  1. I'm a pretty big Apple fan myself. I like the direction the Ultra is going, I just hope it's popular enough that Apple continues to evolve this line. Truthfully, if this one had solar, I'd probably buy it. I may splurge purchase one if I find extra money at some point, but short term I don't see myself buying one because it would offer me little other than the enjoyment factor of such a device. Yes, the Garmin devices are very nice. I've never owned one but a few coworkers are fanatical about them. One of them does triathlon type events, it makes perfect sense for him to have one. The other coworker I believe just uses it for exercise type tracking, but I think he'd be better served by an Apple Watch. For me, Siri and Apple Pay, along with integrations with HomeKit and Shortcuts, mean I couldn't possibly be happy with a Garmin. I love laying on the couch and being able to control the TV with the watch on my arm instead of looking for the remote. I can use an app called "Lyd" to controll my Sonos speakers throughout the house. And once you get hooked on the "Ping Phone" function of the Apple Watch, you'll wonder how you ever found your phone beforehand. I can turn on my home PC from anywhere in the world with simply my voice and my Apple Watch, assuming I've got a data connection. You can create Shortcuts that use SSH to SSH into something and run a command, so you are truthfully only limited in this regard by your own programming skills. If I wasn't such an IT nerd or hooked into the Apple ecosystem, I'd probably sport a Garmin (or maybe just a G-Shock). My hopes are that Apple develops an Apple Watch series that is more rugged overall, includes solar, and an included LED flashlight would actually be amazing.
  2. The suspect, Cleotha Henderson, is charged with first-degree murder, especially aggravated assault and tampering with/fabricating evidence. In this circumstance, what did he do that they are charging him for tampering with/fabricating evidence? Maybe something like he tried to toss weapons/drugs/etc out the window before getting caught?
  3. This is a place for tomfoolery and nonsensical fun...not meaningful discussion or well thought out posts.
  4. I think I made a bunch of meaningful progress. The most important thing I realized is...this is not an important issue. The vehicle makes this clicking noise when in Accessory mode, engine and AC off. This makes me think it is actuator related or something similar. Low and behold, turns out that this is a very common "issue" with 4Runners. https://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/169073-ticking-noise-behind-dash-4th-gen.html It indeed sounds like it is coming from behind the dash/behind or beside the glove box. I changed the cabin filter the other day and today went back into that location for troubleshooting this issue. I followed some of the instructions on that thread showing you to turn your air to as low as it will go to the highest it'll go. I cycled back and forth a few times as well as cycled the vents (floor, face, defrost, etc) a few times. From hearing the tick to doing all of this, the ticking stopped. Fingers crossed, hopefully it won't come back on the short term. There is this, which I'd probably do if I have to just to eliminate the noise:
  5. Any tips for troubleshooting such an issue, especially when it isn't always prevalent?
  6. Yes, sitting in the driver's seat. I haven't yet determined cold vs warm, but it doesn't change rhythm at all if I increase the rpm. The frustrating thing is...I haven't been able to reproduce the sound over the previous few days. But I heard the sound multiple times throughout a day or two. I was honestly thinking it was something on the serpentine belt system, be it a pulley or tensioner or alternator or anything else. But...if it was, what are the chances it would go away and come back over the course of days?
  7. My 2007 4Runner has developed an interesting noise that I haven't noticed until now. If this thread doesn't lead anywhere direct I suppose I'll try and take it to a local mechanic but I'm curious what thoughts/troubleshooting methods there may be available here. I recorded the following sound while parked in my driveway. At approximately 18 seconds, you can hear the ticking noise change rhythm. At approximately 26 seconds, you can hear the ticking noise disappear completely. At roughly 35 seconds, the tick resumes. This was in P, idling, with no change in acceleration. The AC/Fan was off, although the AC may have been "on" dependent upon whether it is still possibly on even if the AC fan is off. I've got about 150,000 miles on this vehicle, V6. Technical note, I believe the file should play in most browsers here. Dependent upon the device, I was able to reliably hear the tick as long as the speakers go loud enough. I suspect a mobile device with headphones/etc would probably product the sound most reliably. To get it to upload to the forum, I changed the file extension from .m4a to .mp4. It should play but if it doesn't, downloading the file and renaming to .m4a should "fix" that issue. 4Runner.mp4
  8. This is true but he only had 27 million to start with.
  9. I dipped my toes in at $25.00 and 4 shares.
  10. Sorry to hear that. What is his username?
  11. Well, you have a "For Sale ad" and posted that quote, which doesn't seem to lineup with the ad. So, perhaps the question is what are you going on about?
  12. So that’s what Triple G stands for.
  13. But if the update somehow messed up, it is possible you could hook your current phone up to a computer in DFU mode, restore the phone, and then fix it (assuming it is a simple software corruption). https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode I'd try this first as it would be exactly $0.00 if it works. Warning: Putting an iPhone into DFU mode and restoring via iTunes/Finder will result in possible data loss dependent upon how/whether you have backups via local/iCloud. But if the phone currently does not work I'm not sure you have anything to lose.
  14. I know you said you couldn't swing $1,000 for a new phone right now, but I just want to make sure you are aware of the iPhone SE line. You can buy it directly from Apple for $429. https://www.apple.com/iphone-se/ Depending on how much you were planning on spending, a few extra bills may get you to this. This would get you a brand new phone with warranty vs buying an older used phone that may not make it much more than a few months without issue. Since you live in Nashville you should be able to swing by one of your Apple Stores to purchase one.
  15. I'm on a PD2500Q, which I have for several specific reasons, but overall I must state that I absolutely love BenQ but feel overall they are severely underappreciated in the hardware world.
  16. I think to continue this thread the topic needs to stay on the discussion of state/federal powers and not on abortion rights, etc.
  17. Interesting/good observation. How about now?
  18. I'm pretty sure none of us were excited to see what he meant by "I'ma pop smoke here".
  19. TheLulz was already banned when you called for his banning, and "Looks like someone took the slow train from Philly" was a quote from The Office, although after posting the quote I remembered Angela didn't mean it the way it sounds (hint: it isn't inferring lack of intelligence/whit). It was a bad joke that I screwed up.
  20. Addressing the emboldened section in your reply above, you think that...and I happen to agree with you...but there are plenty of people that disagree with us. A lot of people sincerely believe that modern weapons are too dangerous (compared to muskets) and that the founding fathers would agree. I'm just trying to point out that there are many issues that are exactly the same. For you and I it is as clear as water, others see it as mud.
  21. Also, please note, since this involves Tennessee I'm vaguely open to allowing discussion (another mod may disagree entirely and axe the thread) but keep it civil. This is the only warning.
