Proof pretty much the 22 ammo thing is about over
173rdABN replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I wish it was true and a positive sign, but I still just don't see it happening anytime soon. I'm with others. I stocked up years ago and don't shoot it that much. What I have should last years to come. And I really don't have that much compared to others. -
Zombie and Night Match--Music City Tactical Shooters

Mark, if you can find a way to mount a light to my mp5, it's all yours! I keep meaning to get a surefire for it... If only I wasn't so lazy... -
Check out TYR tactical. I run a PICO at home or a low pro from them at work as well as their Venator. Amazing quality. You pay for what you get though.

And, he went there. Haha.

Yupppppppp! I'm with you scout. I'm tired of waiting months and months, then some more months. I have yet to even call on my two in right now. One went in June, and the other July. So we'll see... -

Red, I'll go grab them now. Was loading up some 308 so give me a few minutes to take pics and upload them.

I have 3 black diamonds, loose, all GIA certified. Does anyone know a good place to sell them? Heck, does anyone want to trade anything for them? I have a 2.71, 4.5ish and 5.4ish. Forgot the last two. They just sit in my safe. I'll never use them, and want to get some money out of them.

I thought about that, and next summer if I don't care for how it's reacting with the heat I'll put snap in carpeting in there. I love it like this for now at least because when it's dirty I can just hose out the boat and it's clean. Carpet gets all molding and nasty after a while. When I ripped mine up it was full of black mold and just disgusting. That was also glued down. If I go the snap in carpet route I can at least take it out and clean it and just snap it back in. It's a thought, but will be next years project.

The bow is big enough that my wife can lay in there and I can curl up in there, and there is also a toilet in the center under the cushion. It's a pretty big cabin. Great for storing munchies and purses pretty much. No one ever uses it. Ha

What's your favorite mid-range rifle caliber?
173rdABN replied to JohnC's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
308 for me. Hands down. Great for up close, and long range. It's a military caliber and very abundant. World comes to an end, you'll find a lot more 308 around than 6br or wildcat like. -
Need advice on plates for my new vest
173rdABN replied to Erik88's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
It does use ceramic. Meant for esapi or sapi. That's what they are cut inside to fit. Also, meant to use soft armor in conjunction with those plates. If you get a similar cut, and let's say a stand alone, you'll need to make padding for it to conform and hold the plates in place because they will not be as thick as sapi style plates and rattle around. Pm me and we can go a lot more in depth. Also, I have something for you if your interested. -
I just got some single barrel, #7 and #2 because I was running low. This #2 is pretty darn amazing as well if you have not tried it get. High proof than #7 as well.

You old folk.... Haha. I have about 10 metal cans of powder I got from my grandpa. Wonder if there is a price on those...
-
Usually I hear the opposite. People think the 40 is to "snappy" and get worse groups.
-
I might head over today just to see if they have powder. I can't find what I'm looking for in any store around. Kinda stinks.
-
I was thinking more real world use. Stock might be folded in your car or truck to make it compact and easy to fit next to you, but when you need it you have to then unfold it, which means finding the space to do so, which takes time, then using it when needed. Things like that is what I consider with this. But then again, that's also my line of work. If it's a range gun, and you want it to fit into a compact case for your trunk, more power to you, but then it still adds more length in the end with the adaptor. This product just isn't my cup of tea.
-
If only powder was still $16.....
-
I have cans from my grandpa from the 60's. All work fine, were in his basement and are completely useable. If they are in your basement as well, and stayed cool and dry, i see no reason to not use them.
-
I see no use for this. More time consuming to deploy your weapon when every second counts, and in the long run, your adding more length. Cool concept, but not for me.

The bell is supposed to be there.

Load developing my Accuracy International
173rdABN replied to jphillips63's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Hey mike, I was about to ask that as well. Had to zoom in on the pictures to notice the info is there. He's using 4064 at 41.2-42.4 grains. 4064 is amazing powder. And that's why the mk316 mod 0 rounds went back to it. I've been working up a load in my MATEN with the exact same bullets and powder as well. But I'm limited to PMag length at 2.805 for reliable feeding. If I could seat further out than that I feel I'd be able to get better groups. So far your groups look amazing for the first batch of test rounds. If my mp5 ever sells I'll be joining you gentlemen in the AI club.
