North Korea Propaganda with antique tanks
GlockSpock replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Anyone ever wonder if this "North Korea Propaganda" is actually "anti North Korea Propaganda"? -
Read this thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/54822-obama-green-lights-un-gun-grab/page-2 Read the part about lasers. It is "rumored" to exist.

Yep of course. I guess after looking again it isn't *quite as bad as I originally thought, at least he is holding it being aimed beside him and must be taking his right hand to the left side of his body to take the photo....it just caught me as an "Oh I see" moment.

Committee is essentially where most bills die. In order to get to the House or Senate floor, they must first go through a committee that is related to the bill's nature. Here are the committees: http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/committees/ Representatives are assigned to various committees for the House, and Senators are assigned to various committees for the Senate. For example, bills regarding knives and firearms typically go before Criminal Justice committees. Got it?

Liability insurance as in bodily injury liability $100,000/$300,000?
-
So I've put the bodily injury for uninsured/underinsured motorists to $100,000/$300,000. I do however have a question. The bodily injury liability is to pay for others' medical costs. The uninsured/underinsured motorists covers medical costs for my passengers and I if an accident is caused by another driver. What if I am in an accident caused by myself? That doesn't really fall into the bodily injury liability or the uninsured/underinsured motorists does it?The coverage for medical payments is the only one that fits what I am describing (in my interpretation). It can only go to $25,000. Theoretically my health insurance would cover my wife and I. What if there was someone that didn't have insurance riding with me? That could get expensive quick. cannoncocker: You may have already answered this.

Ok. That puts it into perspective. Things like that are something you don't really think about too much, but can and do happen. So I'll bump the uninsured/under-insured motorists coverage up. What about "medical payments"?
-
Interesting. Now doesn't this cover my passengers and myself? You'd still go for it even with health insurance? I guess it'd be good for people that may be riding with me that don't have health insurance?
-
I am doing all of this on their website. I actually did set it to $25,000, and I think it changed the 6 month premium by $1. It's a $15k (max) car, I'll go ahead and change that to $25k just because.
-
I very well may try this just because you've suggested and I'm always open to saving money, but I literally have received quotes from roughly 10 different providers and all of them have had auto coverage at over $100 per month. Being a 22 year old male does not equal good auto insurance.

I am 22. I believe on paper I have a clean driving record, although there has been a few bumps and bruises along the way. I have shopped around...a lot. Nationwide is by far the cheapest I have found. It is also for a 2012 Ford Fusion. I am getting quite a few "policy discounts". This seems interesting to me though...what is my alternative? I suppose I have an agent...it's the local Nationwide agent. Can I go straight through Nationwide? And I was thinking quite a bit about the medical payments. I did conclude that the only reason I suppose I"d need it is if I am driving around uninsured health people. Right? Or to cover health insurance deductibles, as stated above. Thanks so far for the input!

Thanks to everyone who talked to me about health insurance a few weeks ago! I decided to keep my wife on my policy at work instead of putting her on her "own" policy, and don't regret it at all. I am now trying to cut "pork" from my auto insurance while keeping what is very important. This is what I've came up with so far. I haven't "submitted" it yet, but here it is: Currently I have a 6 month premium of 471.50. After I make the proposed changes to what is shown above, I will save roughly $120 every six months. I would like everyone's logic as to what you'd do, and why? For anyone curious, this is Nationwide.

Yes...let us pretend for a moment that there was no "negligence" here at all. Lets pretend that this guy had the baby in a crib in the living room, went to get a glass of water, and then came back into the darkened living room. Since the baby had got out of the crib and crawled across the floor, he didn't see her. Glass of water in one hand and chips in the other, he cannot catch himself as he trips onto the baby. Unarguably 100% tragic, arguably 100% accident. How do you go from that to "I don't really know what's wrong with her but she hasn't moved in a while. Here she is. Gotta go!". Any caring person would be calling the emergency services immediately.

Arguably this could be money better spent, but I'd love a hands on demo! http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/rifle-stocks/ar15-gen-2-folding-stock-adapter-sku100011515-55490-114515.aspx?sku=100011515&sp_rid=MzM4MzA1NTMxMDES1&sp_mid=4777407&spMailingID=4777407&spUserID=MzM4MzA1NTMxMDES1&spJobID=144757427&spReportId=MTQ0NzU3NDI3S0 Just in case you guys haven't seen it yet. It's new to me!

Now theres a petition to have a new National Anthem
GlockSpock replied to jphillips63's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How about someone creates a petition to end these useless petitions? It could all be in the name of cutting the budget. -
That depends...does the guy trying to take out a TIE fighter have force powers or not?

These "Zero Tolerance" policies create poisonous environments such as this, or rather, "Zero Tolerance" policies are symptoms of poisonous environments such as this. Here you have a group of high school students that know they did the right thing, but are getting punished for it. So perhaps next time when a student points a gun at one of the administrators, perhaps what will happen is no student will want to confront the shooter because they may get suspended over it. -

Well your reading comprehension is better than you think! The level of stupidity/elitism that school systems perpetuate never seizes to amaze me. -

I wrote an email to all of the "administrators" at the school. Here are there email addresses: TracyAP@leeschools.net TaraDM@leeschools.net adamjk@leeschools.net JohnathanPD@leeschools.net ShellyLT@Leeschools.net Those are from their contact page, as seen here: ShellyLT@Leeschools.net I encourage everyone to write a brief email. If the facts are reported accurately, these administrators need to be called out on hiding behind "Zero Tolerance" and lacking even the smallest measurable amount of common sense. -
