  1. Hey Joe, you wouldn't happen to know what velocity were those decibel levels were recorded at would you? I'd be super-shocked, completely-surprised & utterly-astonished if those decibel levels were taken at subsonic speeds. But iffin in fact those are subsonic decibel level's, well than I'd be happy to buy ya a beer or two for setting me straight.
  2. I take a multi-layered approach. 1st layer are my small portable FA kits, that are kept in vehicles, attached to backpacks, etc contain the basic essentials + additional things like mole-skin & GSW trauma stuff like quick-clot & tourniquets. 2nd layer is an industrial sized FA station mounted over my kitchen sink. 3rd is a large "trauma bag" with everything needed to treat severe wounds, stop heavy bleeding, etc 4th layer is a mini-clinic of sorts, contained in a set of cabinets taller than I am with basically anything & everything needed for almost any medical emergency imaginable, well except for prescription medications that is, I have to settle for over the counter substitutes, but I keep it very stocked up on those.
  3. I've been shooting airguns for almost 40 years. If your Falcon makes that much noise when it is firing pellets at subsonic velocities then there is probably something wrong with it or who ever designed it did a crappy job. I've never owned, seen, or even heard of an airgun that I (or anyone else) needed to wear ear protection to shoot pellets at subsonic velocities. Examples to follow: An Arrow T50 heavy duty stapler into a piece of wood. 97 decibels A Swingline light duty stapler into a piece of wood 93 decibels A battery powered 1/2" drill 71 decibels Opening a full soda can 85 decibels The sound of a doorbell 71 decibels Airguns: R7/HW30S (.177) 88 decibels RWS 34 (.22) 90 decibels Kodiak/Patriot (.25) 91 decibels See where I'm going with this? You might want to go have your Falcon checked out & serviced or something.
  4. An estimated 85 to 100 million people were rounded up by their own governments & "disposed of" in the 20th Century, the vast majority of those killed by their own governments were living under communist regimes. Genocide isn't tin-foil hat stuff, it actually happens more than most folks realize, make no mistake about it ... it most certainly can happen here, just as it has happened time after time, in country after country, in fact if history is any sort of indicator, genocide is almost guaranteed to happen when communists seize power. I'm not "fear-mongering" I'm just stating the facts, communists don't play well with others, once they seize enough power absolutely no dissenting opinions are allowed, let alone any sort of actual opposition, if you dissent a little in opinion you are re-educated, if you dare to physically resist you are executed. This is their modus operandi & we should keep a watchful eye on those who keep such a watchful eye on us.
  5. Ummm the blood? What do you want Dave? Did you want his brains coming out of his ears before he dared defend himself? Jeesh man at this point I'm guessing you voted for Obama.
  6. I wonder if that's what every other citizen of every other communist country thought just prior to it happening to them.
  7. .177's only sound like a .22LR if the pellet is going fast enough to be supersonic, thus producing the sonic "crack" otherwise they are not very loud at all.
  8. From Crosman's website: How quiet is the Rogue? Depending on the settings of the EPiC panel, noise levels average 88dB. Here are some #'s for comparison: Table 1. 9. There is always hope that the spirit of liberty will be rekindled in the hearts of the American people, but I'm not sure that enough of those hearts may be willing to do what may ultimately be required to once again restore the Constitution & our Bill of Rights as our nation's highest set of laws, that shall not be purposely misinterpreted or ignored, circumvented or subverted, but instead respected, loyally followed, abided & most of all once again be defended by all of those who swear an oath to do exactly that. The alternative is Soviet style totalitarianism, which is the current path that our nation is undeniably marching down ...
  10. I'm guessing since they are subsonic & PCP the noise level wouldn't be too bad, probably soft enough not to have to worry about ear protection anyway.
  11. I've always enjoyed air-rifles, in fact we are going out this afternoon to shoot our Gamo's (.177, 7.4gr @ 1000fps) & some of our air-soft stuff out back. I'd really like to try one of these 9mm/.357 big-bore airguns, but as much as I enjoy airguns in general I've been hesitant to get into PCP airguns, seems like it would get expensive fairly quick. I'd have to have a high pressure air compressor capable of refilling scuba tanks, that I'd also have to buy, along with airfilters, moisture traps, guages, lines, etc. I don't think I'd be satisfied with just a handpump, simply because of the effort & the time required to refill the air resevior on the gun.
