I agree it is easy to get poisoned if you don't know what to look for, some edible species are pretty hard to ID because they have poisonous cousins that look very similar. Morels are pretty easy to ID though, which is why I am surprised.
-
Android on this end too, I just factory reset my phone & the photos still aren't showing up, so it's got to be on the server side.
-
Why is it illegal to sell morels in TN? What about gingseng? Or truffles? &/or other gatherable wild "non-narcotic" otherwise legal foods & herbs?
-
Just a heads up, for whatever reason photos are not showing up on TGO for me anymore, not sure if it's on my end or you guy's end.

You mean China and Russia aren't friendly?

Yea, we are being undone from within, quite successfully actually, we've lost the ideological battle, a large portion of the American people have both knowingly & unknowingly embraced Marxism. McCarthy was correct. -
DHS supplier sells targets of american gun owners
RichardR replied to tnsyty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well unfortunately marxist ideology isn't an imaginary conspiracy theory & (at least when I was in school) our history books were filled with government sponsered genocides targeting "undesireable" members of their own citizenry. It happens. We must be extremely vigilant & we must do everything that we can to prevent it from happening (again) here in these United States of America. -

So your saying that DHS isn't buying any "no hesitation" targets & that no DHS agents or officers are going through "no hesitation" training? Or are you claiming that even if it's true that it doesn't matter because it was reported by "infowars"? The simple fact that there are ANY LEA's out there using these "no hesitation" targets & training is what is troubling. It is just more troubling when coupled with the fact that the communists have gained so much power in this country, historically when that happens they tend to round up & exterminate tens of millions of their fellow soviet, chinese, korean, vietnamese, laotian, etc countrymen for simply disagreeing with their communist political philosophy. Nope, nothing to see here, move along comrade, err I mean citizen ... -
I am not familiar with the Surv Tac 7 however one of my favorite "hard-use" knives is a Scrapyard Scrapper 5, it is one of the combat grade w/an SR101 blade, Scrapyard knives which along with Swamp Rat knives are both sister company's of Busse knives. I first fell in love with the Scrapper 5's Neoprene-C "mudder" handle, it has a ton of grip to it, even if it is wet or bloody from butchering game, the knife stays put & doesn't slide around in my hand at all. As a bonus the "mudder" handle material is soft & the contour of the handle is comfortable enough to use all day without blistering, huge selling points IMHO because how a knife fits my hand is a much higher priority to me than what sort of steel alloy the blade is made from. Speaking of the blade, as the 5 in it's name suggests is 5" in length, it is made out of powder coated SR101 steel which can be sharpened skeeery sharp, has fantastic edge retention & is extremely tough, not only can it easily withstand batoning, prying, can-opening, etc, the skeeery sharp edge doesn't roll or micro-chip without being really abused (think hammer + cinderblock sort of abuse), all of this PLUS it is still relatively easy to resharpen. However there are two down sides of SR101 those are that A.) it is moderately expensive & B.) that it will stain/rust if it is not cleaned & either lightly oiled or ran across some wax after you are finished using it. Anyway I do appologize I know that you were asking about the Surv Tac 7 but the more & more that I use my Scrapyard, the more & more I like it, just today I was using it to cut through the exhaust hangerstraps on my truck because the bolts were rusted/frozen, & that knife it went through them like butter, I've had a big grin on my face all afternoon because of that LOL.

The Resistance is beginning...

Unfortunately the courts have become just as corrupt as the politicians who pack the benches with like-minded ideological zealots. And sadly their ideology has surplanted the Constitution as the supreme law of the land in many of our nations court rooms. -

RichardR replied to tnsyty's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
IMHO the whole "no-hesitation" training policy is an extremely flawed concept, not every civilian with a gun in their hand is a threat that needs to be "shot on sight, without hesitation". George Washington & Thomas Jefferson would be appalled, as should every other free-thinking American, if a pregnant woman has a gun in her hand she probably has a damn good reason for it & she's probably scared out of her mind, how about identifying yourself as a police officer & simply asking her what's going on instead of gunning her down "without hesitation" as if she was some sort of Jihadi on a battlefield. -

Yup, welcome to Amerika 2.0 -
Our electorial system is so corrupt that I doubt we will ever have fair & free elections in this country ever again, not without soaking the ground red first anyway, too many people in power protecting the corruption, why shouldn't they? Since they benifit from it...

At the moment I just have a Mohawk 18" adventure/touring canoe & a Fischer 1432 flatbottom w/4hp Tohatsu, 30lb Minnkotta w/Lowrance DSi gps/sonar tacked on it. Both the boat & canoe are simple, effective, reliable & inexpensive, but granted sometimes it takes awhile to get to where I want to fish at, but I enjoy the journey almost as much as the destination. I wouldn't mind adding a larger, faster, more comfortable boat to my fleet, but I don't think I'd want the added hassle or expense of the upkeep on it.

“In a way, the world-view of the party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violation, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening. By lack of understanding they remained sane. They simply swallowed everything and what they swallowed did them no harm because it left no residue behind, just as a grain of corn will pass undigested through the body of a bird.†― George Orwell, Animal Farm

Co-worker says it's illegal to have more than 10,000$ on your person?
RichardR replied to timcar86's topic in General Chat
It's not illegal per say, but the authorities can & do confiscate large amounts of cash during traffic stops quite regularly, to which then the owner of the confiscated cash must "proove" either through a bank statement, etc that they had earned/aquired that money legitimately before it is returned. So I have always made sure to keep the withdraw slip from my bank with the money, when I carry large amounts of cash on me, just in case. -

I have owned a MKI No.4 1942 for about 25 years or so, heck of a fine rifle, even for surplus, surprisingly accurate even with using just peep sights, which go up to 1300 meters btw. The only other surplus rifles that I like better are the Swiss Ruben-Schmidt straight pulls.

Yup, I have them stashed in FAK's, tool pouches, glove boxes, etc, a lot of usable light for very little money, they are pretty durable too, I haven't been able to break one yet & more than one has taken a trip through the washer & dryer LOL.

I have quite a few of these little Rayovac's, they are great little lights for the money http://www.rayovac.com/Products/Lights/General-Purpose-battery-operated-led-lights/Mini-Flashlight-LED-Keychain.aspx

.303 (7.7x56mmR) is often overlooked here in the states, but it is very popular around the rest of the world, also very similar ballistically to the .308
-
I watched the videos & caught myself rolling my eyes several times at the sillyness of it all. No practical applications for that device that I could see, in any configuration, in any imaginable scenario.
-
.30-06 is long action, .308 is short action, personally I prefer short action bolts over long action ones in general, and the smoother Remington or Weatherby actions over the rougher Ruger or Savage ones. The above is also true with regards to the various factory trigger offerings, Remington/Weatherby I leave alone, where as Ruger/Savage after-market triggers are usually slapped in them. As far as cartridges the .308 & .30-06 are very similar ballistically, for ease of shooting, accuracy & cost of reloading I prefer the .308, that said the .30-06 can be loaded a bit heavier than the .308 & thus would be better suited for taking very large game such as elk, moose or brown bears.

Being from Indiana I find it to be strange that I cannot carry a loaded rifle or shotgun here in TN, it is very common for folks in IN to have "truck/trunk guns" w/or without a LTCH. And as far as I am aware (and I lived in Indiana 40 someodd years) there hasn't been any public safety concerns arrising from that practice, it's not like folks misuse them any more than anywhere else that prohibits firearm carry or even firearm ownership entirely.
