Saw a shady deal at Academy- with pic

Ummm...yeah. You put http:// twice. http://www.armslist.com/posts/2769304/knoxville-tennessee-ammo-for-sale-trade--22lr-bucket-o-bullets-and-1000rd-m22 -
So I am very tempted to purchase the PD35 for myself. What is important for me is for the light to be usable as a blinding/disorienting tool easily without complication. I notice that it has an "instant strobe" accessible by holding the side button (I believe). My question is whether or not it will "remember" strobe mode. For example, if I am about to go for a night walk and I turn the light on "strobe" mode before I get started, will it remember that it is on strobe mode for the duration of the walk? How well does the memory function work? Does it theoretically remember what setting it is on forever as long as you leave the battery in?

Metal Detecting Finds (Update, 3 hits, 3 finds in 20 minutes)
GlockSpock replied to a topic in General Chat
The couple who found the 10 million in Gold Coins are now facing arrest. In California there is a law that states any find over XX amount has to be reported to the Police and an ad ran to find the decendents of the owners of the find. Now, they face arrest for finding the coins on their own property, but not reporting them. The IRS says they owe them 4 million, even if they do not sell the coins. The Government says they were likely the stolen hoard from the SF mint and that they belong to the Government. They owe the State 17% tax (1.7 million) for the find. They might as well forget it. Between the Fed, the IRS (seperately), the State of California and the local police, they are going to end up with nothing.
'Merica! Yeeeeaaaahhhh!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So is that the range up there you were telling me about a while back? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I shipped (20 I think) PMAG's to a member on here. I generally add tracking numbers to my iOS app "Deliveries" and just make sure they all get delivered. Probably a week or so later I get a message from that person just asking the status of his PMAG's. Told him that I didn't know but would check. My iOS app told me that it had been delivered! He hadn't seen them though, and I took his word for it since he has good feedback on here. I figured that either they had been stolen off his porch or stolen by the USPS person. I called the Post Office in Brentwood, spoke with the Postmaster over a few days, and eventually discovered that a driver had "scanned it as delivered but meant to scan it as attempted delivery". Accidents happen, but I was very concerned that one of us was going to be out of some money. In the end it worked out. The Postmaster was very helpful, but it did cause me to rethink some things. You know who you are!

I'll do you one better. Lets keep the possibility for obtaining a HCP for cross-state compatibility, initiate constitutional carry in TN, and then make it illegal to use a firearm to do something illegal. Win-Win! In high school in one class we had a "conversation" that was based on the fact someone stabbed someone with a swiss army knife on school property. The teacher was asking "what could be done" to prevent things like that happening in the future. I told him that they should just make it against the law to stab someone, and he responded that it already was. I responded with "And a lot of good that did".

Sure...I understand that your heavier populated areas have much more representation than your more sparingly populated areas, but if that many states have already passed them and there are that many more that have at least introduced bills, perhaps someday something can indeed be done at the national level. It'd take a different political climate, that's for sure.

Ok. Just ate an apple the way it was shown. If you start from the bottom as shown and then eat your way up, you can eat the entire thing and it isn't weird. The "core" gets "mixed" in with the "meat" of the apple and it is in no way weird. The whole thing was easily edible and as a bonus the seeds are probably really good for you anyway. Off to look for a banana!
-
Whenever we make smoothies we just use the entire apple. The Vitamix blends them so smooth you'd never know whether or not you used the core and seeds. Eating the entire apple like they show seems odd but I am going to try it when I get home.

And you could potentially snag a used one at a decent price from someone who had to have one but didn't like it.

CZ9mm's Continual Reloading Thread
GlockSpock replied to GlockSpock's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
So, it's time to mount the press. I built a bench yesterday and will be mounting the press soon, depending on how I decide to do it. My current question is whether or not anyone has any experience with the Lee Mounting Plate? I do have the desire to possibly someday purchase the Lee Classic Turret for reloading handgun rounds. I also foresee that sometime I may wish to remove the press for multiple reasons (moving bench, using bench for other purposes, etc). Thus, if the ability to easily swap presses in and out using a plate such as this does not hinder using the press in any way, I'd love to use on of these. So as long as it does not take away from any aspect of using the press (stability, precision, etc), I think I'll purchase one! -
tnguy paid me for some PMAG's in BitCoin a while back. Now I just hate reading about BitCoin at all because I remember reading about it 4-6 years ago at some point but being concerned about the stability of it. Now it just makes me queasy thinking about the growth since then.

