Yea, it was/is very smooth feeling, I hated to swap it out but in all honesty the G2 double hook I replaced it with isn't half bad.
-
I have an double hook polytec/norinco trigger group in my parts box, swapped it out for a G2 trigger group trying to stay 922r compliant on a conversion I did a few years back. So I am sure that there are a few floating around, I couldn't have been the only one who swapped theirs out for US made ones.

Doesn't surprise me at all, we've been slowly marching towards totalitarianism for decades.

They have to strike while the iron is hot.

As I watched it all I could think was ...."why is he pretending to cry?" Guess I wasn't the only one who questioned/wondered that. I am not outraged by the President faking some emotion while addressing a tragic issue like this but you'd think he could have managed to shed a couple of real tears while giving his little speach instead of just pretending too.

Only the law-abiding abide the law..There simply is no amount of legislation that can prevent a sick person from doing sick stuff. Prayers to the families.

Here we go..Zimmerman's at it again!
o In this situation, after calling the cops, I would have stayed in my truck or home and let the real cops do there job. I have done this several times for stray dogs and strange people. That way the big scary football player never has a reason to attack me.
Zimmerman didn't cower in his truck, so obviously he's at fault for Martin violently attacking him. Because if Zimmerman had stayed in his truck, Martin would not have attacked him & thus would still be alive. That is the crux of the "Zimmerman is guilty" arguement is that correct? -
CZ does make some darn fine bolt action rifles, sorry to hear about your problems with the owner of Franklin Gun shop though, I'll make it a point never to do any business there, as I wouldn't have handled that situation very well, I don't take very kindly to being defrauded and selling a used rifle as "new" is most definately fraud in my book.

Someone on the internet called him a coward so he makes an internet video saying that he isn't a coward? Are too! Am not! Are too! Am not! I know you are but what am I! My dad is bigger than your dad! Is not! Is too! Sorry it felt like I had just gotten time warped back to elementary school for a moment there.

Dietz hurricane lanterns run about $10 a pop and are better quality than your typical "super store" type cheapies, Lehman's .com has tons of cool stuff to check out if you are into survival/preparedness.
-
Oil lanterns are inexpensive, useful & decorative, we use ours all of the time for both indoor & outdoor applications. Granted they are not as bright as propane, white gas or LED lanterns but they are great for recreational/ambiance lighting as well as for emergency lighting.

It was hard at first because you still feel hungry even after eating, but eventually your body gets used to the smaller portion sizes and now I get "full" realitively quickly & on realitively small portion sizes. Like for lunch today I ate a banana & that was all it took to fill me up, I'm good til supper now and will have plenty of energy, took awhile to get there though, the first 6 months I was always hungry, tired & a bit grumpy, but these last 6 months have been a breeze.
-
My resolution for last new year was to loose 100lbs, I was at 290 now I am at 174 so it has been successful, only thing I changed was portion sizes as I didn't need to change what I ate, which is semi-healthy to begin with, only the amount. Not sure if I am going to make another resolution this year or not, but I am quite happy with this last years results.

What solvent are you currently using? For real tuff jobs that CLP or Hoppes #9 won't get clean I will use spray can of Brakleen brake cleaner, you have to get the non-sodium solution though & you also cannot get any of it on plastic/rubber because it will desolve it.
Nah, no need for lipos unless you want to do 50mph in the grass.
Well keep in mind that I am used to running nitro's so anything short of lipo + brushless in electrics seem woefully underpowered to me.
-
Most of my RC's are nitromethane powered so I am not an expert on electric RC's, but if you are wanting an electric that can handle driving through grass and stuff you will probably want to look into LIPO powered electrics, preferably with "brushless" motors in them, they are a bit more expensive but they have a lot more power than standard electric RC's do.

