  1. I'll admit, I still use Paypal sometimes. However, due to multiple reasons (anti-gun, fees, etc), I've tried to steer clear of them. Because of this, I've given PopMoney two tries now, each for a transaction on TGO. I've only been on the receiving end of it, but so far so good. I think I have figured out the following regarding PopMoney:   If your bank supports PopMoney, your money should be in your account in 2-3 days If your bank does not support PopMoney, expect your money in a week (PopMoney can transfer to any routing number) Some banks let you send money for free, others I believe charge a small $.99 fee. Your results may vary. Overall, it's been a positive experience for me. In my opinion, eventually you have to ignore the line somewhere. I'm sure if you really dig deep, you'll find that PopMoney and/or the banks that use it are somewhat anti-gun. However, if you use a bank at all, chances are they do not truly support you. I'm not sure how well PopMoney protects you as the seller/buyer, so perhaps just use it for transactions you can trust?
  2. I'd say stick with what works, Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Each of those are made to last a very long time, and you can find aftermarket accessories all over the place for them.
  3. Old Native American tribes in this area used to honor other tribes' by leaving a "payment" of weapons on the other tribes' land if they felt that they may be wrongfully encroaching upon their land.   I'd say you're good to go;)
  4. Almost a year ago when shopping I went into the Crown Dodge place in Cleveland. I had already found on their website a used Chevrolet Trailblazer they had for sale. I pulled into their lot, walked around a while, and didn't see anyone. I went inside, stood for a while, and everyone ignored my wife and myself. They salespeople were just talking between themselves. I said quite loudly that I would like to take a look at the Trailblazer they had for sale. The salesman starts off with "Do we even have a Trailblazer for sale?". I explained I had seen it on their website, and saw it across the parking lot when I pulled in. About that time a sales manager comes around the corner and proclaims "Yep, we have one, it's across the lot, take him out there right now to look at it!".    He takes us around a bit. We leave.   Never have I had the experience except for this time of driving to a car dealership and feeling like they really don't care anything about selling you a vehicle. It was very hot this day (100+). I guess the salesmen were just too hot to sale a car!
  5. Also, if you look at the bottom right again, look for the guy in shorts and the white pullover with stripes (it has "CCM" on it).  He is in the "photo" three times, as is the guy with "Boston 44" written on this shirt.
  6. They've been doing stuff like this for concerts for a while now. However, I don't think that that is necessarily one photo taken by a single camera. I think they probably have a camera that essentially is on a rotating fixture, and it automatically takes lots of photos and stitches them together. For example, look at the bottom right, all the way, and then look up a hair at the sidewalk. There are several headless legs walking around.
  7. For those that do not know, Pixelmator is an image editing program for Mac OS X. They recently updated to version 2.2. I purchased it and am loving going through the tutorials. Today I was going through their website, and found something that caught my attention:   http://www.pixelmator.com/company/   Slide #3   It strikes me as odd for several reasons.    1) Most software companies are anti-gun 2) Their address is a UK address   I don't know the meaning of the AR in the picture, but it strikes me as at least being pro-gun. Is it real? I cannot tell for sure, but it looks real to me. Just caught me off guard enough to want to pass it along.
  8. Signed up for Charter 11 months ago. 6 months into it they go from $29.99 a month to $49.99 a month. Of course, this was the end of their promotional pricing. I sucked it up and kept it (internet). Few weeks later I got a letter saying my bill would go up $2 a month. What? Sucked it up. Probably 5 times during this period I called and complained, asking for better rates. Last week I got on their webchat, simply stated I was looking for a better rate, and low and behold, this guy says he can give me the internet for $39 a month! So I actually am pretty happy right now with Charter...hopefully they won't screw it up anytime soon.   Verizon Wireless...yeah. About 3 weeks ago my phone charger broke (for a Samsung Alias 2). I was 2 weeks from being out of contract with them. I went in to tell them all I wanted to do was switch to their $35 prepaid plan and purchase a Samsung Intensity III at prepaid pricing. They couldn't (wouldn't) sell me anything. However, I needed a phone charger that day so the salesman convinced me to purchase a phone charger ($29.99-25% discount) and then bring it back when I got a new phone. I went for it because I didn't want to go all over town looking for Samsung's special charger. I didn't pay close enough attention to the receipt. I went Monday to take the charger back, roughly 2.5 weeks after the purchase, and that is when I found out Verizon has a 14 day return window for accessories. I assumed it'd be 30, but it wasn't.    All in all, they lost me as a customer due to a lot of small things like that, and I switched to a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) called Ting. Verizon was never at all willing to work with me just a bit. I even told them in the store that they could keep me as a customer by selling me the prepaid phone and switch me two weeks early to the prepaid pricing. I had actually already paid the following month's bill at the time, so financially speaking I was already out of contract. All in all I suppose they aren't interested in penny pinchers like me, they would rather spend time finding another person to pay well over a couple hundred for several smartphones in their family.    Kudos to Verizon for having that much market share (if you will) that they don't feel they need to give me any bargaining power at all. I just know of all the bills I paid/have paid, Verizon was always the one that frustrated me the most.
