  1. And it will keep happening if We the People refuse to demand that our elected officials & our military uphold their oaths. As you point out, We the People have already made multiple "reasonable" concessions on our 2nd Amendment protections in the interest of public safety, so now the fear mongers & communist propagandist's are demanding "unreasonable" concessions, based not on a weapon's destructiveness or ease of aquiring, such as our previous concessions which were "reasonable" to most folks on explosive devices, full-auto capabilities, back ground checks, permits for carry, etc). It should be obvious to all free-thinking American that the real purpose behind these proposed "unreasonable" restrictions are not in the interest of public safety but instead are for the sole purpose of disarming the citizenry of any & all means of resisting the totalitarian decrees of a one-party system of government. We are currently on that path, the Democrats of today are not our Fathers Democrats, the hardcore leftist ideology is now the mainstream, they have consolidated enough power in government & in the population at large to be a genuine threat, not only to our liberties, but historically to the very lives of any & all who would dare to desent. No my friend, walking on egg-shells will not protect this once great nation from becoming a one-party State, I am afraid that demanding that our elected officials & God forbid our military to uphold their oaths is our nations only salvation at this point. And if those who took the oath refuse or fail to protect & defend the Constitution from ALL it's enemies, ALL of our children's future will surely be that of servitude to the State.
  2. You are still operating under the assumption that "shall not be infringed" can in fact be infringed any time that there are enough votes in Congress to do so. We the People should instead demand that every elected official who swore an oath to uphold & defend the Constitution against all enemies, foriegn & domestic to do so. If our elected officials refuse or fail in that task, than We the People should demand that our military uphold their oaths.... Make no mistake about it, we will loose this country to communism if the above does not happen.
  3. Yup, lighter, lower recoil & w/adjustable stocks make for a better "fit" on smaller framed shooters. Every woman that I have taken to the range over the years have unanimously prefered shooting AR's over any other "centerfire" long-gun for exactly those 3 reasons.
  4. This is what happens when people who have absolutely no first hand experience with something, proclaim to be an expert on it, and then flat-out lie that "other experts who do have first hand experience" agree with them.
  5. What about the folks trying to find out if the firearm they are *thinking* about buying, that just want to make sure that a firearm isn't stolen prior to buying it? Seems to me that policy only hurts law-abiding folks who are trying to make sure everything is legit prior to engaging in a person to person transaction.
  6. That is only because We the People have been fooled into believing that "shall not be infringed" can be indeed be infringed if there are enough votes in Congress to do so. We the People need not fear of the fear-mongers, it is the fear-mongers who need to fear We the People.
  7. Walking on egg-shells is not a winning strategy.
  8. I also have one of the older style Eton Red Cross models, it features AM, FM, VHF, UHF bands + NOAA bands, it runs off the rechargeable crank battery pack or you can flip the switch & use the AA's, it has small LED lights that are handy for interior lighting inside a tent, they can also be set to "flash" for emegency signaling purposes, like most other radios of this type it can also recharge cellphones & other devices via the adaptor. The durability of the Eton has been outstanding, it has been used and abused regularly ever since I first bought almost 10 years ago, it always goes with me hiking, camping, fishing, as well as gets used in my workshop, etc, the antenna is broken but it still picks up a great signal thanks to the dual tuning dials & the battery hatch has duct-tape on it to keep it closed, not because it is busted but because I want to make absolutely certain the hatch stays closed & the batteries & crank pack stays put no matter how much it gets dropped or banged around. Anyway I think these types of radio's are great investments to keep informed on the weather, news, etc during any sort of wilderness adventure, as well as for any potential shtf emergency. If I ever need to replace the one I own, it would probably be one of the models with the FRS/GMRS two-way radio built into it, for use as a base/camp radio to compliment our more mobile two-way handsets.
  9. Thanks guys, it sounds as if it's on my end then, so I'll research it & see if I can get it corrected. It is "thread specific" meaning that it doesn't occur randomly, it happens when I try to open certain threads & only those certain threads, it used to be fairly rare, but the frequency has increased to the point where I thought I should mention & try to correct it. I'll keep you guys updated with what if any solution I find, just incase if anyone else has this problem in the future.
  10. I agree with you that the petitions are pointless, no matter how many signatures they garner they will not result in any action or serious response from this Administration if the Administration disagrees with the petition's premise, they are however semi-entertaining, but if you want to ban discussion of White House petitions who am I to tell you otherwise...
  11. I am receiving the "too many server redirects" error message more frequently lately, it used to only happen in about 1 thread out of 100, the last couple of weeks it has jumped to around 1 out of every 20 threads. I don't know if it is something on my end or on your guy's end, but it doesn't happen on any of the other forums that I am a member of so I thought I would give you guys a "heads up" just incase other folks are having the same problem. Btw, I always access the forums from an Android phone, using the forum's mobile format (no 3rd party software involved) so hothat might help figure out what might be the cause.
  12. "Modern democrat's" (aka American communists) aren't going to be satisfied until all privately owned firearms in this nation are outlawed & confiscated. A main portion of their modus operandi has been to try to make the public afraid at the very sight/thought of a firearm in the hands of anyone & everyone who is not wearing a uniform, so how exactly would you propose to counter the public's unfounded fears other than a "show & tell" effort by regular, every day, law-abiding gun owners? One guy doing it is silly & of course it is easy for "them" to make him look like a lone psycho, but I believe that it would be extremely effective, prehaps even a game changer if a million or so of us all started doing it ...
  13. I traded an old Marlin 336 (.30-30) + $800 in cash for a fully restored 1972 Super Beetle back in early 90's, I loved that car it was an absolute blast to drive, but it wasn't practical after I got out of college & started needing a more "family oriented" vehicle.
  14. Unfortunately this could be "the new normal" it is hard to say at this point.
  15. The hand-wringers & bed-wetters have already won if we refuse to publically excersize our 2nd Amendment out of fear of their fear. I say enough is enough with the "we must walk on egg-shells" mentality, it hasn't done us any good so far, so maybe it is time to try something different.
  16. Thanks for the heads up David, it looks like I will need to make some space in my safe, any idea on ETA of when these will hit shelves? Or what MSRP is going to be?
  17. How much eye relief do you have to work with? It looks like it's set back awful far to me, but then again it is a .22LR so it's not like you have to worry so much about wacking yourself in the eye when it recoils.
  18. Arrggg! I just bought a couple of new rolls, this would have come in handy, thanks for the heads up I might just go ahead and buy a couple more.
  19. I'd also take the 5903, without hesitation. Looking forward to reading your range report!
  20. Yup Nikon Buckmaster's are damn fine scopes for the money, I don't have any experience with Vortex scopes but from looking over it's spec's the only thing I could see as "potentially problematic" (for me at least) is it's limited FOV, but that is more of a personal preference thing.
  21. Eh? I actually like the Bushnell Banner line of scopes, IMHO they are pretty decent optics for how inexpensive they are, especially the Dusk to Dawn series. For 200-300yds you shouldn't need to swap it out, unless of course you just want something different.
  22. Since when did street thugs & gang bangers start filing returns?
  23. So the NRA released a "non-violent" target shooting type video game, I fail to see what the hubbub is about. It's a safer, more kid-friendly alternative to the thousands of graphicly violent shootem up video games, where virtual people are the targets and blood & gore splatters all over the screen.
  24. Glad you & your family are ok, have you found out anything more about the guy? Does he live in the area? have a criminal record? Etc?
  25. Perhaps my previous post was to long, so I will make this one much more brief. "Operation Northwoods" it is worth the time to look into it.
