  1. I know a couple people at UTC that carry anyway. Not necessarily the smartest idea though. I'm a big fan of a knife, monkey's fist, and a very bright flashlight. Blind 'em, then hit 'em. And I second the ASP cert, cause it's better than nothing in a gun fight.
  2. They say open carry is legal. Though you will be arrested rather quickly if you do it. I hope the can push the Gov. to sign a carry law, it's about damn time they do.
  3. It was fun....
  4. I tried weapon shield on an M249 SAW once since they are notorious for burning off CLP within 100 rounds. 1,000 rounds later, still there. Never cooked off. Now I use it on all my personal and issue weapons.
  5. Me likes the barrel. And that rear sight is truly genius for a person with those kind of handicaps.
  6. M249s jam at around 500 quite often if you cook all the CLP off. Which can happen with heavy sustained fire. Gotta keep 'em oiled.
  7. Damn.... I was needing it too.
  8. For a good budget gun, a CMMG M4 is hard to beat. I had a friend who let me shoot up all his excess ammo through one. About 3500 rounds, and I beat the crap out of that gun. It ran flawlessly, even with all the Wolf I was throwing through it. The only thing is apparently the warranty is voided if you shoot steel case, mainly because of their MIM extractor. Replace it with a forged extractor and you should never see an issue out of it.
  9. Garmins fail, but a map and a compass rarely do. So I use a 1:50000 topo map and a standard lensatic compass.
  10. You can get both the 5.45 AR and the AK-74 at The Outpost Armory. Good prices on both too.
  11. They only make a light crack, which you can't tell direction by. Or if your good the BG never hears...
  12. That's what aftermarket support is for. But I agree, it is a crazy notion.
  13. As said earlier, it allows for lighter and hotter loads, and single fire without the action cycling. But also works great for suppressors so they don't get so hot.
  14. I've used both extensively. I, hands down, prefer the Aimpoint. 5 year battery life being the main point, second being the fact that it doesn't turn off on it's own after a certain time. And the batteries are easier to replace.
  15. I run the Peltor Tactical Slim line as well. I love them. And the fit under my kevlar, which is a big plus for me.

You couldn't get me off of her if you used a hose.
  17. Why would you use iodoform? It's used mainly to pack abcesses. Not effective at all for GSWs. The superglue is a good idea for small cuts, but for anything bigger than that it's a no-no.
  18. I too smoke, and have zero issue with the smoking ban. I wanna kill myself, that's fine, but why should I subject others to it?
  19. QuikClot just causes far too many problems. Especially since almost no one is trained in the proper procedures. The Army pulled it from the stockage lists about a year ago, now we use HemCon dressings. No burn. Oh and I forgot, an occlusive dressing for chest wounds, to help prevent or maintain a collapsed lung. I prefer the Hyfin chest seal from the guys over at NARescue.com.
  20. Kerlix and 6 inch ACE wraps with the velcro closure. Kerlix can be used as the whole roll for a pressure dressing, or stuffed into wound. Ace wraps are used in pressure dressings, wrapping sprains, or splinting fractures. Get rid of the QuikClot. Too much damage vs. good. Use HemCon dressings if you can get them. A good tourniquet or two. The SOFT-T is a great one. One handed use, and no velcro that becomes ineffective when blood and dirt gets into it. Can also be used to tie down equipment. Nasopharyngeal airway, gotta keep 'em breathing. Roll of 3in paper tape, or duct tape wrapped around a playing card. Trauma shears to expose the wound or injured area. Also handy when you just need a pair of scissors. My general rule of thumb is that everything must serve at least two purposes before I will consider carrying it. With the exception on airway equipment. Weight is speed, and speed is life. US Army Combat Medic and Combat Medic Instructor.
  21. It should show up, it gives all of the current info on location and criminal history.
  22. The TacSol upper paired up with a Gemtech can is the best combo I've shot to date. Very light weight and completely user servicable.
  23. Hell yes, haha. They are a blast to shoot. Ya never get tired of shooting them, not to mention the whole dirt cheap shooting part.
  24. There are no registration laws in TN. None.
