It's authoritarianism/totalitarianism and unfortunately it's becoming quite popular all over "the land of the free, home of the brave" what the @#$% happened to America? Why hasn't that clown been tar'd & feathered?
-
I am sort of surprised by the reactions here, the guy was a law-abiding citizen, in possession of a legal firearm, at a public rally to express concerns over the continual infringement of "shall not be infringed" & he was arrested, his lawfully owned firearm confiscated by authorities & pro 2nd folks are calling him stupid, retarded, etc? Remember, it doesn't just say "the right to keep" it also specifically states we have the right to "bear arms". It's no mystery why we are loosing the 2nd, the simple fact that we cower from any confrontation when it is infringed upon, blindly obeying any legislation that is passed & mocking anyone who would dare excersize their Constitutional rights as our founding Fathers intended.

I use a balloon to call'em in, just blow some air into it, pull/stretch the mouth of the balloon tight & slowly release the air, works like a charm, it is easy to use, with a bit of practice you can really make it sound like a rabbit in distress. If you have a dog, you can practice your balloon calls on them, when they start acting all kinds of crazy, frantically searching the house, you're doing it correctly.

That looks like a pretty sweet setup man, I might have to do that on one of my Mossberg 500's!

I not sure which rail you are currently using but I personally like to use Millett 20moa picatinny rails on my Rem 700 .308's, they are milled out plenty so no problems w/clearence. Do you want a one-piece rail or are you wanting to go two piece reciever mounts? If so I personally like Millett "angle-loc" mounts & rings.

12 gauge pump, Mossberg 590A1 preferably, no explaination should be necessary.

Savage bleh, .22-250 is sweet though, very flat trajectory.

.204 is a great little round but it is also kind of a "one trick pony" where as .223 has a much wider range of bullet weights to choose from, even moreso since you don't reload and are limited to just factory ammunition in either .204 or .223 Availibility of 5.56/.223 is a bit shy right now, but it is literally made by every ammunition company on the planet, so once all of this crazy buying frenzy stuff ends you should have no problems finding plenty of it to feed your rifle. Anyway man keep us posted on what route you decide to go, I'm looking forward to reading your range report.

Description says that it is a mix of ball & blank cartridge casings. Unfortunately the blank casings couldn't be reloaded as 5.56 but they could be cut down at the shoulder to be used for .300 black or resold/recycled as scrap. I don't need any more 5.56 brass but I certainly wouldn't mind going in on a bulk .308 brass deal like this.

Canted sights are generally the main issue, fortunately they are extremely easy to fix, you just lay the rifle on its side & wack the sight into position until it straightens out with a weighted plastic, rubber or rawhide mallet. Next common problem is the top of the bolt rubbing up against the underside of the dust cover, this will usually clear up just with a bit of use, however in extreme cases removing a bit of metal may be necessary.

Congratulations man! You'll be amazed at how quickly they grow up, try to enjoy all of the little things as well as the big milestones.

My dream 10/22 (target version) just about complete.

Looks good, looking forward to reading your range report! -
CZ's are fantastic rifles, well worth the little bit of extra fundage IMHO. I have only owned one Savage, it was an FP10 LE chambered in .308, didn't really care for it so I traded it for a Rem 700 which I liked better. Why .204? (Just curious)

Knife Rights Lobby and New Knife Legislation introduced in TN.
RichardR replied to TNRat's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I never understood the rational (if any) behind knife laws like these. In reality, an auto-opening knife is no more dangerous than any other knife, nor is a double-edged blade, vs a single edge or a blade with XY or Z length. Again it is all about the person who is wielding the tool in question & whether or not they intend to do unlawful acts with it, no amount of legislation will prevent an evil person from doing evil things, all legislation like this does is create inconviences for law-abiding folks & infringes upon our individual liberties. Sorry I am sort of rambling here but I fully support the removal of these silly restrictions so that I don't have to worry about some over-zelious rookie giving me a ticket or arresting me for having an "illegal-length" fillet knife in my tackle box. -
I am guessing that "Uzi specific" pouches would probably work a tad bit better than Mp5 or generic SMG pouches, since Mp5 magazines are slightly curved & would require a bit wider pocket than what would be needed for Glock magazines.

A barrel made from 4150, chrome-lined & has an HBAR or bull profile will generally last a tad longer than a barrel made from 4140, chrome-moly & has either m4 or govt profile.

Agreed, I am sure that the communist's revised that list of goals, probably multiple times since 1963, however as a "snap shot" of their goals from that period in our history, from today's perspective it appears as if the communists have been very successful in their ultimate goal of fundamentally transforming the United States of America, into the United Socialist States of America *wink-wink*.

Yup the photo that the news report showed/said was the cause of all hubbub was exactly as Shortround described, a guy sitting in a chair, baby in one hand/lap, with a BB gun in his other hand, the BB gun was pointed away from the baby & at the floor. I saw absolutely nothing "dangerous" in that photo at all, in fact I hope the guy sues the PD for wrongful arrest.

I also keep several extra CR123 batteries for my Eotech XPS2 in my Magpul grip, very handy feature indeed. And yea, everyone should have BUIS on their rifles in addition to optics just in case.

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963 Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 . Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America. At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen: [From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen] 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. 2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. 5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. 6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination. 7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N. 8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N. 9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress. 10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N. 11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.) 12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. 13. Do away with all loyalty oaths. 14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office. 15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. 16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights. 17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. 18. Gain control of all student newspapers. 19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions. 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." 24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. 33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus. 34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities. 35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. 36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. 37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business. 38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. 39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals. 40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. 41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. 42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems. 43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government. 44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. 45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.
