1. If I remember right, it's a shilen barrel, 8.5" or 7.5, and I think the block is 2-3" past the chamber. Ill measure when I get it back. It's in the mail right now. Me and a buddy used to hand this thing off to eachother and use it whenever one of us wanted, but he's the one that built it, so I'm not 100% sure on the specs. When it gets here ill know more. And I can call and ask him about the barrel and all that stuff. He got it to run 100% using 208 a-max and his data is with the upper in the box. Give me a couple days and I can really comment more on it
2. That is what I am working with. Ill have to go get some new powders. Not a big deal. Glad to know your gun eats anything with a short gas system. I'd imagine mine will as well. He sent me his load data with it. And everything you see. So, guess I just need to start working up some loads!
3.   Now your just showing off :)   care to sell some of your cast bullets that are coated??? :)   The Blackout is based of the Whisper. J.D Jones decided he didn't want to sell his design and have it SAMMI spec'd. so AAC revamped it and made the Blackout and made it a SAMMI round and made bank off it. Jones should have does the same... The Whisper has been out since like... the early 1990's if I remember right. So, been a hot minute.    Has anyone tried RL15 (I'd imagine its to slow) or H335? I found some data for 13.86gr of H335 for sub loads doing 1050ish with 220's. But, I have a big stock of 175's and wonder if it'll work and cycle the action.
4. This is my first attempt at making the brass. I've had a 300 whisper on and off for a while. Now, I officially am keeping it (usually goes back and forth between me and a friend). I've never made the ammo for it, he has. So, now that its mine, I'm all in. I have a couple gallon buckets of un-useable .223 brass with bad necks. Kept them thinking some day I'll actually load for this thing. The dies are on there way, so now I'm just cutting, ream and chamfering, tumbling, then once the dies get here I'll run them through there, then trim to size, tumble again, and BOOM, useable brass! Here is what I have so far: Nifty jig I made to run with the bandsaw. can slice 5 cases in a matter of a second or two. Way to easy. SUPPPPPPER simple. Does anyone else load for the 300 Whisper?? If so, ever loaded 175SMK's? I have about 1500 of those left, and 100 168's. Main powder I have is RL15 and H335, but have about 10 other kinds from greendot to 4046 to a big mix of stuff. Whatcha got?!?!
5. your not using to much lube are you?
6. I only ride at LBL now. Thats why I was curious if there was anywhere else around here (Nashville).    Glad there is some other riders on here!   Anyone care to head to LBL with me anytime??
7. Is there anybody that rides dirt bikes on here? If so, where does everyone ride? Any favorite places around Nashville within 2 hours? I ride a 06' YZ250 with an Eric Gorr 295 kit ported for mid running 92. 8. offer is still open to anyone wanting to use mine. just PM me.
9. AIRBORNE!
10. I have a mill if you'd like to use it. Bring your own jig though. It's a harbor freight and just big enough to fit the lower.
11. love the comments. education? who needs it.
12. Heck if they worked good dont change it. Save the powder and keep loading lower charges!
13. Ps. Also done 5gr with berrys 124's with great results.
14. I shoot 5gr unique with my Berrys plated 115's. amazing load. And amazingly accurate. DMark and myself shot them in my mp5 to 220 yards at GGC with zero issues. (Just a good hold over. Haha). 5gr I'd say will so you good. I have my chrono data at home somewhere I can find when I fly back in tonight if you'd like to know the speed as well.
15. Bought myself an osprey 45 and submitted my form yesterday. That's two in right now
16. niceeeeee! congrats on the garand!
17. no kidding, its not a rattlesnake. it's not going to just jump out of her holster and shot one of those kids next to her, or go off and shoot a gas tank in a car and make a massive explosion that will rattle the earth.    it's sad she is doing the minimum requirements, because there is a lot of potential to turn someone like her into a someone that enjoys shooting and respects the sport.
18. I carry a 1911 because I'm a silent professional.
19. Already have. Bigger calibers like 300-338 have a 90t mount now hah.
20. I run AAC 51T's on all my AR's and about to start putting them on my bolt guns as well for the fact that their SDN6 can be run on all my calibers. easy to just ratchet one can on to a bunch of guns over buying a bunch of cans.
21. Yup, we'll be next.....   NOT.   Just like how the Air Force tribute wasn't banned because it might upset muslims.
22. XD 9mm. got it right when they came on the market. my dad even had to buy it for me because i wasn't 21 yet. still have it. its a running joke with some friends to see if we can get it to jam. i'd say about 11,000 rounds and 2 jams so far. runs like a top still. barely has any finish on the slide left.
23. well, if it came down to it, for an everything pistol round. hunting, personal defense, all that stuff, 10mm. MP5 in 10mm would be perfect to me. Bet a lot of people argue with me on that, but hey, what do I know... and if you dont reload, hope you have lots of cash monies for it... if you do reload, then its super cheap. uses all .40 components, just need the brass. light, charging handle is up front, and doesnt move with the bolt, again: its light and its short. everything your looking for. expensive... but sounds like your willing to drop some serious cash anyways. UMP would be another good way to go as well. something else to consider for sure.
