Exigent cirmcumstances have never been applied on an entire city before, let alone just random houses, at least not since 1776. Our Constitutional protections are not null & void just because a bad person does some (granted very) bad things somewhere in the general area. And no I didn't see the officers "asking permission" for anything, I saw them knock on homeowners doors, when it was answered, immediately reach in & snatch the homeowners with one hand, stick their sidearm in the homeowners faces and then jerk the homeowners outside, ordering them to then go to other awaiting officers to be individually searched while other officers searched inside of their homes. What would I like to see happen to those officers? I'd like them to start asking people if "they'd like fries with that?" Because they certainly should not be law enforcement officers, at least not here in the United States of America.

So its safe to assume you approve?

I need a Lab or Golden Retriever Puppy around Chattanooga

Awesome, post some pics when you get the chance! I'm kind of a softy when it comes to poochies! I'd have a big'ole pack of them iffin I could. -
Meh, discussion/arguement/debate = semantics again. Normally I don't mind chasing semi-relevant tangencies, I'm just limited on my free time today & I apologize if I am coming off sounding curt. I do not recall reading a response addressing the actual issue regarding the "militarization" of our domestic law enforcement agencies ... or the reason's why our federal agencies are being "armed to the teeth" under this administration. Only assertions & reassurances that our LEA/LEO's (or military) would never comply with or obey unConstitutional orders, however I believe the recent events in Boston clearly show that to be a misguided belief. Or did we all just imagine that we watched a video of armed law enforcement officers locking down the entire city of Boston & going door to door forcefully removing homeowners at gunpoint & unlawfully searching hundred(s) of homes w/out a warrant & w/out consent? Is it "looney" to believe that actually happened? Or "tin-foil-hattery" to think that it could happen again? What's to stop it? Nothing, not the Constitution, not the military, not the other LEO's stopped it from happening in Boston. Who or what will prevent it from happening again?

So which kind of pup did he get? -
Meh, I'm not really interested in arguing semantics. And no I'm not "upset" at all, I am however a bit bewildered by some of the responses, seems like everyone wants to argue/debate details & definitions instead of addressing the actual problems. Communism, socialism, marxism, totalitarianism, authoratarianism, Obamaism, pick your prefered poison, it all has the same end result.

Proven wrong? You might want to tell that to the members of the House of Representatives because they just voted to prevent the DHS from making any more billion+ ammunition purchases without first getting the "ok" from Congress. Oh and my background is not pertinent to the discussion, I'm not even sure why Dave asked about it in the first place, except maybe to try to "one up" my resume' or some such nonsense.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
RichardR replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Meh I can't fault Dave, I am sure he has his reasons for supporting Trayvon & while I disagree with almost every single thing he had to say about the incident I'd be honored to share a meal or a couple of beers with him anytime (especially if he's buying). We can all disagree, even vehemently, but we should all try not to be disrespectful to each other. -
Well Robert I'd say that the Tea Party movement has definately had an effect, at least enough of one that the leftist at the IRS were willing to break various laws & regulations in order to target & harrass various chapters of it. Granted the movement is still somewhat small, but hopefully it will continue to grow, the more people we can "wake up" the more change we will be able to effect. It's really our best shot at returning our government back to our founding principles ...

The only rules I have is that everyone wears their seatbelts & that nothing illegal is ever allowed in my truck ... or in my home ... or even around me at all period. Other than that you can feel free to put your feet up, fidget with the radio, adjust the air conditioning or heater, play airplane with your hand out of your window, I just don't care so long as it doesn't distract me from paying attention to my driving.

I've a Corona (made in Columbia) & a Imacasa (made in El Salvador). The Corona is the better of the two, better steel, better handle, I like the smaller blade & shape of the Imacasa though, it works better in tight spaces where getting a good swing with the much larger Corona is difficult, so the combo of the two of them seems to work pretty well together.

Brilliant piece of foriegn policy, we borrow/print money, to buy weapons we can't own ourselves, to give to foriegn people who hate us & would happily kill us with the weapons we gave them, that we can't even own ourselves & had to borrow/print the money to buy in the first place! Hahhahhaa that is absolutely insane.

The coalition already exists, the Tea-Party has actively working to reverse the damage that has been done to our economy & restore our Constitution back to it's former importance as our nation's highest set of laws. This of course "threatens" the current administration because it is exactly the opposite of the left's agenda, which is to dismantle the Constitution & funnel all commerce through a centralized government, who can and do dole out the dough to their (teet-suckling) supporters, while punishing private sector business through excessive taxes & regulations. It is the same old bourgeouis vs the proletariat scheme that they've been trying over & over again with failure upon failure as the ultimate result, they do not seem to be quick learners, but they seem damned & determined to try it here whether we want it or not. Well some of us anyway, the low-information voter just hears "free stuff!" and they don't really care about the future ramifications.

So you are asserting folks just imagined that the DHS placed an order for 1.6+ billion rounds of ammunition &/or 2,700 MRAP vehicles? &/or that there is no such thing as "communists" &/or "conspiracies" and that the NSA hasn't been busy spying on the American people? Or that the IRS hasn't been actively targeting the President's political opponets or that the Justice Department hasn't turned a blind eye to all of the massive electorial fraud which helped put the current POTUS in power?, or that the people of Boston weren't forcefully removed from their homes at gun-point by the authorities, detained, searched, their homes searched all without a warrant? PC? or even RS? in violation of not only their Constitutional protections but as well as everything this country once stood for? Maybe I don't understand your arguement, but I do know that an osterich sticking it's head into a hole in the ground doesn't protect it from being eaten by a predator. In fact it makes it a whole lot easier for the predator to do so. As far as the officer who made the post, I don't know him personally, but his assumptions are not at all unreasonable or "looney" as you call the, not considering what we already know to be a very long list of actual/factual series of events that he apparently based them on.