  9. Received my Ting phone last Saturday. Started the number port at that time. It took around 24 hours to complete to port. I have sent Ting support a few random questions, all of them have been answered in a very timely manner. So far, I'm very satisfied with them.    I highly recommend Ting for anyone who might wish to save a few bucks on their phone, and doesn't need a lot of data. If I ever have a negative experience with them, I'll update here. Otherwise, 100% satisfaction as of right now.
  10. Well...I think $400 might be alright. $350 would be a pretty good deal. Perhaps add $50 to each of those if you particularly like the gun.
  11. I also very heavily considered paying out of pocket for a smartphone, and then paying $3 for 100MB of data. Then I could check my email wherever I was, and then use WiFi whenever I wanted. I decided to go with the cheapest possible solution for right now, and then maybe later adjust for something like that.
  12. Straight from the factory, Comrade!
  13. A few weeks ago I posted on here regarding how to save money on your monthly mobile phone. Well, I finally found the following service: $25 Off Coupon!   It technically uses the Spring network, but offers free voice roaming on Verizon. Since I only use my phone for talking and testing  this essentially means I can use the phone wherever I have Spring or Verizon service!   What makes this service great is that you pay based upon how much you use. It is I suppose essentially prepaid, but I like the way it works better than most prepaid options. For example, I'll be paying for 500 minutes and 1000 text messages. That will be just a hair over $20 a month. If I use less than the lower tier (100 minutes and/or 100 texts), it would be closer to $12 a month. The tiers are based upon each group (voice, text, and data). You only pay for the tier you use.    I am currently under contract with Verizon until 4/30/2013. I've been paying roughly $50 a month (after a 19% discount through my employer). That gets me 450 minutes with unlimited text and mobile to mobile. Roughly $50 through Ting would get you 2000 minutes and 4000 texts. So I feel I'll be saving a lot of money by using the service. Just though I'd pass this information along, because like myself I am sure everyone wouldn't mind saving money. They also have pretty flexible smartphone plans. You can also "Bring Your Own Device" as long as your phone is compatible. I just bought the Samsung Array (the only "Feature Phone" they offer for sale.   I will let everyone know how the service works out after I've been using it for a while. But for now I am pretty excited about it because I'll save $30 a month.   Ting
  14. http://www.addictinggames.com/strategy-games/pandemic2.jsp   I'm selling plane tickets to Madagascar for $10,000. Any takers?

  16.   Unless you add salt to it.
  17. I don't know anything about boiling guns, but I have baked a firearm or two :squint:   http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=429878   Seriously though, that is me, and I did do that to my first 1911.   If you're in for a good laugh      Disclaimer:That was a long time ago, possibly even in a galaxy far far away.
  18. http://video.foxnews.com/v/1155606219001/   Looks like they have him alive, in route to hospital. I hope he makes it past the next few days, I am very curious regarding the questions and answers.
  19.   http://www.bu.edu/com/comment/library/downloads/2010_comment.pdf In that publication, look at page 22 (by the pagenumbers). Look at point #11.
  20. In my class, there were a few there that had never fired a firearm in their life. Not a single person there failed the class that day. I would not worry about it.
  21. I used to be the type to pay $90 a month for a smartphone. Although I miss many things about doing so, I am now at a point in my life where I have been "simplifying" everything and trying to save money where possible. I've been in a contract with Verizon for a while, but it is up. I currently have a "dumb phone" (which apparently is now called a "feature phone"). I get a 19% discount through my work. My bill for Verizon is right at $50 a month. I've been checking out their "prepaid" plans. I think I could come out monthly at just over  $35 a month by using them. However, I am also comparing companies that take advantage of either Sprint's or Verizon's network. So far these are the companies I have looked at:   http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/shop/prepaid.html#chooseaplan https://ting.com https://www.pagepluscellular.com     I typically used less than 100 minutes a month, probably under 500 text messages, and could care less about data. I am so far very interested in "TING". However, anyone familiar with any prepaid "carrier" that has had nothing but positive experiences with them?
  22. I used to watch him quite often and read several of his books (over a decade ago). At the time, I felt he was pretty smart, and favored freedom. Now the only times I hear about him is when he is being ridiculous. He has definitely shifted, for one reason or another.
  23. Well that's what happens sometimes after you have a presidential white house dinner for Republican senators the night before something like this is pushed through. We can only hope the House will show more resistance, but I don't know.
  24. It still irritates me how they are misleading on the "internet sales". It makes it sound as if anyone can go on the internet, purchase a firearm and have it shipped to their house, no questions asked. Would I like it that way? Ideally, yes! But do not try and paint the picture that this is exactly how you can currently do it, when the truth is obviously far from that.