Florida range let's you shoot your friends
RichardR replied to jtluttrell's topic in Training Discussions
Both simmunitions & high-end/professional quality airsoft weapons are very handy force on force training tools. I have used both in force on force training, as well as MILES (multiple intergrated laser engagement system) gear, but these days I usually do my force on force training with high-end airsoft gear, because it is so much easier on the wallet if you do not have the military or a police department picking up the tab for it. -
Oh btw Rob, do you know of anywhere around here locally where we can shoot 600-800 yds or so?
Yeah I think I'll hold on to it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Hey Rob, I've got a 700 tac in .308 myself, damn fine rifles, not sure why you are considering selling/trading yours off but if you ever do decide to get rid of it give me a call, as I wouldn't mind owning another.
I keep seeing all kinda of want adds an post about 10/22's.. Just wanted to know what all the fuss is about. What are all the mods one can do that wos drive a man wild. I have a nice stainless ruger 10/22 walnut stock that u would love to trick out, but am lacking in the current mods. Please Advise an old folk who's behind the Curve!!!!!
Stainless in walnut stock? Is it a deluxe sporter or one of the Walmart exclusives (21" barrel, roll-marked rifle)? Because if it is one of the Walmart exclusives I wouldn't recommend changing anything out on those, they are great out of the box shooters & are worth a bit of a premium if left unmolested.
The box is full of kittens and your going to put some air holes in it with the shotgun for them? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
LOL you just won best post on internet award.

Mossberg's are good, I have several of them, mostly 12 gauges but also including a 20g youth model, which is my youngest daughters, so yea I think that the Mossberg 500 line would be a fine choice for you & your son.
-
I had a Marlin Goose gun (model 55 if I recall correctly) that had a 36" barrel, chambered in 10 gauge that was pretty silly looking too, but it could really reach up there and bring down geese that were well out of the reach of my 28" barreled 12 gauges.
yep. just not all Walmarts though. also, if you dont see them hanging up, ask an associate what they have behind the counter. the store near Seymour where i purchased mine had to put them behind the counter due to thefts I believe....
Cool thanks man, I'll take a closer look at them if I can find one at the local Walmart, I don't use tac-lights anymore but I do know quite a few guys who do.
Good points Sir. I assume you're joking about the cannibalism..imho that's a stretch...unless it's something a person is already into... But, in all seriousness, the veneer on our society is pretty thin already. The JIT or "Just In Time" delivery model practiced by nearly all food stores would allow even moderate panic buying to empty the shelves. Just consider what happens when a snow or freezing rain forecast hits East TN. A disruption in fuel availability can wreck havoc on deliveries as well. The JIT system has negated "ware-rooms" holding several weeks worth of food items to be rotated out to the shelves as we had in the past. Take current events like Sandy, or recent events like Katrina. Without constant electricity, and near constant delivery, coupled with the fact that the vast majority of American homes only 3-5 days worth of food, and doubtfully that much water stored...things can get hinky fast. We lived in SW MS during and immediately after Katrina. It took weeks, several, for regular food and fuel delivery to be restored...we had no power for 6 weeks and no flowing water for 4 of those, and then the water had to be treated. Many, many homes were burglarized, vehicles broken into, gas tanks siphoned...tempers were short...and you could generally only trust those you knew. By day 9 as alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs were running out...things got pretty tough in certain areas. (But, "A armed society is a polite society" and situational awareness is your friend.) But that didn't stop us, and many others from helping within our community. My wife and I are R.N.'s and we set up an impromptu clinic to help locals initially (no 911 to call), exhausted our supplies pretty quickly...but helped as we could. But...away from our dwelling and without revealing our resources. Many other did similar things. imho, the things we can all do to help the most is to be as prepared as we can ourselves (to lessen the drain on limited resources), develop our self sufficiency skills to the best of our abilities, and develop our local support groups, and plan out your security contingencies. Then we can consider helping others, as we choose.
Great post Prag! Agreed on all parts except the canabalism thing, humans are by nature predatory animals & very dangerous ones at that, if there is no other food source that they can find or steal, I am guessing that a decent percentage of folks will eat what is availible to them. As sick as it sounds, starving to death isn't something that some folks will willingly do, or allow their children to do ... then again maybe I've just been playing to much Fallout on the PS3!