The first step Robert is acknowledging the problem, the second step is building a coalition to help solve it. Right now our nation is blindly goose-stepping it's way towards an ever-increasing government, both in size as well as in it's intrusiveness into our daily lives. This is the definition of totalitarianism, the future of our nation is looking to be one in which eventually, everything not prohibited will be compulsary. Our educucation system is no longer educating our children, teaching them problem solving or how to think for themselves, it is instead indoctrunating them to think & believe a certain way,

NY Times: The administration has now lost all credibility.
RichardR replied to Garufa's topic in General Chat
You admit it's happening, but choose to ignore it. Interesting, but this does seem to be the new "American Way" of dealing with political corruption & out-right media manipulation. -
We have similar backgrounds & I am also well traveled. Only the foolish or deluded would deny the growing similarities between America 2.0 & the former Soviet Union. You yourself just said: "I think the man (obama) is intentionally doing everything he can to destroy the country". Well considering he promised to "fundamentally transform" the nation, I'd say he's just making good on his promise, the real question is transform it into what though? A communist nation-state? based on his track record that'd be a solid bet, what happens to dissidents in a communist nation? Are dissenting opinions welcomed into the public discourse? Are they allowed to participate in the political process? Or are they repressed? what are they repressed with? A massive domestic police force? & what has the DHS become? If pointing out the obvious is considered "looney" ... and ignoring or mocking the obvious is "normal" what does that tell you about the current mindset of the American people?

NY Times: The administration has now lost all credibility.
RichardR replied to Garufa's topic in General Chat
Ideological corruption is a funny thing, most folks don't even realize that their impartiality has been effected, since they view events through their own internal filter, which of course is the same filter as most of the NYT readers. Conservatives are also guilty of this, it's just human nature ... the problem becomes when "news reporting" is done in such a way to illicit certain reactions or tamp them down or sway folks one way or another, which is what has been happening for decades now. News reports stopped being news reports & have literally become ideological/political propaganda outlets, very dangerous stuff IMHO. -
I always carry diaper wipes in my pack because last time I used leaves ... nah I got nutten.

Unfortunately this isn't a "make believe boogieman" that we are talking about here & the mocking of someone is a tactic taken right out of Cloward-Piven's handbook. But I realize that it's difficult to have a reasonable conversation about the reasons why our intel agencies are spying on every single American, or why are domestic police forces are "militarizing" to the point where they'd rival our military in size & funding as was Obama's campaign promise. Asking why is only "moonbat" to folks who wish to squelch the discussion, personally I'd like some answers on those reasons why& not just denials, double-talk or mockery.

We know have confirmation that the NSA has been & is currently spying on, collecting & storing data on every single American citizen, I'd imagine that Obama wanted to know "who is who" in this country for a reason, what is the reason? It's code name "prism" is very telling, what does a prism do? It seperates the invisible spectrums of light into individual easily identifyable/visible wavelengths. That is what the program does, it allows for "We the People" to be split & placed into catagories based on our individual political/ideological beliefs. But why? What possible reason could this administration have authorize & fund something like this? I think most folks already know the answer, they just prefer to deny even the possibility that their fellow American's would ever do such a thing I suffer from no such delusions, people are people regardless of what country the live in & historically speaking this prism program is just the newest of all of the other methods communist's have used to "seperate the wheat from the chaff" in the other countries that they have seized power in.

Following a & helping to direct law enforcement officers to intercept a suspicous person is not a criminal act, even suggesting that this is somehow wrong or even remotely inappropriate just shows exactly how "far off the reservation" some of you have gone with regards to this issue. -
But it wasn't "just a facebook post", it was the action's of our government that prompted the Capt. To write that facebook post. The fact remains that the DHS is militarizing, the only reason for it to do so would be to wage war against the American people, there is no other reasonable explaination for a domestic federal law enforcement agency to buy over 1.6+ billion rounds of ammunition & over 2,700+ MRAP vehicles. “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.†- Obama. Ask yourself to what purpose would such a mighty domestic/civilian security force be needed? Are all of our current law enforcement agencies so completely inept & ineffective as to require a "domestic army, that rivals the U.S. Armed Forces?

No I don't work in the healthcare or emergency service industries. I have however attended as many courses as I can find to take & I have aquired & studied as many various medical and pharmacutical books & manuals as I can, I am far from being a "real doctor" or even an EMT, but if a SHTF situation arrises & the emergency services has been temporarily disrupted or has completely collapsed I am as best equiped & as knowledgeable as possible to render immediate emergency medical care to myself, members of my family or perhaps even for my neighbors should the situation become desperate. I keep both hard-copy books (mini-home library) & more mobile digital copies on an Itouch that I can take with me if we are forced to bug-out, just in case I need to refresh y memory, research symptoms or reference unknown/unmarked scavanged pharmacuticals by looking up pill size, shape, markings or colors.