Just curious. What exactly happened that he messed up a $1500 rifle?

I most certainly will purchase a kinetic puller soon. Also, I've always wanted a chronograph but I haven't been able to justify purchasing one. Perhaps I'll get one someday. -
CZ9mm's Continual Reloading Thread
GlockSpock replied to GlockSpock's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Certainly understood that before I got started. Although I missed it this 13'-14' Winter, I've been wanting a really good indoor hobby for the cold period of the year. This is just the thing! Starting out with a small component purchase, I haven't really checked but I imagine if you buy your components in bulk you can get 9mm below $0.13 a round! Obviously casting would reduce that cost in half or more, but casting is something I may pickup after I have a really good understanding and experience with reloading. I think my next firearm purchase I save up for will be a .308 rifle. I would really like to get into making match grade ammo and shooting it long range. That'll be a pretty good way's off though. -
CZ9mm's Continual Reloading Thread

Just spoke with David, hopefully will be able to meet with him tomorrow. Based upon his pricing, I should be able to reload 9mm for about $0.1325 a round! That's assuming free brass of course and that I don't waste a single component. I think the last time I purchased 9mm locally it was $22 for a box of 50, or roughly $0.44 a round. Using that as my alternative cost, I am saving about $0.30 a round. My equipment (excluding the bench I'm about to build) was $265.16. Theoretically speaking, after I reload 883.8666666667 rounds (I'll call that 884 for simplicity's sake), I will have paid for my fixed equipment purchase! Now, that's buying local rounds. Assuming that I could find ammo online for $0.25 a round for quality Winchester like I did a few years ago, I still break even after only 2,256 rounds! Of course this just means I will shoot more and buy more reloading equipment soon, but I'm very excited about this! -

Update! Just made a MidwayUSA purchase, after it arrives here is everything that I will have: Lee Classic Cast Lee Universal Decapping Die MTM Universal Reloading Tray Lee Deluxe Carbide 4-Die Set 9mm Luger Frankford Arsenal Electronic Caliper Hornady Lock-N-Load Conversion Lyman Electronic Scale Powder Funnel Pan Frankford Arsenal DS-750 Electronic Scale Lee Perfect Powder Measure Sometime this weekend I will be building my bench, mounting my press, and hopefully unboxing Midway! For powders, primer, and bullets, I am going to keep it as simple as possible. I'm going to ask David what to buy, and keep it at that. -
The reason I said that I'm interested in the Model B is because this looks like a decent place to purchase it: http://www.buffaloarms.com/Thumblers_Tumbler_it-164290.aspx?TERM=tumbler Shipping brings it to $200. Still have to purchase the media and separator if you want. The $300 deal on STM isn't bad, it just hurts the wallet worse.

I was thinking it would be neat to take a pvc pipe and fix it up for a container and then attach it to a stationary bike or something with pedals. It would be much cheaper than using an electric motor and would be capable of being used without power. If you had a spare bike or stationary bike sitting around, it could be done very cheaply. I almost think I have decided on the Model B. The problem with STM is they charge $40 for shipping. I almost assumed it was built into their price at $250 or so. Turns out the order I was going to make was $300. It is an awesome system and the results are definitely there, but is it worth it? I'm looking at what my best options are. I want one, but $300 is a lot.

It doesn't bother me to find out when an actor or actress is anti-gun. What bothers me is when that same actor or actress portrays a character that is very pro-gun. Most of the time this is done in a LEO setting, such as NCIS and Mark Harmon. You can be anti-gun all you want, but to show examples on tv and movies in which good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns is so hypocritical. I suppose it is the whole "We trust the elites with them but not they common with them" thing.
