
  18. Telling longtime members such as @Magiccarpetrides to go police the crosswalks at a school is not a good start to making friends. Keep in mind that he has paid money to support this site via benefactor memberships, you so far have not. And before you respond “I’M JUST KIDDING CHILL BRO” let me just encourage you to tread lightly.
  19. My bad, but you’re right. Uncle Suga is the one that usually gets the golden rain.
  20. I have no idea if you are joking or passing along valid information, but I just wanted to point out that 4 days is 96 hours.
