  1. The SF used be be ignored for the most part by the conventional side of the Army. From inception to to know, though not as much. Stormin Norman refused to use SF in the initial push into Iraq in 91. He said air superiority was key. Though he was talked into it later, he still resisted using them for deep recon. But that video was bad ass.
  2. WOOOT!!!!! I hope like hell the okay this one, one step closer to being able to eat out while carrying.
  3. Thanks!!!
  4. I don't care what this ^^^^ guy thinks. That gave me goosebumps.
  5. I got a wake up call from Butch down at the Outpost Armory about my interest in working for him. I hurried my skinny ass down there as fast I could, and filled out an app. I sat down with Butch and Chris Barrett and had my interview. I got the job, my dream job, working in a gun shop. I've had a perma-grin on my face since I left today. Now I just have to figure out how not to spend every bleeding penny of my paycheck there.
  6. Where the hell is restaurant carry?
  7. The Army can operate inside US borders as long as it isn't in an offensive posture. Posse Comitatus prevents us from doing so. But a governor can mobilize soldiers to help in situations like this, when there aren't enough local police to do the basic stuff, like direct traffic, respond to 911 calls, and issue citations. What do you think happened in New Orleans after Katrina? Thousands of soldiers were sent to fill in for police, firefighters, and EMS that evacuated and didn't come back. You didn't whine about that now, did you?
  8. Howdy!!! I spent the last two years in WI at Fort McCoy. Nice place but too damn cold.
  9. I'm not upset in the slightest, I was just wondering if anybody had heard anything new about mailing times. He had to wait 2 months for his BG check to go through.

    No .45's

Yeah, we're sicking with the 9mm. The Army has so much invested in it that they don't want to leave it. Though most pistols in service are getting very near to the end of their expected life span. But yes, the mags do suck something fierce. I've dealt with many stoppages due to mags. I just always used my own when we went to the range.
  11. I made the call for my brother, who's at Fort Bragg right now, today. They said that they had issued on 3/10 and should expect it to be here on the 26 or 27th. WTF??? Anybody heard anything new about the mailing times of these things. Mine only took three days from issue to receipt. And my best friend got his within a week just a few weeks ago.
  12. NcStar Mark III 3-9x42 with illuminated reticle and built in laser.
  13. PM sent.
  14. My roommate called at two weeks, was Tuesday last week. They had the thing processed already, so they issued it. He had it on Friday. Quickest I've ever seen the state of TN do anything, lol.
  15. It's the baby brother to the USP .45!!!! Congrats on the pick up! Gotta love an HK.

    My Kahr=crap

I worked on a gun today that blew the extractor, extractor pin, and spring on the 2nd round. PITA to fix, but pretty simple once we found a diagram. Apparently it's a common issue with the CW series pistols. But the warranty and exchange program they have is top notch.
  17. I called at three weeks, had it a week later. Buddy of mine got impatient and called at two, had his a week later.
  18. I came off of active duty in early Feb. Everyone seems to be in a hiring freeze. I can't even seem to get a job on the ambulance service, much less in an actual hospital. My savings are drying up fast, and with no money coming in I might be living in my parents basement soon.
  19. My friend just made the call at two weeks, lol. But surprisingly, the background check was back and they put him in for issuance today.

    Eye protection

I use regular sunglasses when I shoot. And I know lots of guys who just use their glasses.
  21. 30 days? I called at 3 weeks. Had it 3 days later.

    Urban Camoflauge

Reminds me of office warfare back on AD. A poncho, some paper, tape, and a nerf gun. Good times.
  23. Welcome to the world of mailbox buzzards.
  24. I know a guy that bought a prepaid cellphone, and uses it to track his car. He put in another 12 volt socket and keeps the phone plugged in at all times, keeps it stuffed under the center console. And uses a web site where you can tracks cell phones wherever they go as long as they have signal.