  12. Meh, the main factor in formating my opinion that it was "self-defense on Zimmerman's part" was the fact that Trayvon was sitting on top of Zimmerman, pinning Zimmerman down while he was repeatingly bashing Zimmerman's head against the cement sidewalk when Zimmerman discharged his weapon.
  13. Agreed & if we had, we wouldn't be threatening mass violence across the country if we didn't get the verdict we wanted either.
  14. All I can hope for at this point is that Zimmerman get's a fair & impartial trial, if he does than he will probably walk out of the court room as a free man. After which I hope that some of my *cough* fellow Americans *cough* can refrain from attacking innocent people based on the color of their skin in some sort of twisted sense of retaliation. I am very sad to say but the looting of stores & the burning of property has been pretty much gauranteed by the folks who have declared their intent to do so if they do not get a guilty verdict, but I really hope no-one else is injured or killed because of an out-of-control teen thug foolishly & brutally attacked an armed family man.
  15. Very nice man, fresh bacon & seafood mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

If the barrel is stamped 5.56 1/9 then yes you are fine shooting both 5.56 & .223 out of it. I'm not clear on exactly what you are asking about little/large bits though? So I'm guessing if you provide a bit more detail on exactly what it is you have a question about you'd probably get better feedback from your fellow TGO'ers.
  17. Agreed Fourteentwo, they are some of the sexiest looking pistols ever made IMHO, only other that tops the sexy list is a gussied up P08 (Luger).
  18. Ha! I had forgotten all about (or purposely repressed the memory of) those! Yea man talk about a good idea, I think I had to pry every single one of those out of the chambers after firing, except for when fired from one single shot break-open barreled shotgun that I had, can't remember the brand now but the extractor on it was huge, like crescent-moon huge & it'd pop them out just like any other brass rimmed hull, probably why they quit making them.
  19. Meh, there was no "injustice" at least not until Zimmerman was branded as a racist & forcably railroaded in both the media & the criminal justice system.
  20. If your just looking for a cheap chest magazine pouch rig, take a look at the surplus Chicom AK mag rigs. I picked up a 5 mag chest pouch about 25 years ago at a gunshow for $10 & it has held up increadibly well, still use it when I don't want or need my Weesatch. Granted they are made out of canvas & not nylon, so they will eventually dry rot if you let them, but mine has survived a number of pretty hardcore training sessions over the years, it is a bit slower due to the wooden button fasteners, but once you get the hang of opening them quickly with one hand it's not that big of an issue.
  21. I love them, well all except the safety, great little guns otherwise IMHO.
  22. Yea the 2nd hand market can be iffy at times, some folks pass problems along, hoping to rid themselves of something that they #$%^ up themselves. Thankfully I've never had someone try to take advantage of me, but some of my family & friends have been suckered, I can usually fix it for them depending on what the problem is, I even managed to get a Jamming Jenny to run like a swiss watch for my cousin, but I had to completely reprofile & mirror polish the feed ramp to do it.
  23. Good bit of information to know, I haven't bothered to hunt yotes in years unless it has been as a favor for a friend who's livestock was being hassled. IN used to put bounties on yotes when they got to be over-populated and problematic, which made it worthwhile, we could also call them in & take them at night, with a spot-light & over-bait, which helped. Can't eat them & their fur is usually full of fleas, ticks & mange, so the bounties was the only thing that made your time hunting them worth the while, unless of course they are causing problems with your pets &/or livestock. There is a good sized pack of yotes & coydogs across the other side of 19 from here, they are still technically inside the towns limits though so I couldn't thin them out myself even if I wanted to. But if I were to do so I'd probably use a .223 40gr V-max.
  24. And ... I don't recommend using buckshot for taking yotes, it's hard enough to call them in close enough to take them with a rifle round, let alone call them in close enough to be able to effectively take them using buckshot. I really don't understand some of reasoning behind some of the regulations here in TN, but I'd imagine it had something to do with folks slanking el'cheapo non-plated, non-buffered, flat/felt-wad buckshot into their shotgun (that they didn't bother to pattern properly) & then taking pot-shots at stuff outside of it's effective range, wounding/injuring animals in the process.
