I also very heavily considered paying out of pocket for a smartphone, and then paying $3 for 100MB of data. Then I could check my email wherever I was, and then use WiFi whenever I wanted. I decided to go with the cheapest possible solution for right now, and then maybe later adjust for something like that.

Murfreesboro Police gun buyback this Saturday

Straight from the factory, Comrade! -
A few weeks ago I posted on here regarding how to save money on your monthly mobile phone. Well, I finally found the following service: $25 Off Coupon! It technically uses the Spring network, but offers free voice roaming on Verizon. Since I only use my phone for talking and testing this essentially means I can use the phone wherever I have Spring or Verizon service! What makes this service great is that you pay based upon how much you use. It is I suppose essentially prepaid, but I like the way it works better than most prepaid options. For example, I'll be paying for 500 minutes and 1000 text messages. That will be just a hair over $20 a month. If I use less than the lower tier (100 minutes and/or 100 texts), it would be closer to $12 a month. The tiers are based upon each group (voice, text, and data). You only pay for the tier you use. I am currently under contract with Verizon until 4/30/2013. I've been paying roughly $50 a month (after a 19% discount through my employer). That gets me 450 minutes with unlimited text and mobile to mobile. Roughly $50 through Ting would get you 2000 minutes and 4000 texts. So I feel I'll be saving a lot of money by using the service. Just though I'd pass this information along, because like myself I am sure everyone wouldn't mind saving money. They also have pretty flexible smartphone plans. You can also "Bring Your Own Device" as long as your phone is compatible. I just bought the Samsung Array (the only "Feature Phone" they offer for sale. I will let everyone know how the service works out after I've been using it for a while. But for now I am pretty excited about it because I'll save $30 a month. Ting

One Bomber dead, his brother on the run

http://video.foxnews.com/v/1155606219001/ Looks like they have him alive, in route to hospital. I hope he makes it past the next few days, I am very curious regarding the questions and answers. -

I used to be the type to pay $90 a month for a smartphone. Although I miss many things about doing so, I am now at a point in my life where I have been "simplifying" everything and trying to save money where possible. I've been in a contract with Verizon for a while, but it is up. I currently have a "dumb phone" (which apparently is now called a "feature phone"). I get a 19% discount through my work. My bill for Verizon is right at $50 a month. I've been checking out their "prepaid" plans. I think I could come out monthly at just over $35 a month by using them. However, I am also comparing companies that take advantage of either Sprint's or Verizon's network. So far these are the companies I have looked at: http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/shop/prepaid.html#chooseaplan https://ting.com https://www.pagepluscellular.com I typically used less than 100 minutes a month, probably under 500 text messages, and could care less about data. I am so far very interested in "TING". However, anyone familiar with any prepaid "carrier" that has had nothing but positive experiences with them?

Bill Oreilly arguing for registration
GlockSpock replied to superduty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I used to watch him quite often and read several of his books (over a decade ago). At the time, I felt he was pretty smart, and favored freedom. Now the only times I hear about him is when he is being ridiculous. He has definitely shifted, for one reason or another. -
Well that's what happens sometimes after you have a presidential white house dinner for Republican senators the night before something like this is pushed through. We can only hope the House will show more resistance, but I don't know.

Anyone who can understand Schumers proposal please
GlockSpock replied to Krull's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It still irritates me how they are misleading on the "internet sales". It makes it sound as if anyone can go on the internet, purchase a firearm and have it shipped to their house, no questions asked. Would I like it that way? Ideally, yes! But do not try and paint the picture that this is exactly how you can currently do it, when the truth is obviously far from that. -
I used to be an active member on TFL. In the following posting, I'm the OP: http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=413580 Still have something in my arm and I still get weird nerve tingling every once in a while.

Don't be so naive, a while back they invented band-aids so I doubt he even lost any blood. (If you're going to jump on the anti-9 bandwagon, figured I'd play along) -
Well I think what Benton is trying to say here is that he purchased bulk ammo on the internet, and now is going to sale it. The ammo has never had a tax stamp. I don't know what the law is, never really thought about it in this regard really.

North Korea Propaganda with antique tanks

Anyone ever wonder if this "North Korea Propaganda" is actually "anti North Korea Propaganda"? -
Read this thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/54822-obama-green-lights-un-gun-grab/page-2 Read the part about lasers. It is "rumored" to exist.

Yep of course. I guess after looking again it isn't *quite as bad as I originally thought, at least he is holding it being aimed beside him and must be taking his right hand to the left side of his body to take the photo....it just caught me as an "Oh I see" moment.

Committee is essentially where most bills die. In order to get to the House or Senate floor, they must first go through a committee that is related to the bill's nature. Here are the committees: http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/committees/ Representatives are assigned to various committees for the House, and Senators are assigned to various committees for the Senate. For example, bills regarding knives and firearms typically go before Criminal Justice committees. Got it?
