Had my smith bead blast it, then hit it with GunKote. Baked for an hour. That's about it.

Well it took me some time, a bit of money, two tries, and some hair, but I finally got the damn thing refinished. Finish is great, hopefully it'll stand up to the abuse that I intend to put it through. Mandatory porn. And yes, I know the front sight is tan. I couldn't get it off the gun til this afternoon, so tomorrow it will be black again. And the grips should be in tomorrow as well. More pics then.

Ahhhhh the old Ranger Grave. Can be quite comfy if done right, but sometimes makes a 113 ramp look comfy. God bless those over there, hope to see ya'll soon.

Good stuff Chris, loving the new layout. One thing though. You should let me run the REC7 through my own battery of tests to see if it is really "soldier proof." I can break anything, and you know it.

Now I know where all that re-enlistment gun money is going....

An eliptical shouldn't hurt you. They were designed for these kinds of things. Though I highly recommend you talk to your Orthopedic Surgeon to make sure it's okay to do so. And as always start slow, don't just go running at it. Find you're tolerance level and stick with it. And I'm in. Don't really need to lose any weight, just need to burn off this beer gut that I have developed. That and I need to get my lazy ass back in shape. Ran two miles today, at 10 minute miles. I was smoked. Anger towards my inability to do basic things like run is definitely good motivation to get back out and do it some more.

Well I figured it out. Gonna have Tony Bellione strip the gun for me. I bought some KG gun kote in desert tan, gonna go tan with black accents. Also picked up a set of VZ Operator II grips to compliment the new finish. Will post up some pics when I'm done.

That dimple in the slide is not normal. Mine has no such markings.

Not really looking for shiny at the moment. Does nobody on here do Moly?

Having put hands on and shot the work of art that is the REC7 I have to say that price and performance are actually not that equal. It vastly outperforms it's price tag. The piston system is in itself a masterpiece. Once piece design that is completely accessible from the front. Runs extremely cool and clean, even with a suppressor. The ARMS fore end is very nice, helps keep a lot of the heat build up that you see with normal hand guards way down. And it's a tack driver. Very accurate, with irons, out to 300. (That's the farthest target we had.) Very easy to control, and it's backed up by Barrett's outstanding customer service.

They weren't really babysitting in this particular instance as it was an IED that went off. I look at it as two reporters taking up seats that would have otherwise contained Marines. So in the end, they gave their lives protecting Marines. Odd spin on it, I know. But it makes me feel better about losing a brother in arms.

Sent him a PM. Anyone else out there doing this?

Looks like time for a Form 4, and a side folding stock. SBR that bad boy.

Hey guys, I've run into a bit of an issue with my EDC. Carrying constantly has started to wear the finsh off of the slide and allowing a bit of rust to pop up every once in a while. So I'm wondering if anyone here does Moly Resin or Cera-Kote refinishing. And if so, pricing. Would like to get this done ASAP so let me know.

That's a complete violation of the 4th amendment. Illegal search and seizure without probable cause. Time to pull this d-bags ticket.

Dude, the ten gun version is only 20 bucks more. I'd go bigger just in case.

Just started getting heavy out here in Leipers Fork.

Combat Firearms "Report Card" from Iraq
Kegger replied to DUXBUSTER's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Actually Muttling, they are called mad mortarmen within the military. And they do just that, they run around in pickup trucks with a mortar tube, and rounds. Hop out, roughly aim the tube towards the fob, and fire of several rounds then leave. They don't go through the process of setting up the tube, base plate, sights and all the verification eqiupment. So the statement is quite correct, ask anyone who has had to chase those guys down and find nothing. .45's are starting to be re-issued enmasse to to USMC personell. Not just Spec-Op's. The USMC Commandant has pushed and pushed for 1911's to go back to line units, not just MP's and it's happening quite rapidly. And the current body armor they are wearing, without SAPI plates, does weigh in at 6 pounds. With SAPI plates it comes in at 18 pounds. Extremely light compared to what us on the Army side are wearing, coming in at 30 pounds. So most of the info is correct. Just not all of it. -
I just picked one up from SavageSig today. Got to shoot it some, and its a very nice gun to shoot. Havent had any issues other than a weak mag spring. But I stretched it and no problems since.

Once again I hope that I can help out with next years Christmas gift to the community. This is the kind of thread that will bring tears to your eyes because of the hospitality and the kind hearts that drive our brethren.

Do what I did. Go get a job, any job, then start putting your resume out there. That way at least you have some income while looking for a better job.

I'm gonna use this video during our safety briefs from now on. Should make sure all of our soldiers come back from the holidays in one piece.

XBOX 360 all the way. People complain about having to pay to play online, but i see it as a plus. With XBOX Live you have dedicated servers that go through routine maintanence every day. Then you have Playstation servers, which crash constantly, and are generally in poor upkeep.

You would have to replace the barrel as well, but it can be done.
