  1. No FFL needed, nice perks to the job.
  2. I personally like to stay with what's proven and had time to get the quirks tweeked and worked out. After that time, go with what you want. JMHO. Good luck with your decision. I also don't think you'll lose anymore money on trade in later than you'll lose right now, unless you're going to put it through a torture test.
  3. This thread is not about buying foreign or American products. It's about M&Ps and Glocks. American or "Jap" cars is not the topic, so let's stay on topic shall we? Thanks.

    I'm torn G26 or G27

I vote this idea also. Get the 9MM now and the 40 cal later. Or vice versa. Whatever blows your skirt up.
  5. Greens military on Lebanon Rd probably.
  6. Right now, my pocket gun is a weak side J frame revolver in a kydex Aholster. I'm about to get a G26 to carry in a strongside pocket Aholster, Crossbreed Supertuck IWB, or Galco ankle glove so it sounds like the back pocket mag wallet wouldn't work for me, but thanks for putting that out for some of our Kahr and 1911 guys that might read here.
  7. The Unit Big Bang Theory How I met Your Mother two and a Half Men CSI Miami Sons of Anarchy Law and Order ( All of them but like SVU the best) Fringe Supernatural Friday Night Lights Leaverage I watch all these shows strictly to turn my brain off and be entertained. Yes, they all are very fictional from a couple brothers killing demons to heroesque gun running motorcycle clubs to a hot chick living next door and hanging out with 4 nerds. None of it's real, but it can be entertaining. JMO
  8. I only carry a multitool because I find myself using the pliers or screwdriver in my line of work. I also carry the little black flashlight for work. It's dark up in the ass-end of an airplane where I work often. I carry a pocket knife all the time and use it for opening boxes or plastic parts bags and that type of thing. Everybody carries a cell phone and most on here carry a handgun of some sort. We all carry keys. And some or most carry extra ammo or a spare magazine. Anything more seems a little overkill. Some guys carry OC spray, 2 or 3 knives, and a 3rd gun. I just think that's borderline silly, but that's just my opinion. Talk amongst yourselves and I'll sit back and read.
  9. That's why I'm thinking in the SmartCarry rig. That way, it is directly in front. It's reachable with either hand. I'll always know where its at and how its oriented. It don't occupy the pocket I carry a gun in. I wont accidentally try to stuff my flashlight into the magwell of my pistol instead of grabbing the spare mag. What about that?
  10. With 2 cell phone cases on my belt, I might either look like Batman or a drug dealer. Either way, drawing unwanted attention.
  11. So maybe the SmartCarry rig with my spare mag in it or the J frame in it. At least the spare mag can't shoot me in "the Junk.":D
  12. When I took the Advanced Concealed Carry class, Dustin let me borrow his speed loaders and speed strips for my J frame that day. I liked the flat easy concealment of the strips. I carry my J frame often times in the SmartCarry holster which has a side pocket that those strips would slip right into. He also had little belt clips that hold the speed loaders which worked well also as long as you aren't showing your belt. I think the strips are the way to go for concealment though, however the loader is faster.
  13. Friends, I'm considering carrying a spare mag in case of mag failure. I already carry my Blackberry and a multiplier for work on my belt and have no desire to appear as a mall ninja or batman with a bunch of stuff on my belt. I'm thinking of a loose mag in the pocket, but I'm sure there are good reasons not to carry this way. Plus since I carry my keys, flashlight, and pocket knife in one front pocket and gun in the other, there's no place for it there, so what to do? An IWB mag holder or ankle holster for the spare? Ideas? Thanks.
  14. Lets just keep it relative to the original post informing someone about the M&P and not turn the thread into a flame war on which tactical tupperware is better. Thanks.
  15. OK guys, keep it civil or I'll have to close the thread and take further actions. Don't make me use my special mod powers. We should all be grownups. Consider this the warning. Thanks.
  16. I can't believe you didn't get the memo. Better get out and get one. Seriously though, I think the size of the G19, the cost of 9MM ammo, and "Glock perfection" quality make it a popular choice.
  17. Let's get off of the mark up subject and back on the subject of police trade in pistols. This is a handgun forum not jewelry, pizza, office supplies or whatever. If you have info related to the OP, please share, but for discussions about general mark ups, post it in the general non gun section of TGO. Thanks.
  18. I don't know about Don Hume specifically, but have you looked at Greenes Military on Lebanon Rd? They have a wall full of LOTS of holsters. All kinds, different prices. Wouldn't hurt to go look. They will tell you to bring the gun for fitting, unloaded and safety checked, naturally. Go check them out. You might find a good, cheap alternative.
  19. Lets keep it civil and on topic. Thanks.
  20. You old guys did all kinds of crazy stuff back in the 70's. That classic lite Galco looks pretty comfortable. It don't cost as much as some of the other ones.

    Ive got $500

    +1
  22. Good luck with the Kimber. I hope it serves you as well as the Glock did.

    I'm torn G26 or G27

I'm voting for the G26 also for the reasons of price & availability of ammo, quicker follow up shots, and no desire to convert a 40 to a 9MM. I'm getting a G26 soon myself for those reasons. I just dont see where a 40 fits in my needs. I also plan to get my wife a 9MM and don't want to have to buy more calibers of ammo.
  24. So Matt, I'm curious. What did you do to get permission from the wife to buy the Kimber? Sell the Glock, the Ruger, or what?
  25. Just do it before it freezes. That would be bad to get hit by a ricochet from shooting at ice.
